- This video is a step-by-step swaging tutorial, on how to swage the end of a copper pipe to connect pipework, instead of using a coupling. At the end of this video I’ll show you why you shouldn’t use these tools to swage pipes, at least for gas pipework.

The real deal. Thanks for the engineering level explanation.
Many thanks for your comment Tim.
Cheers Rod 👍 nice clear and concise, explained everything I was looking for with none of the "big RUclipsr" nonsense

Love 💕 IT.
And I love your comment. Many thanks Fortune One.
Hi, can swaging method used for mass productions of coils? This is the process where u-bend are connected to straight copper tubes to create circuits. Can it replace the flaring process where it is currently be used?
Hi Raj, I'm not familiar with the mass production, although most probably it uses hydraulic presses. This manual swagging process is not recommended for gas systems due to the issues it has and considering the cost of the commercial equivalents.
Very nice, but swaging is used in AC work often. Holds gas fine.
Thanks for your comment Backstabbio.
Sir I am Indian sir I want copper pipe expend spin tools
At 2:30 you can see the tool I made. You can make it yourself with a steel round bar of a diameter exactly the same as the outer diameter of the pipe you want to swag. You make 4 diagonal cuts on one end to make a point.
You anneal copper by dunking it red hot. It's the opposite of hardening steel..
Thanks.
