Grade XI and Grade XII Crafter and Gatherer Materia are in the game but you have to use Purple Scripps for grade XI and orange for Grade XII

if a meld overcaps a stat, is that materia meld disregarded entirely? Or only the amount you over capped by?
Some of the teamcraft meld recommendations for crafter left side over cap by 2 so i was just wondering...

Only partially - So for example if you are 75 / 100 gathering and add a +30 gathering materia, it will take it to 100/100 and you will 'lose' 5 from the gathering materia, so it could be better to use a cheaper lower grade materia to meet the max criteria.

i might have missed you explaining this but for the transmutation process, is there any sort of benefit to doing something like 3 11s and 2 12s trying to get a 12 back? Like how different are the odds if you did 4 12s and 1 11, does the 1 one rank lower materia basically screw you over?

The savage gear itself will replace craft though, right? Or is crafted penta so much better it stays relevant for longer?

Savage gear is better because no amount is secondary stats can compete with 10 ilevels of primary stat. You penta meld because savage gear is often used for months while your proging and trying to win gear rolls or if your a week 1/2 static, to give you the dps boost to actually kill
