older women are sometimes called vixens in the way older men are called silver foxes as a female fox is a vixen obviously.
the line "your kisses taste like bits of almonds" also suggest that she is dangerous in some way as wild almonds actually contain trace amounts of cyanide, but enough to cause accidental overdose and death when enjoyed in excess.

Its not a myth tho, its actually a genetic mutation, only a small set of people have it.
It's not a myth, I love the smell of almonds, but absolutely can't stand the bitter aftertaste of them. And that taste is from the tiny amounts of amygalin, which breaks down into prussic acid and hydrocyanic acid in sweet almonds. (Bitter almonds are totally poisonous, but sweet almonds have been bred down from the bitter kinds and have much less prussic and hydrocyanic acid compounds in them).

Smell is very associated with taste. Cyanide I bitter, very bitter. So if you kiss someone with the taste of cyanide on their lips, you would assume that it wouldnt be like biting down on an actual capsule, rather just getting a small taste. The small taste, nowhere near as potent, would have to taste as smell does.

The difference between "bitter" and "sweet" almonds is the cyanide concentration. Sweet almonds are fine to eat, youd need to have a ludicrous amount to get sick. Bitter almonds can and will kill you.
