There are several very competent Beatles re-creators out there, and you're one of them. However your playing has a certain depth and texture that none of the others quite do. Awesome stuff.
What I love about Ringo’s drum lines is how simple / held back they can be. There’s no need for constant hihats right from the moment drums come in. He has no desire to show off, only to ride the rhythm and best suit the song idea - and then when he does then do the occasional more complicated part, it sounds even better because he uses those moments so sparingly. True rhythmic genius.
@@thecroft6070 I m a non musician n when I watch a music video,my attention is on the drum n bass n Something’,Ringo laid down a nice clean as well as Paul’s bass , it carried the whole song n u can’t ignore the solo ,it’s n iconic riff. Nicely done video. 👍

Love how Ringo uses the high hat on the last verse just to change things up. Part of the genius of his drums part. Simple on the surface yet so complex and deep.
Something in the way she moves Attracts me like no other lover Something in the way she woos me I don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how Somewhere in her smile she knows That I don't need no other lover Something in her style that shows me I don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how You're asking me will my love grow I don't know, I don't know You stick around, now it may show I don't know, I don't know Something in the way she knows And all I have to do is think of her Something in the things she shows me I don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how
I think the reason why this stands out more than the others is because not only can you hear it, you can feel it. He puts an incredible level of emotion into it. It got me emotional when I first viewed it because I went straight away to think of my lady. The significance of this version makes you truly love the song even more.
Michael, thank you. I have listened to, well yes, hundreds of “Something” covers. You truly get the sound right. Tone? Texture? What do you call doing a cover that is so true to the original that it sounds better. Great bass attack and sustain, pitch perfect guitar solo ( and you got that little fuzz tone going on) and to my surprise you got the drums to sound like a recording from more than 50 years ago. Well done, very well done. I just listened to this again and i confess, I am even more impressed than when I first heard it over a year ago. Infact, I have listened to many more covers of my favorite Beatles songs, and nobody gets the drums like you have. Thank you It's 2023, I am still amazed!
That's great cover! I knew George's capo on the 3rd fret for the first time in the movie "Get Back" last year. You did it 2 years ago and it's amazing. And I also like your violin pizzicato. Thank you.
check out my version of this solo that I played using a steel slide:ruclips.net/video/AZk4BrWP0tg/видео.html if you like subscribe to my channel and see other videos, thanks
Just wanted to say I’m so glad to see you back with beautiful Beatles content. Like a lot of folks watching your content, your original videos went hand in hand with me discovering the Beatles in my early teens and your lessons opened the door to beginning to learn their obviously incredible music. I was so happy to find you had returned! Like yourself, I too found my way back to that deep love of music and recording again in this crazy pandemic. Keep up the amazing content, man.
Just phenomenal. Beautiful beyond words. Something is easily my favorite Beatles song, and I was ready to pick it apart when I came here. Instead, I listened to it 3 times in a row and found it flawless. What else could I do but subscribe to your channel? Thank you for making my day.
That really is quite exquisite. I've seen it several times before, but for some reason it showed up on my YT page this morning and I watched it again, beginning to end. Thanks
I agree! I had no idea about the capo until I started studying the isolated tracks in late 2020. I had trouble getting the right sound without the capo, and then I remembered his Anthology demo was played in A. Slapped a capo on 3 and viola, sounded perfect!
Yes! And finally the latest officially published transcription also shows the rhythm guitar part using a capo on the 3rd fret and playing is if the song were in A, like the demo! So it’s awesome to see that you did that here as well!! Finally somebody gets it lol it’s the only way to make it sound right!
Oh, you did it justice. And so much for the rumors that John nor Paul would help George with his songs. I suspect they did push him aside a lot to record their songs, but listen to what Paul came up with as a bass part for this glorious song. Sounds like John may not have done a lot, but then who knows? He may have helped in ways we will never know.
What?! How am I only finding you in my recommended now? I sawr the name and I chuckled to myself because it reminded me of an old channel that used to share the great Beatles secrets of RUclips yesteryear, I thought what a mighty coincidence... but then the clip of you on the keyboard showed and I saw your face and I thought "the legend has returned to grace my feed after so many years...
This is awesome! You are a very talented musician. You nailed the bass part, it sounds exactly like the record, I mean, I thought I was listening McCartney playing in 1969! Thank you so much for your effort. Keep doing covers! "Your mother should know" would be an awesome song to do!
I have never clicked so fast on a video and I was rewarded with an absolutely awesome artist recreating one of my favorite songs from my favorite band. Absolutely awesome! Hope you keep continuing down a path of such talent and skill!
I’m honestly not the biggest fan of the Beatles but this was really pleasant to watch, beautiful cover, nice work on the sounds, I loved the drums! Looking forward for more stuff from you, keep up!
This cover is one of the most unbelievably accurate sounding covers of this song ever! Just one little thing for me personally the lead/solo guitar (les Paul) tone isn’t complete with out adt (artificial double tracking) lol a slap back delay may work too but idk
So beautifully done, gave me goosebumps. I love the lyrics of the song too, but the music is just so mellow and suductive all on it's own........and you just automatically hear the words in your head. GREAT JOB!!!!!
Just realised a few seconds from the end that you are one and only playing all instruments… fantastic job… Ringo’s part is perfect (the other’s too) down to the drum’kit sound… who needs Studio 2 😌 🙏
That was awesome! I discovered this while searching to see how many covers there were of that song using pedal steel guitar, and didn't find much. I hope you don't mind me adding a pedal steel solo and posting to my youtube channel. I will give you credit and post a link to your instrumental.
Superbly done. I only realized today that the guitar solo was doubled on vocal by Harrison, faintly but still a Beatles secret ingredient. Also, how crazy is that bass line, approaching the final cadence from a tenth and ninth above, then dropping down just in time... I'm not even sure he meant it to sound that good lol. Also, because he's constantly on the look out for 'something' different, Paul isn't always perfectly in sync but you did a great job of mimicking his 'tight-rope' act.
George obviously didn't have the number of songs and hits as John & Paul, but I think one could argue that George's hits were some of the biggest and best songs any group has ever recorded.
Great job. There’s always the debate of which bass Paul used on the recording, Hofner vs Rick- every cover version I’ve heard done on a Rick is so convincing to me that’s what he used, the clarity and how much more articulate his sound was. Your use of a 4003 (I know he used his 4001S) is a clear example. Excellent job

Exactly! These covers somehow manage to bring out the same character, magic and appeal. Unseen anywhere else.

Imagine writing and recording these great songs, and never playing them live in front of an audience. Mind boggling.
I always thought that the drums on this track were underrated, there so unique and full of life.
Now I've deeply realized how much beautiful is this masterpiece

I love the fact that each instrument has nearly the perfect tone. Outstanding job!
FYI I just sent this video to a young man who fled mobilization and had to leave his guitar behind in St Petersburg. I know this will lift his spirit!
The drumming in the bridge section is always great to hear!
