i graduated august 3rd,after our liberty call we headed back to our ship"building". we have the majority of things packed and had a white board with schedules of who went where. i think 2 days before graduation is where we got our order packets on where were going,some had to be in holding for medical reasons or information errors in transferrring. youll sleep for a couple hours and people will head to their a schools soon after, 1am for texas,3am for pensacola, and 7am for the school across the street.

What a coincidence I just got disqualified today from Meps for having astigmatism now I have to wait for a consultation.

As long as you have a signed note from a doctor saying that you are clear or mental illness, you should be fine.

@Ej Nappe I am half blind technically, my right eye is bad but i can still see everything almost but it's just blurry. I have 20/20 in my left eye with glasses. Could i get a waiver for tht bc I want to join the navy so bad.
I think the word you were looking for was anemia, I'm anemic & will probably need a waiver to join

I got disqualified from the US Navy for a pastdiagnosis of Asperger's and for being on an IEP in high school. After MEPS found outI was on an iep, that was when i got denied. I then got a waiver, and the waiver itself was denied and i was told i hadto wait at least a year before trying again. I called my recruiter today and i found out thati am still not qualified for US Navy. What can I do?
wait ho did meps find out you were on an iep? did you tell them?

zbh104 yea go to a optometrist and get a waiver go back to meps and swear in it should take no later then 4days for the waiver
My recruiter told me that they schedule an appointment for me to go and they do the waiver
zbh104 yea ay wen u go if your optometrist says u won’t need glasses well when u get to bootcamp they will give u them personally it’s up to you to wear em or not but I’m in “A” school

What about ear tubes at the age of 3 but they haven’t fell out, is that a disqualification
At MEPS you'll do a hearing test, as long as you pass i dont see a reason why it would matter

What about debt? Do you know how much would be acceptable to still be able to get into the Navy?
So long as you can pay it off you should be fine. It may hinder your ability to get a top secret clearance however.

Why cant i join the Navy with Asthma? Like why cant i just have an inhaler on me? Its a very very manageable disease, and im soo mad that i cant join ive wanted to be an (AO) for a big part of my life now... I trained for the Navy just to find out that im automatically disqualified by having Asthma.... I found this out just today from talking to my recruiter!!!! :(

I didn't get kicked out. This was back at MEPS when I was trying to join.
Should I keep my mouth shut about asthma? I was misdiagnosed years ago and was prescribed an inhere. Who I was 14 I got retested using the pulmonary function test and they said that I was all good (I passed.) So should keep my mouth shut since I actually don't have it or still bring it up? I don't want a fraudulent enlistment in my mind but if its not a big deal which I don't think it is then ill keep my mouth shut. Any advise?
If it was a mis diagnosis just leave it alone. If you say something about it they may make you go through a bunch of tests.
