To all guys who complaint on a lot of stick-tugging and horrible controls. Don’t forget that this is late 50-s - early 60-s design of a strategic air-lifter for the Soviet Airborne Troops. This was not designated for the today's pampered civilian pilots who do not know how to fly a plane without a computerized autopilot. It was a job for the real men.
Mishef Bet they have computers on board nowadays because no company wants to loose their airplanes due to failure. Still these airoplanes are not easy to fly-the already ecperienced pilots training on the biggest antonov transporter takes years till they are allowed to fly these air giants as a captain. I highly respect them...
Love the Low Muscular sound of those Six Lotarev Progress D18T Turbofans coming through even inside the Cockpit. Notice the pitch change after touchdown as he throttled back the power. Great video !!
That wasn't just cool. That was sub-zero cool. Amazing video! Thank for the opportunity to see and virtually experience this moment from the AN-22 cockpit itself. Intriguing!!
Those massive engines sound AWESOME. As a part time pilot I can see by his control inputs that the 225 is big and wallowy and probably a real handful on base and finals! Superb video!
Nice video and as many said, great video placement! I am very surprised with the amount of input needed on the yoke and the resulting minimal aircraft response. Goes to show how much effort it takes to fly such a large plane! Great piloting!
that amazing soundtrack in the background...really suits the video. it gives an atmosphere of suspense...oh wait... it's the engines! Engines provides the best music XD
That plane flew above my house on that day. It is indeed the bigest flying object on this planet. You dont even see a 747 when parked beside Antonov. Nice sound also😁
What a lovely monster bird!) AN-22 is a real airplane fro real airmen! The sound of engines - sweet music for my ears. Captain Vladimie is a riot! Perfect landing.
the low flying that was done just before landing was amazing. I hope they were able to get it back in the air, be a shame if it could only fly downwards, I was once told to sit down and shut up.
Thank you for sharing this video. One can note, that the captain is making numerous adjustments all the while, and that is, I guess, a main principle: "It is better to make many small adjustments, than fewer big ones." - especially when on short final.
+Mike Hunt I think he means something else completely.. I was surprised to see a man flying it (it is a man right?) I thought he did very well, I liked the low flying he did just before landing.
What’s amazing is the amount of down elevator to get the big bird down. The wings must produce an incredible amount of lift 😊. Superb piloting skills. Coms between cpt n FO must be exceptional as he’s in control of the throttle. Thanks for sharing this unique perspective.
Erste An--22 im Landenflug gesehen (CCCP-09332) in Prag.Die zweite 100% inspiziert Cockpit, Frachtraum, Navigatorkanzel CCCP-09329.Immer noch ein Superklopfer.
Heavy load , in the hands of a master he makes it look so easy. Made late 50s so for those who dont know,, do you even know how heavy the steer is,? Best landing ever. Kudos to you Captain!!
Reminds me of being a passenger in the 70's in a Australian Focker Friendship. You could se the pilot doing their stuff as there was no door to cockpit. There was a curtain but half the time it was not used.
probably you mixed them up. This is the Antonov 22, which was also damaged but not as bad as the Antonov 225. The Antonov 22, which is shown in the video, may fly again since it only suffered medium damage. But An-225 unfortunately was almost destroyed...
Was anyone else tilting their head around, trying to steer the airplane? The reason for all the control movement is that this is a big, heavy airplane, with manual controls, and it takes large control inputs to get the airplane to respond.
that's a real pilot at work
That guy landed that whale like a feather.
I like how the engines sound like an ominous soundtrack!
Who needs a gym when this plane has the perfect workout
Didn't realize when it touched the ground. Smooth butter spread
It’s amazing to me that he can “feel” the plane that much to make these types of corrections.
Superb focus and control. Years of real world experience right there.
Really cool camera angle!
Crazy how much movement he is doing with his hands but doesnt look like the plane is moving at all
I rode in one of these rattle traps from Kuwait City to Al Asad Iraq. I couldn't wait to get out of it and give the ground a big kiss.
@1:27 Look closely and you can see where they grow the Swiss army knives.
They only grow the handles in Zurich. The good quality blades are grown in the high Alps. :)
Thank you for sharing such rare footage. Great landing indeed.
Live from the Flight Deck swq
And that is how you land a very large plane with out computer assist, stay in front of the plane all the way, thanks for posting, great to see this.

YUP, the damn thing it's a flying time machine. That airframe has been TO HELL AND BACK.
Mishef that's right well said

I imagine his legs are working a marathon on the rudder pedals as well....
Love the Low Muscular sound of those Six Lotarev Progress D18T Turbofans coming through even inside the Cockpit. Notice the pitch change after touchdown as he throttled back the power. Great video !!
That is so awesome...I don't know how this landing could've been any more perfect.
One word about that landing: SMOOTH!
That wasn't just cool. That was sub-zero cool. Amazing video! Thank for the opportunity to see and virtually experience this moment from the AN-22 cockpit itself. Intriguing!!
Every aviation enthusiast must watch this video, amazing.
right on the touchdown mark :D
The sound of those engines, truly mesmerising.
Those massive engines sound AWESOME. As a part time pilot I can see by his control inputs that the 225 is big and wallowy and probably a real handful on base and finals! Superb video!
Excellent! Great piloting skills to fly this huge monster and land it so soft!
Just look at this bird.... what a beauty she is ?
the word beauty isn't strong enough, the Antei is mesmerizing, wonderful, just❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Captain VOVA knows exactly what he's doing. Nailed that landing like the pro he is.
I think I've sat in the cockpit of this particular plane, it's so big and very impressive.
These guys have my respect for sure.
Dislikes from bad Ryanair pilots
I was suddenly speechless when this video started, too good to be true to find such footage here.
Nice video and as many said, great video placement! I am very surprised with the amount of input needed on the yoke and the resulting minimal aircraft response. Goes to show how much effort it takes to fly such a large plane! Great piloting!
My dodge Ram steering wheel acts just like that.
that amazing soundtrack in the background...really suits the video. it gives an atmosphere of suspense...oh wait... it's the engines! Engines provides the best music XD
This aircraft appears to be as responsive as a heard of cattle.
Sharif Rahimtoola
*drunk heard of cattle
Or even a herd.
yeh, a real pig.
RIP to this masterpiece.. Machines that became a victim of war. God bless those suffering and killed due to war..
Now this is piloting!!!
Amazing job!
I hope he gets paid well
That plane flew above my house on that day. It is indeed the bigest flying object on this planet. You dont even see a 747 when parked beside Antonov. Nice sound also😁
I saw him taking off from my balcony!
Doggy McDogeface what was he doing landing on your balcony?
numbersix100 ahahahahahHa!!!😂😂😂😂
numbersix100 Ahahaha 😂
Shit, you must have a large balcony.
Oggy Oggy 😂😂😂😂😂
What a lovely monster bird!) AN-22 is a real airplane fro real airmen! The sound of engines - sweet music for my ears. Captain Vladimie is a riot! Perfect landing.
Rip Antonio you will be missed 😭
Damn, looks like at least a second lag time between control surface input and response.
This looks like serious work even in calm and fair weather conditions. Hats off.
Best ever view from the cockpit....Thanks.
WOW! Simply amazing! What a flying machine!! Fantastic!!
the low flying that was done just before landing was amazing.
I hope they were able to get it back in the air, be a shame if it could only fly downwards, I was once told to sit down and shut up.
You are a champion, Captain Vova.
0:06 I knew planes have horns.
Thank you for sharing this video. One can note, that the captain is making numerous adjustments all the while, and that is, I guess, a main principle: "It is better to make many small adjustments, than fewer big ones." - especially when on short final.
That landing lookes seamless well done
Show some pictures of the aircraft. Excellent camera placement and aim!
thats some beautiful landscape. Zurich must be a nice place
The landing was actually perfect, great crew.
Wow, smooth as can be. It's an impressive plane.
Great video, love the sound of those engines!!!
Landing was so smooth I missed it. Awesome footage
What an amazing sound! Showers run down my back...
gee!! it sure looks like he is really working the controls! the plane is rock solid, what a pilot!
I crying 😢 today! THANK YOU GIANTNOV

Another amazing clip from the best, by the best.
Thank you very much, dear Air-Clips from Heaven!
Vladimir, well done!
awesome landing, definitely looks like a handful.
What a privilege it is to fly a plane like that
A beautiful landing. I enjoyed it very much. Thanks for sharing.
That was real smooth !
The key of main engines sound is "G"! Amazing bass! :))
First- class pilot..... very professional!!!!!
That's how I fly with my keyboard - constant input on the stick.
I'd call this aircraft sound as orgasmic! How satisfying, the prop rumble.
wow the control response..
what response? ^^
i think he means the responsiveness of the flight controls, e.g his yoke
control response
+Mike Hunt
I think he means something else completely..
I was surprised to see a man flying it (it is a man right?) I thought he did very well, I liked the low flying he did just before landing.

wow that is one clean runway
WOW !!!! Gone to heaven !!!! Maybe ADB should do joy rides in this beauty !!!
nice landing approach and an.awesome touchdown!. :-D
What’s amazing is the amount of down elevator to get the big bird down. The wings must produce an incredible amount of lift 😊. Superb piloting skills. Coms between cpt n FO must be exceptional as he’s in control of the throttle. Thanks for sharing this unique perspective.
You really have to wrestle that beast, that's some great flying.
Absolute legend
Good for you Captain Vova! It was a great landing! Thank you! Молодец, капитан Вова! Бриллиантая посадка! Спасибо большое за удовольствие! 🙂
That was awesome. Super cool to see that viewpoint.
Outstanding work!
Wow the graphics look so real!

Wow! that's like a wrestling match. I get stressed out just watching this. That's awesome footage!
Excellent flying by a real pro. Good job
Touched down beautifully
WOW!! Fantastic landing! Smooth as silk, would have been nice to see exterior view.👍😎
anyone see the VICTORINOX commercial in the field? :)
No joystick, no computer assistant, just real man flying a real plane like a boss.
WOW!! great job. thanks for posting..Beautiful air plane - superb flying...
Gosh, just listen to that engine roaring, what a beast!
Very nice, thank you for uploading it.
The train. You couldn't time that any better.
He did a great job.
A smooth, kiss landing at the end of a nice, long final in VFR conditions.
nice landing, man you can't even tell when the transition from flying to on the ground was!
Reminds me of being a passenger in the 70's in a Australian Focker Friendship. You could se the pilot doing their stuff as there was no door to cockpit. There was a curtain but half the time it was not used.
wow what a perfect landing
This is probably the last footage we'll have of this aircraft for either a long time, or forever.
probably you mixed them up. This is the Antonov 22, which was also damaged but not as bad as the Antonov 225. The Antonov 22, which is shown in the video, may fly again since it only suffered medium damage. But An-225 unfortunately was almost destroyed...
Sound of the engines is excellent, they are the same as on Tu-95
