I love how both of you enjoy your travels and appreciate great food. Vietnam is known for live seafood and family-style dishes, not the typical bánh mì and phơ
Hue - Danang - Hoi An is such a fantastic combo in central Vietnam. If you're in the mood for an island adventure, you could also check out Ly Son island for 2-3 days. You could take a train from Danang station to Quang Ngai station, then take a taxi to habour, then take a speedboat to Ly Son island. Fantastic views on the island. Motorbikes could also be rented on the island. Enjoy Vietnam guys and thank you for always sending positive vibes. 🥰
I just watched this video and as a kiwi that's been to Da Nang it's a nice break listening to the views of a couple of Aussies rather than watching Americans, Poms or Canadians on a backpacker budget screwing down the locals that are sometimes cringe to watch. I haven't been to that market but will next trip and that lobster was certainly worth the $60 you paid for it. Great video, I'll watch the Hoi An one now 😂

The Vietnamese avocado is about 2.5 times bigger than the ones we get here in the US, and cheaper and fresher. To tell you the truth, pretty much all of the food the Vietnamese have are fresh and tree-ripened, whether meat, vegetables or fruits, even their bread. The seafood footage is just too cruel for us viewers here in the US/West and to let us the know the cost is just evil 🙂 BTW, that seafood place, Nam Danh, gets crowded at night. It would have family gatherings as well as the beer drinkers too. Vietnam is one of those rare places where their "beer hall" or "pubs" have great food, like expensive seafood.

Those trees by the beach are not palm trees. They are coconut trees. When we were there last November, there were a bunch of coconuts on the trees. Danang is my hometown, but I moved to Saigon when I was 8, then the US when I was 27. I’ve been living in the US almost half of my life now.
Gorgeous location, but I find it sad that the local fishermen can no longer access the beach in Da Nang to fish in their Thung chai (basket boats) due to the resorts blocking their access. 😥
@vintagefoodfarm oh so glad to hear that. I'm sure tourism feeds more families these days than fishing, but nice to know some traditions live on for the locals.
