I never realized it until now but the maracas in the beginning almost sound like a clock ticking, up until the alarm goes off. Just another level of the Beatles’ genius.
Michael, I'm speechless. I have no words to describe what I just saw. This is, without any doubt, the BEST cover of this song on RUclips. Congratulations on another success.
I love how perfect you did this song. Just amazing. The Analogs band also has a perfect version of this song using all the original instruments and also using an orchestra.
Ringo's drums on this track are so symphonic, he plays them like a timpani. I've been waiting for this one. Stunning as always. The best channel on RUclips by far. Can't wait for the next one!
Seeing the visuals of the drumming just highlights how Ringo was looking at the drum part in a completely different way than anybody else was doing at the time. Instead of the standard high-hat and snare holding the beat then doing fills at the end of a section, he's playing it more like a xylophone, doing a counter-melody throughout with each drum its own unique "note." Just a totally different approach to pop and rock drumming. Then there's the simplicity of the piano part, the simple chord strumming of the acoustic, the maracas all simple parts that mesh together to form such a complex web of music. A true masterpiece and an awesome note-for-note recreation!

i love how at the very beginning of the song like with just the acoustic guitar, it sounds like returning home from somewhere, but then all the other instruments come in and it turns in a complete different direction, as if going back for one more adventure

I was 13 when this came out. I thought The Beatles couldn't keep up their high standards for another multi hit album. I mean, nobody had done that. Then Srg Pepper came out and it literally blew my mind. This track in particular. The chord at the end is everybodys mind exploding! So many genres done so well. Multiple hits AGAIN on one album. I've always been skeptical of A Day In The Life covers, because most of them are missing something in one way or another, but this is the first time I actually like a cover of this song. And I know it means nothing to you, but just know that you made someone happy with your cover!! Great stuff man, you earned yourself a subscriber!!!
Holy shit, that snare drum is so SWEET, and I swore I could hear some vocals during the infamous "ahhh" section, You've no doubt heard this a million times, but stellar job once again.
One of my all time favorite drum parts is this one by Ringo - it is brilliant and i could head it thousands of times and it never gets old - there are so many musical highlights in this recording but Ringo's drums probably stand out the most for me -- great job Mike, outstanding!
Seeing it as we’ve heard after all these years is quite breathtaking. Those eerie guitar strums, the unsettling piano accompaniment and those drums all add to the atmosphere but the way you piece them all together is outstanding. Amazing.
Astonishing. Dead on accurate to every detail. This is what The Beatles would’ve sounded like if they had the ability to record on infinite tracks and it’s amazing. Job well done is an understatement

I can't add anything new to the comments about what a great job you did, so I'll just say "Brilliant!" and comment on your comments. Please keep up the good work. From "She Loves You" to this in 4 years. Yes, being alive then and waiting with eager anticipation for the next album, it was indeed mind blowing. I was the perfect age, 16 for "Rubber Soul", 17 for "Revolver", then 18 just as "Pepper" came out. Whew! The excitement cannot be explained if you weren't there. People who say Ringo was not that great a drummer have never listened to this song. Sure he did not have the chops of Kieth Moon, but imagine if Moon had played on this song. Terrible. Moon was right for the Who, and Ringo was right for The Beatles. Different groups, way different styles. This song was the high-water mark for The Beatles. It made the album. In fact, "Pepper" was far from as enjoyable to listen to as "Rubber Soul" or "Revolver". Sure it changed things (again) but there were several songs on the album I just did not enjoy. Every Beatle album was so different from the previous, and this was certainly no exception. Little things like the songs running into each other without the usual 4 or 5 second delay were interesting. Paul's bass reached a new level of being "lead bass" and literally making many of the songs. But on this, perhaps the most new of new Beatle songs, I have to ask, "Where is George Harrison?" He no longer determined the style of their songs by his choice of which guitar he played.
Incredible stuff. Many people can replicate the tempo and the notes. But it's not easy to get the texture just right and that's what you nail, time and time again.
Simply brilliant! Nothing more needs to be said except, as always, thank you for sharing your amazing talents! PS…how about a making of video? Would love to see some of the behind the scenes work!

1. Paul McCartney is a genius, beyond even our normal understanding. I always loved the piano playing in his section of the song, never knew why. After slowing it down and picking it apart, the dude is just an extraordinarily intuitive musician. Mozart might be the only adequate comparison. 2. John Lennon's voice bring everything to the song. So I think my lesson there is, the melody and vocal performance completes a song - and a song can't have the emotional impact without a soulful vocal performance.. 3. Engineering matters. The 8 separate days of drum takes revealed that fine-tuning the mic placement, drum tuning, and EQ/plug-ins got THAT sound. 7. I can't count.

[Verse 1: John Lennon]
I read the news today-oh, boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well, I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really sure if he was from the House of Lords
[Verse 2: John Lennon]
I saw a film today, oh boy
The English Army had just won the war
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Having read the book
[Refrain: John Lennon]
I'd love to turn you on
(Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten)
*alarm clock rings*
[Bridge: Paul McCartney]
Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream
[Interlude: John Lennon]
Ahh-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ahh
[Verse 3: John Lennon]
I read the news today-oh, boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall
[Refrain: John Lennon]
I'd love to turn you on
[Instrumental Outro]
