- The THING in Santa Teresa, CR is sunsets, everyone goes to the beach to watch it.
The drive from San Jose airport to Santa Teresa is HOURS (by bus). I believe they said 5+. It's cheap but to time consuming based on the roads. When you land in San Jose get a hopper domestic flight to the landing strip that is 45 minutes from Santa Teresa. The cost for the hopper flight was another $100 each way (comes with a free beer) but 100% worth it. The taxi is 45 minutes and costs $70. Again worth it from a pure time savings.
Restaurants:
There is a ton of restaurants with all kinds of food. Here are a few we went to.

* El Corazone - really good vegan / veg (our favorite spot besides the bakery)
* Satori - also Asian / sushi

* Banana beach - more of a “party vibe” on Monday’s they have surf competitions and everyone goes to watch / have drinks
Other:
* Getting an atv is a must. You will ride everywhere. Literally everywhere. Try to negotiate to $50/day. They try to get $70
* Find friends who will invite you to villa / beach parties
* If you’re trying to work, make sure you ask the house about WiFi for zoom etc.
* if WiFi goes out, go to the Selina (but hurry cause everyone will rush there)
* Workout: go to yoga at Pranamar / stay for breakfast. Beautiful location. Or do kickboxing at academia sf with Simon. He’s the best
* Take your atv to Montezuma / go see the waterfalls
*Go to Tortuga Island - Meet in Montezuma take a boat over to the island and spend the day there. Swimming, food, snorkeling etc.
* Check out hermosa beach
* Horseback Ride! This was our favorite thing we did. 3 hours on the beach, jungle, and country side. You stop at a bar along the way.
* TAKE LOTS OF CASH. They accept USD and Colones which is their dollar. They will give you Colones as change always. To find out what $$ = in CRC divide total by 600 which is the current rate to get total in USD. i.e. 25,000 CRC / 600 = $41.66.
No way! Stayed at the house just below this back in sepetember, such a sick spot!
