- Cancelled and denied, the former multi-time, multi-game top Korean fighting game player gives some insight about the Korean fighting game scene, himself, and how he's navigating the world today.
A bit different from what I usually do. I want to start with an apology. This video should have come out sooner (like a year ago), but due to so many things going on and preventing me from working on this video when I really could have (a part of it being my terrible habits), I figured it's better late than never. Maybe this topic is controversial and will give me flack, but fuck it, I'll take the risk. People need to understand that some things in life aren't always black and white, just like this. Also, Infiltration was very kind to me and very patient (I certainly am not the only person in the FGC who will have nice things to say about him), and all the bs surrounding him aside he is genuinely very passionate about fighting games and bringing people together to enjoy them.
UPDATE: I had just found out that Fight Club has closed sooner than I thought. It had been closed a few months ago.

All i can say is, people shouldn't have to pay for a mistake their entire lives. We need to have compassion in allowing people to change and to show up as their best selves, today. Not in the past or the future, but today. We aren't going to be here forever and NONE of us want to be remembered for our own bad mistakes.
That can only happen if you repent and apologize, and do better. He has done none of that, instead spending his days crying about cancel culture and begging to be let back in.

Easily my favorite Korean pro player.
James Chen and more so Ultra David went out of their way to banish Infiltration. Reminder that there were already some crooked FGC members who were worse but had a friend circle to support them.
James Chen is retarded. He does little to no research on anything and will not back down when corrected. I've seen instances where he reposts snake eyes content under alt accounts to bait people.
This the friend circle stuff is wild. Not to speak ill of the dead but I believe it was Evo 2019 Floe had sexual assault allegations thrown his way which got swept under the rug. Art who is also a part of the friend circle when it first came out about him stealing money from matcherino's James Chen and Ultra Dave were quick to defend him.
What was always fishy to me is the Chris G banning was they brought up things from years ago he already apologized for to cancel him. F Champ made a joke that could be taken racist and bad timing and was cancelled for it. Both of whom Ultra Dave had issues with back from the UMvC3 days
@@exiaR2x78This is the first I heard of Floe having allegations, though at this point in the FGC I personally wasn't paying attention to it. Correct me if I'm wrong, was ChrisG given the boot around or during Covid lockdowns? I remember not just the FGC, but I believe it was the Smash community as well was spending time digging up dirt on each other to cancel.
@aznswordmaster1458 I think my reply got deleted by YT lol but yeah if you google floe accusations you should be able to find screenshots of the fb post with them. Also floes response. It got swept under the rug and we didnt hear much else who knows if it was true or not but was very serious accusations.
Yup Chris G was during 2020 they dug up stuff from like 5 years prior was very shady. The fact him and F champ cancelled within a week and the power ultra dave seems to have in the US FGC seems fishy. F Champ in the podcast him and Chris did with Infiltration seemed like there was bad blood between F champ and Ultra Dave

The FGC I feel like these days has become very, cliquey. Infiltration isn't the only person recently whose been given poor treatment despite trying to correct and learn from past wrongs. There was a lot of things with Infiltration's situations I've felt like was taken out of context with him but more, social justice minded members of the community be it small or big are very vocal about keeping Infiltration out. To a lot of these people, there's only one set of opinions your allowed to follow, breaking them means your an outcast to be banned from the community. There are a lot of things I have to stay quiet about when I'm with the community cause having wrong think out side of bad takes on a game is a social suicide in the community.
I always find it funny how people love a good redemption in fiction or big Hollywood stars but many of those same people wouldn't even extend that same chance to someone actively trying to.
He was fired from panda global after a judge ruled against him in a domestic violence case, IN KOREA OF ALL PLACES.
The FGC has long harbored problematic individuals, and when one of your talismanic figures is also engaging in this type of behavior then someone must do something or risk the ever waning reputation of the community.

@@necromax13 a few of the sources I've looked into about this case, it doesn't sound like a lot it is definitive and a lot of circumstantial evidence. The audio log that was mentioned sounds like it wasn't used in court in the end either.
Someone had pointed to a more famous case DV in Korea with the actor who, self deleted Lee Sun-kyun. I'm still looking around about this but if what I had heard is true that the police in Korea tend to try and get a guilty verdict to advance their career even if someone isn't, then it's very possible Infiltration wasn't guilty.
It's true the ex wife's wrist where brusied, if his word are to be taken at face value, she was smashing his trophies and he was trying to restrain her. If she was as messed up as he had presented her. I believe he has gone on record and admitted he had tried to hold her wrists and there is documented clinical evidence of brusies on the ex's wrist. Not an expert on this part but I'd like to think experts in that clinic can identify what type of brusies would be common if someone had gripped someone's wrist that much or if looks like some other cause. That's something I haven't heard mentioned about those clinical examinations. I mention this cause if he had hurt her through other means then his story starts to break apart.
Even in America there are cases where someone is found guilty by the law but not by public opinion. The example I had heard used on this was OJ Simpson. A more minor case but known in some circles was what happened to voice actor Vic Mignogna.
If it turns out Infiltration made it all up and he's lying, then yes I will willingly accept he's a horrible person that needs to be kept away and get help. Until it's debunked with no room for doubt there are going to be people who will question and would like to believe him, myself included.
@@aznswordmaster1458 Refer to my individual comment down there, but i'll give you the cliff notes: That audio recording and the transcription were thrown out of the case due to not being suitable as evidence, but both the testimonies and the forensics evaluation of the then wife are indeed suitable enough evidence for this.
Also, you do know that a sentencing can be overturned by a higher tribunal, right? "until it's debunked with no room for doubt" buddy, infiltration and his legal team have no grounds to dispute his conviction, and that's how legal systems work: If the accused, or the acquited, or the aggravated parties, or the district attorneys aren't disputing a sentence: THEN THE CASE IS TO BE TAKEN AS PROVEN OR DISPROVEN BEYOND DOUBT.
All I can say is that tournaments will be much more exciting with Infiltration in them.

Great video, this is something that not very many people have the courage to cover, and it shows that you put a lot of quality and effort into it. TOs are in a difficult position with regards to the optics and public pressure, but it requires a great deal of humility to offer people second chances, and even more so to observe and acknowledge people's growth from past mistakes. We would do a lot better to understand people's character in a "real life" sense rather than make brash conclusions in insincere faith behind a keyboard. But, given present circumstances, I'm afraid he won't be given that second chance.

capcom not specifying the reasons for banning someone FOR LIFE is insanity. infiltration should lawyer up immediately, not just send 2 emails, send 2000 emails to every capcom email box, representative, call every number ... fight like he does in the games
Hopefully Riot's fighting game will gain popularity and knowing infiltration and his skills, he'll defintely be top tier in that game and also hope riot will welcome him with open arms.

Is he one of the greats? Definitely. Is by itself his domestic violence case enough to get him banished from the FGC? Most definitely.
Let's not spin a narrative here though: You're specifically mentioning in the video that those transcripts from that recording made by his then-wife are modified and taken out of context, which is true, as that recording was also thrown out of the case by the judge because it was unsuitable as evidence.
What you're not mentioning is that paramedics took note of her injuries, and this is evidence validated by officials, what you're not mentioning is that the cops went TWICE to his household during the altercation. What you're not mentioning is that his organization (PG) did everything they could to keep him in the roster but when the smoke cleared, court documents showed he was 100% in the wrong.
And NO COMMUNITY should harbor ABUSERS, so don't give me this lame ass narrative of "allegedly" when there's an uncontested ruling on the case.
you forgot to mention "paramedics took note of her injuries" is from her wrist. If I remember correctly, the only bruise she had is from her wrist. So don't try to spin it as if he beaten her black and white in the face.
Also when he wanted a divorce, the ex-wife is the one who came back asking not to have one! And when the process were going through, she was trying to claim the house(flat) that he paid for! Does that even sound like he was a crazy abuser? fk no.
Note* Reported on multiple times that the "ex-wife had bruise wrist", which seems to be a couple having a heated exchange.
The medical reports (bruised wrist) were reported officially by Panda Global who did a thorough investigation.
The story of wife trying to claim his house/flat, this is mentioned by Infilitration himself, but no response from ex-wife during any of this altercation, as the Ex-wife refuse to speak out, and some of the original reddit "allegations" posts were soon deleted when Infiltration reportedly getting his own lawyer on the case.
