Stray Dog Severely Neglected and Abused

Welly, named after Wellington where he was found in the bushes on Sunday afternoon, is a 4.4 pound maltese who has undergone a life of severe neglect and abuse. When we found him his fur was so matted and full of debris you could tell it had never been cut, his fingernails were so long they were growing into the pads of his feet, he could not even sit or stand, and he is completely blind. It is obvious that this dog has never received proper love and care
We took him directly to Jupiter Pet Emergency and Specialty Center where Dr. Latimer assessed him and found that there are no bone fractures or broken bones as we originally thought. We have done blood work, x-rays and liver shunt tests to rule things out, but what he found is that this is neurological. Unfortunately we now must take this poor soul to get an MRI and a Spinal Tap to determine what more can be done for him.
Our hope and prayer is that what we find today is a treatable condition and this deserving life can be saved. His MRI and Spinal Tap will be about $4,500. We appreciate any donations to help us continue to help Welly.
