  • Research says using these 6 persuasive body-language positions during a talk can lead to success.
    CHAPTERS
00:00 Your ideas are important-but so is your body language.
    00:47 Position 1: The box
01:10 Position 2: Holding the ball
    01:25 Position 3: Pyramid hands
    01:52 Position 4: Wide stance
    02:05 Position 5: Palms up
    02:22 Position 6: Palms down
The next time you give a presentation, try to have it recorded, then review the video with the sound off, watching only your body language. How did you stand and gesture? Did you use any of these positions? If not, think about how you might do so the next time you’re in front of an audience, or even just speaking to your boss or a big client. Practice in front of a mirror, then with friends, until they feel natural.
Non-verbal communication won’t necessarily make or break you as a leader, but it might help you achieve more successful outcomes.

Great summary! It would be fantastic to have the same for video conferencing or just "While Sitting" :)

    Nice
Almost said, Clinton's initial style was similar to palms up but for the later, the elbow are much lower

I was about to say that. As you said, it is the positioning of the elbows that can turn it from awkward to in control, as Oprah does in her presentations

Live speech coach here. Please take care. This list is not well explained. It's more like the list of do's and don'ts parents give teenagers before the prom, mysterious and ungrounded. For example if you want to see the box go wrong watch any number of TED talk speakers. Also, by the way, the pyramid is commonly called steeple. What's undeniably true is that leaders and executives MUST speak with gestures to be successful as a credible leader.

Point 3 can be counterproductive and best not to do. Often used by arrogant individualists to signal over-confidence, an opinion they’re in some way superior, ‘I know something you don’t’ thinking. bodylanguageproject.com/nonverbal-dictionary/the-hidden-body-language-of-hand-steepling/
