Have you looked into the recent studies about the "stretch" actually doing more for muscle mass than the isolation movement? I've been trying it out and it definitely makes a difference in the soreness. Brings me closer to failure a lot faster as well. I found it pretty interesting, if it ends up checking out on the science end it might be a pretty big change to the way people lift.
I’ve seen a lot of research showing the stretch portion of the lift is most important for hypertrophy but I haven’t seen anything about stretching gains
