- Connor Garland, Dakota Joshua and Teddy Blueger are playing like one of the best lines in the NHL this season for the Vancouver Canucks. But it hasn't always been this way for the 3 of them as they've often struggled to put together consistent performances throughout their careers.
In this video, I disect why these 3 are SO GOOD together.

The scrap between Garland and Joshua in training camp amplified their chemistry. No joke it happened the same to me , me and this guy fought in a practice and next game we were on the same line and completely dominated and found each other at every occasion. HOCKEY IS BEAUTIFUL!!
When I was in elementary around 3rd grade I got into a fight during recess with a 4th grader because he was always pushing me around for no reason. I had never been in a serious fight before but I had enough! Took a wild swing at his face but it was not that effective, He ended up kicking my ass doing some karate style leg sweep and knocked me on my ass which knocked the wind out of me. He helped me up off the ground and we have been best bros for the past 36 years!
relationship is like a rope if you cut it and tie it back together it brings both ends of the rope closer to each other
i feel like a lotta great bonds start with a fight
Haha!! Guys friendships work in mysterious ways. Dudes that think alike tent to bump heads quite a bit, but you know it wont ever effect the bond.@@PuppetMa5teR
Isn’t it though ? It’s like a tiny total world on the ice .
I picture these three guys trying to find their lost friend after a bachelor party in Las Vegas.
It’s Phil. It’s Phil Kessel.
"holy fuck boys where's quinn"
@@Jeremy-yh8lv 😂
They're the 3 best friends that anyone could have😂
Sooo true😂 and Garland is the guy with the beard and Joshua is the missing tooth dentist guy!
Since the day Garland joined the roster I have loved watching him. He’s always keen, hungry, and hyper-aware. He reminds me a lot of how Burrows used to play… do all of the dirty work to help create chances for everyone else on the ice. I don’t care what his stats say, the man clearly earns his pennies!
Yup, reminds me of Burrows too. But Garland's not earning pennies, he's getting paid $4.95M per year! So yeah, stats ain't everything, but you'd better damn well have a positive effect on the outcome every game for that much money. And now, on this line, he is.
@@dstevens518 “he’s getting paid $4.95M per year.”
Fully aware. That was my point about him earning his pennies. 😉
what's insane to me is how many Canuck "fans" don't see what Garland brings and want him gone. seriously mind boggling
im a canucks fan ive literally always loved him idk why other fans wanted him gone hes fast and he plays with heart
Conor is not the problem, it's Myers.
is it insane? Before this line was having success Garland was doing his spinnys along the boards and occasionally getting a point for 5 mil a year. And who knows... he still might want out of Vancouver seeing as he's the one who asked to be traded.
@@RevanBC Garland has always played this way since arriving here, hard and fast on the forecheck and defense, controlling the puck down low along the boards and and wearing down the opponents defense and occasionally scored big goals. In fact, he's actually on pace for LESS points totals this year since he arrived.. Sure 5mil sounds a little steep, but these type of players are required on the 3rd line to win games.
@@turtlebeef I'm not disagreeing and I love his playstyle. Just never had the right line combination to be consistent was the issue.
Now everyone has moved onto Andrei Kuzmenko being benched and not producing. Wonder if the same thing happens for him or he gets traded.
They’re so collected in the defensive zone but it’s so chaotic in the offensive zone. I love it.
Scrambly, physical, relentless, annoying as hell hockey. Not a floater on the line. Canucks were never that hard to play against before (except for Kesler), and I'm sure most teams don't look forward to facing them now. Either it's this line in your face, or you get to try to shut down the Lotto Line! Oh, joy...🤣
They are called the lifeline for a reason. One of many surprises from the canucks this year leading them to the inevitable winning of a Stanley cup
I remember another Canucks line that was also called The Life Line - Ronning, Linden and Courtnall. That's high honour to name this line of misfits after that line.
@@Seriously_Unserious YES... and Garland reminds me so much of Cliff Ronning!
@@trevortamboline279 Though Garland's not as good a playmaker but plays tougher then Ronning.
lol ok 👍
@@Seriously_Unserious Each line has a scrappy little guy (Ronning/Garland), a stoic Clark Kent-type (Linden/Blueger) and a licensed troublemaker (Courtnall/Joshua).
I loved having Blueger on the Pens. He was a great bottom 6 center and penalty killer. I was upset when they traded him last deadline
I knew he was a a good fit . Every time Pittsburg was on the tube in the background ( I’m Canadian Sid is a Hero here ) I heard The blugiemans name ! Love that he’s here on our team now ! A great addition .
I liked him on Vegas too. It’s too bad we had to get rid of him
I've been following Teddy since his Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins/AHL days... He is still my favorite, I'm still disappointed with how teams have traded him, but I'm glad to see him adjusting and doing well! All around great guy!!
Blueger has always been a 3rd line center to me. His style is the perfect role for it. I’m just really glad he’s been finding that offensive side again in Vancouver.
@@Metallicadude3187 the bloogie man is a great addition
Awesome breakdown, what an exciting time! They are crushing it
Yes they are! It’s been a great few months to be a Canucks fan (about time too 💀)
@@CunuckHockey ha for real, I remember checking the standings and was like “no way are they really this good right now?”
great vid!! every game I'm saying to myself how much I love this line. Even when they don't light the lamp, they're exciting, driven, spend most of their shift in O-zone, and spark momentum for the rest of team....LOVE THESE GUYS!!💪👍
Love your detailed analysis. Please do more!
More to come!
The three of them together are great but i really like this Dakota Joshua guy
Nice video btw!!
Thanks so much!! I’ve really grown on Joshua as well. Super impressed by Allvin’s pro scouting so far to be honest.
I was high on the Joshua signing once we got him. An article website for the Canucks released clips of Joshua's time with the Blues after the signing and I was impressed. The guy has an extremely high hockey IQ and it made sense why Tocchet wanted more out of the guy.
They need to find a way to keep Bleuger and Joshua. Re-sign them both and elevate them to the 2nd line officially.
I call them the "Lunch Bucket Line". I've been a Canucks fan for decades and they are one of the best lines in the history of the team, and currently in the entire NHL. They don't get all the media attention and all the glory that the Lotto Line gets, but they have been tremendously effective all season. They are just like a bunch of hard-working lunch-bucket construction workers who have an important job to do, and are totally committed to getting it done right.
Canucks are a fun team to watch this year. Hopefully they can keep it up heading down the stretch.
Let's hope the canucks can go all the way we sorely need a Canadian Stanley cup win.
Hope for another Vancouver vs Boston finals.
@@Getitright488 Canucks revenge would be awesome, but with the way the Bruins get every advantage in Buttman's league, I'd rather they face someone else, so it could be a fair series.
That was so well done. I really appreciated you breaking down plays and that shift at the end. Really, one of the best hockey things I've seen in awhile!
Cheers from Sweden!
Incredible to see Canucks at the top of the table, I don’t think that I ever seen that in my 8 years following them.
Really interesting video btw! 👍
loved the video and breakdown...getting me stoked for the playoffs because we haven't seen this kind of chemistry in a long time. reminds me of the team when we got Ronning and Courtnal
Great breakdown and analysis. Way better than anything mainstream sports shows put out. Keep ‘em coming! Subscribed!
Wonderful video! Would definitely love to see more! Thank you for taking the time to create 👌🏼
Conflicts are often a cause of competitiveness but that's also what brings out an understanding of each other's strengths.
Love it! Good, in depth analysis. Go canucks go!!
Great video well done!
reminds me of the old HBK line from the pens back to back cups. always awesome to see these seemingly perfect combinations of players come together and really bring out the best in each other
Happy to see Latvian Bļugers being noticed and finding his groove with linemates. :)
He has such a good defensive stick! And I’ve always had a soft spot for Latvians so it’s cool to have a prominent guy on our team!
Him, Girgensons in Buffalo, Elvis tending goal in Columbus, and Florida has a dman, can't remember his name..
@@marsters9109 Balinskis.
@@CunuckHockey I hope Silovs will make it with the Canucks.
@@josephstalin4906He will no doubt. He is good
Great video! Love that line!
Thank you so much for posting this and I agree. And love the 3 misfits. Go canucks go and hope they push to playoffs and to the cup
Very happy for Teddy. Sad that he missed out on the Bronze for Latvia.
Great video, brilliant analysis, keep up your work. Subscribed.
Yeah, man. Love the analysis. I've been following Garland since he started w/ the Coyotes. Love this guy and love that line. You earned a sub.
This was a great video! Well done
These guys are awesome to watch, beauty goals, crisp passing, hyper aware of each others positions.. LOVE IT!
Well done video! Thanks🇨🇦
Thanks so much! Appreciate the support
Just came across your channel, love this!
Im loving Dakota Joshua! That line is 🔥
Loved it, yes please keep making them thank you
This was amazing. Thank you

Giving away our trade secrets! Great time to be a Canuck. Good job on the break down.

Awesome video!!!!
Thank you my friend!!
Keep it up. It's great
yeah, really love the depth
a pleasant surprise performing way way above anybody's wild expectations. really impressed by their night in night out effort. so happy for them all!
god I love to watch these guys play. They bring so much energy. it reminds me a lot of when Kes, Burr, and Raymond played together on the 2nd line. It was super exciting to watch their 2-way play. It gets me hype.
Really good vid, you got a sun from me.
What a beautiful breakdown. Can you make a video breaking down basic hockey forechecking systems and defensive strategies in each zone?
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it. I'll keep that one in mind - I'd love to make something like that!
Yeh buddy l like these videos with great insight and explanations, good insights as a fan it’s nice seeing these breakdowns
Glad you enjoyed!
Very nice breakdown and analysis of this line. Gave props to Miller and Brock too. No love for Petey?
Please Make more videos like these videos! learned a lot and found it really interesting. learning about the sport more its terminology and strategies, so this video was a great find, hope to see more!
(Does anyone know good sources to learn this sort of stuff?)
Glad you found it useful! I’ll keep making videos like these! There’s a couple other like this one on my channel as well.
There’s a bunch of other RUclips channels that cover some of the nuances like the ‘Hockey Psychology’ channel as well.
Good stuff, more breakdowns please!
On it!
Great vid
I'm far from a Canucks fan, but this is a great video and very informative. Great analysis.
Thank you! I make a lot of non-Canucks related content as well so hope you stick around!
The last three wins in metro New York was a lot of fun
Nice video!
Glad you enjoyed it
'I love these videos.
Great anal cyst of that line, been the best line in hockey for a short period time now that the puck is starting to go in for them. They have been dominate at both ends of the ice for some time. Fun line to watch. Don't look now but the Lotto line is starting to show them up a bit in the goal scoring department, it's great to see two lines going like that. Wow.
yes cool vid ...subbed
Really good video
Glad you enjoyed it
Pretty amazing really.
Gotta love the Life Line
So fun to watch
All exciting for this 48-year Canuck fan.
Good job bud
Man i miss Teddy. Pens fan here
Remember the ZAR-Blueger-Tanev line? This is everything that the line of Joshua-Blueger-Garland line reminds me of. Speed, physicality, offence, defence. They can bring it. I have always believed is a perfect 3C. Joshua has just become a force on both sides of the ice and loves scoring goals. Garland is just showcasing why he got a $4.95M contract. They’ve really glued together to become possibly the best 3rd line in the league today. It’s a beautiful thing to see.
That's a pretty good name for the line -- the Misfits. Great movie too (the old one).
Yep. This is a great format. More.
Great analysis, that's how you get a sub.
Much appreciated!
What chemistry they’ve developed. Hope they can all re sign👍
i completely forgot they fought in training camp, what a season this line has had
Thanks!
Wow that’s incredible, thank you so much for the support!!
I'm a Hawks fan first, but I still love the sport of hockey. Having a 3rd line that is fully capable of scoring is essential for a cup win. The last 3 seasons I've seen Vancouver build a solid team. Ya'll are seriously just on the verge of winning a cup. Maybe just like 1 or 2 solid defensemen added to the roster will shoot them to the top.
Broo in the opening clip my buddy and I are in the top right corner behind the glass HAHA 😂
Not only are they winning, they're also winning in beauty now. The 2 goals against the Rangers in the last game alone. WoW - what talent... And no matter which line is on the ice, all of them are dangerous and hard to count out. And then there's Demko! A complete team at the moment. And not just after 10 games, but now 40!
I really respect Garland for giving 100 million percent despite wanting to leave
This is the best 5 on 5 line in hockey right now
The 3st line absolutely killing it.
More of these types of videos
Garland’s skill set is off the chain and it has been since before he got to the Q.
Our lifeline 🔥
I like all 3 but I LOVE Joshua!
Josuha is amazing, and Garland is on speed this season.
As a Pens fan who watched Teddy in Wilkes and then into the NHL I’m happy for him. He was always a good two way player and you just knew he had potential for more offense in there. Just a shame it came to be after his time with the Penguins 😂
@@shannon7674 same, he seemed like a good kid.
Wow. The new LINDEN, RONNING, AND ODJICK LINE👍👍👍👍🧐
Conflict can often breed connection, with a bit of intelligence and recognition from both parties
a great 3rd line is the key to a winning roster. 2020 lightning are another great example
Alvin the mastermind!
That’d be great more in depth analysis videos would be greatly appreciated thank you
Like the Hansons from SlapShot!
To be really successful in today's NHL you need at least 3 good lines that can play in all situations. These guys coming together is proof of that. Yes Miller's play, Boeser's return, Demko etcetera, Pettersson etcetera etcetera. The main thing of why the Canucks are so good? Tocchet. The main difference from last year? Tocchet. He holds guys accountable, he uses guys to there strengthes, yes the players deserve the credit from the 1st guy to the last. Even Myers (lol) but seriously Tocchet and his associate coaches got them to play together
Last time the 'nucks had a 3rd line i liked they went to the finals. Hope they can do that again! |Garland is the new Hansen!
Dan, you should do a video of how the Canucks have 5 of the top 15 players in terms of plus minus.
You forgot .. Rick T the coach. He is a warrior and fierce. This is the REAL reason of the Vancouver Canucks success.
My fav line
