When I first moved to a new town, I took a walk to get to know the area better. I missed a turn and ended up walking much further than intended. It was about 10 miles! I just told my youngest son about it last week, then I saw this. Darn simulation!
100% agree with Conan about the walkability/bikability of NYC vs. LA and loved the urbanism discussion. NYC may not be up to European standards for safety and ease of riding a bike, but it’s still wildly better than LA. In LA, like almost all sunbelt cities, it’s practically impossible to live your life without a car. In NYC, it’s not impossible. Heck, in Philly it’s not impossible. It’s stressful to walk places in LA because there’s no other option but to walk alongside busy arterial roads, sometimes without sidewalks and your destination is likely several miles away because of how low-density LA is. Despite the weather, I’ve never had any desire to live in LA because it seems to me like one enormous, car-dependent suburb with horrendous traffic and that they built right next to a desert so big surprise when Southern California has drought issues.
I’m liking Gorley more now that I’ve heard him ask the question I always think about asking whenever I watch/listen to some celebrity interview. “What does he/she/they smell like?” is such an important question.

If you got punched really hard in your Vagas nerve, yes, your eyes would be creepy and red from all the blood currently filing all the nooks and crannies around your eyeballz!!! If you want to visualize someone riding a bike, even CoCo's pasty butt, I'm guessing they would have to be in Vegas to do so, I don't believe you could navigate a person's nervous system too terribly well on a bicycle of any kind. Maybe if it's a really really tiny bicycle, one from 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids'? Maybe? IDK.....sorry, I've gone and tried to interact with people when I haven't had a night of sleep in days! My bad! Conan SHOULD interview Door Dash Delivery Rider! There must be a Celebrity, or at least a Socially local famous delivery rider would would make a great interviewee guest. A common, not-common, person interview of people we all both respect, and kick around a little.
That’s so funny because last time I went to Manhattan I walked about 12 in a day, and I am the furthest thing from healthy. You end up just walking and walking and walking. I went from Midtown to Central Park north, all the way to the financial district in lower Manhattan and then walked up to the village, and then back up to Times Square, and then back across town to my hotel near the UN. Craziness.
Sona and Matt aren’t jealous about Conan not taking them on his road trips as much as they are disappointed at missing a work related excuse for getting some time away from their families.
Would love to see Conan bike to Larchmont. He should get together with Ed Begley, Jr. who has walking, cycling, and taking pubtrans in LA on lock. Conan's point about LA's bad pedestrian infrastructure (disappearing sidewalks) is true, but Sona is also right that you don't have to let that stop you from walking entirely. The bike and the pickup truck is good you go to the gym and next thing you own the whole city park at a meter find a 2 hour unloading zone or a sketchy old corner just outside the city

Longshanks needs to be averaging at least a couple miles a day....base cardio. Way to go on the 10 miler pal. Are you shooting for at least 8000 steps a day? That's around 3 miles. Keep up the base cardio and toss in some cardio interval training when walking. Look for hills and inclines if you're old lilke me.
