I used to love breaching kill houses with our shotgun. We had to go in as a team for it since nobody actually wanted to primary it. But one of us would always carry it into battle on our backpack. The terrified look in people's eyes when you run in a building with a semi-auto shotgun and a thunder bee really makes it worthwhile.
I ran with a 70 dollar springer 3 shot and used it outdoor and indoor. It performed really well and when paired with good tactics I had a lethal primary. Had lots of fun and got many compliments. Not to mention it was very easy to practice with.
I know this is almost a year old but I had to tell this story anyways. I got hit from like 4 feet away from a guy with a shotgun. It left a little scar for about a year and a half or so, actually maybe a little longer. He felt so bad afterwards, his reflexes just took over but I thought it was a pretty good play.
The final step, the war wolf. Being the giant Form of medieval age gigsntism in siege weapons this was essentially a giant fucking catapult made to Lob giant fucking boulders at Scottish forts since even tens of normal ones didn't do the job apparently
Did you know storm troopers have almost perfect accuracy it's just the main scene they are shown shooting is when Darth Vader didn't want them to hit luke when he was escaping

IIRC their hit rate under fire, pushing single file through a door in to prepared positions, was 70%+ and they only took two casualties. This comment is going to be pretty long as I know a few people in my group who play with shotguns and I want to share our experience Actually a spring tri shot shotgun is great choice for smaller skirmishes. The ammo costs less (most of us guys in our group use 0,3+g bbs for our aegs and with a springer you shoot much less), you don't need batteries and chargers nor do you need gas for springers. It's very practical in a dense bush as my friend found out after he tried his new shotgun because of the high probability of at least one bb getting through with just one shot making it great for stealthy ambushing. And he found a way to use it as a sniper rifle when you need to hit someone from further away. Normally the shotgun has range of about 150ft, but he found that if you load just one heavier bb into the magazine/shell that it loads it into the upper barrel which is centered and because of the way the cylinders in the gun work almost all the power of the main spring goes into the cylinder that is plugged by the bb in the barrel making the bb fly with much more power. So he bought a few black shell magazines and he just puts one heavier bb in there and when he needs to shoot further he just reloads to a black shell. He once got a guy at like 250ft with this technique. He says that using the shotgun is actually more fun than his fully upgraded m4, which is his standart primary weapon for larger games. I actually had the chance to try playing with a tri shot spring shotgun that belonged to another guy and got a few kills with it and it was so much fun, that I ordered my own shotgun just a few days ago to compliment my collection of upgraded AEGs and sniper rifles.

Well another reason is that they can be used for specific things in game modes. For example at the field I play at they have fake doors make out of plastic that if you have a shotgun or a sledgehammer you can use it to "open" the door, allowing for another access point.
Literally just cause they're fun as heck in CQB. Conserve ammo with 3 shot spreads for usually 10 per shell, or treat it like a real shotgun with a 6 shot spread for 5 per shell and possibly get more than one person per salvo with it lol.
Cyma shotguns can cost you up to 80€ full metal, they're pretty reliable but the only downside is the pump being hard to pump (as it's a spring), but you could get used to it after some time
I just buy them $60 ones off amazon. they last decently long for polymer and they're cheap enough to where idc if they break as i can just buy another one. They usually last a good 10-11 months for me since i use them like 2 times every month
I bought a double eagle shotgun about 4 years for about $60. To this day I am still running this shotgun at my local CQB. The only problem I had was getting used to pump the shotgun as it is a spring but you get used to it real fast. The best part ? Shotguns for me make airsoft more of a challenge. And you a correct, they are fun !

Point 3 - springer shotguns are a great backup weapon. Out of battery o you AEG mid-combat? The springer on your back holster is never going to stop working for lack of battery.
Even though you rack the loud pump and enemies can hear you, you could slam fire the living demon out of the shotgun and hit all the enemies fast and easy I recommend a tri shot thats powered by green gas because its easy to rack and the bbs can spread and hit the enemies easier
My problem is that they don't function like a reason shotgun with loading several shells that eject. And yes, i know the reason is they dont want them to be modified to shoot real shells, which is a shame because it ruins the whole experience of using a shotgun, or for me at least
i have a aps cam 870 shell eject, i never had more fun with airsoft toy in mi life . awesome too play with ( a lit bit long ok). she can fire 12 bb by shots , so satisfying to see a cloud of bb coming out of it every shots. down side : the price and you have to load each shell with co2 and bb one at a time …
I have a jag mid size that originally had a buffertube gas chamber. Swapped the angrygun style rear for a grip off a tm supershorty, hpa tapped, got a m4 mag adapter. It served me very well and now just sits with my hpa tapped hi capa in my closet. They've been hard to sell since i moved and now its mostly outdoors around me.
An amazing video but there is only one thing wrong, Stormtroopers don't have bad aim, in the first death star they were ordered to let them escape but make it look like they were trying to kill them, again amazing video but my nerd has unlimited power.

Imo, shotguns actually are good starter guns. Since their spring they naturally have good range. And the price range for a decent one can get as low as 60
I'm thinking about buying an airsoft SPAS 12 for two reasons,one is that SPAS 12 is my favorite shotgun,and the other is that the airsoft version is quite cheap (unlike the real one,which is crazy expensive and I'll probably never be able to get it).
There's also the more expensive ones that use individual shells like mine that fires 10 pellets at a time, only drawback is the shell aren't mags like the cheaper ones so once you fire that shell is empty, mine holds 8+1 shells and the shell hold the co2, it's a dope little gun that's not very practical on the field but it's good for a quick shot in-between reloads and it's just fun to shoot.
Yeah but other types are pretty expensive too. I had an airsoft gun i picked up for quite a bit, then upgraded the internals and added some nice add ons, it ended up costing more than my full AR15 set up!
My brother had a cyma shotgun the long barrel kind, this was like maybe 10 years ago I was a teenager, we were messing about with it, I stuck my finger down the barrel and because the triple barrel doesn't go right to the end, it got stuck, for like an hour. I hate cyma shotguns goddam it (they're actually pretty ok for the money if you just want to mess around on some land you own with mates or play a cqb, just don't stick your finger in the barrel)
Finally someone who mentions that Airsoft is fun. As a non Airsoft player I see way too many guys on RUclips shorts thinking they’re badasses for owning a toy gun that looks real.

i remember i went to a social event once and i forgot my batteries and this block was selling a shotgun for 80 quid so i got that rather than a rentle and honest to god best airsoft gun i ever got super fun to use and has the range of a f sniper

In CQB, I actually prefer a shotgun to an AEG. I use 6 shot, and it pretty much guarantees a hit whenever someone steps out of a door.
