2:10 I completely agree with this. Guile and Zangief are the two major walls in Street Fighter that send most casual or new players packing. Zangief personally took me forever to figure out because he seemed so unstoppable once he got in range.
@waxcutter9813 by taking your time with him and parrying each boom as you get closer. Never play aggressively against a charge character like Guile. Baiting out a Flash kick is also a good counter to him. If he is standing, he can't flash kick. If he is walking forward, he can't sonic boom.
My best tip for beating zoners is to never get frustrated , they are trying to keep u frustrated so u either rush in and try to force an exchange and get punished, or u get beaten back with spam and accept ur fate of getting locked down and chipped to death. U have to be completely zen and play neutral till they get bored, practice ur combo confirms from stray hits and optimise ur burst options. Basicly u either want to develop neutral / defence so strong u weave in and out of their bullet hell while walking them down ,and they end up getting frustrated or stressed., or u develop an extremely strong pressure set up. Specifically against Ken’s fireball dp trap, neutral jump is ur friend, bait the uppercuts but be aware of another light dp on recovery , learn to react to the speed of every fire ball thrown , just because the last 8 are slow dosnt mean 9 won’t be fast.variations in fireball speed is how u mix up and condition the person trying to get in .
@@ParisPKbest advice is play the slow game because someone is going to get impatient eventually. If you control the pace of the game and just stay patient theyll try to get aggressive. To be fair to Luffen, he was grinding out GGST and attending tournaments since day one (including EVO 2021 Online victory as Chipp), so he's not exactly an "outsider" to GG scene. I don't like the dude, but his dedication to the game is genuine.
@@enzogonzalez7140 anime fighters like strive have rarely ever been actually difficult, they've always had outsiders come in and smoke the easier subgenre

My favorite part of the reaction to Leffen's EVO win this year is that you can't even fully blame it on him playing HC because people were way more excited about Umisho winning the prior year.
This video is making it look like Snake Eyez doesn't play Strive. Before the release of SF6, he was playing Strive all the time. It wasn't as if he just picked up the game to prove a point.
I was really happy when snake eyes came out to play strive in texas showdown. I love seeing players from other games come and do well, especially with underused characters. Snake eyes especially is super sick, seeing him pop out of nowhere in Super turbo HD remix was awesome. It's trash though, that him doing well is used as a bludgeon against the game. It couldn't be because of matchup unfamiliarity, it's not because snake eyes is a fucking GOD, no, it's that Street fighter is just so much more skillful then strive. What a cancer take.
Yeah so much of the stuff in this video is pretty disrespectful towards strive, I thought we left all of this street fighter supremacy stuff back in sf4
i wanna see some streetfighter players hop on tekken 7 and do some first to 10s or something lol this video is probably the worst of it partially because leffen is the canon fodder but the vibe im getting is that street fighter players think they have some secret knowledge thats hidden behind playing street fighter for 10+ years XD
0:21 "Mash 6P with Happy Chaos." I also find it funny that when "Pro" players see zoning and other shit like that, they justify it and tell the person dealing with it that theyre the problem and need to find a way around it, but when its leffen doing it, they ridicule him for it.
Not only did this mother fucker try to pick up Tekken, but he got a BUNCH of help. I mean a LOT. Then after getting whooped while cheesing his way with Zafina, this mother fucker betrayed the people who helped him. After, they came in and whooped his ass for free and he never went back. That's why he plays STRIVE. Cause the game is designed for creeps like him that never wanted to learn a series that no longer even remotely plays like how it use to be.
So I really don't like Leffen. I think he, as an individual, does not deserve respect. However, I do find some of this to be gatekeepy. People can play any and every fighting game and work towards success in all of them. Sure, gg and sf dont have a lot of overlap at the highest level. And sure, they are objectively very different. I'd even be willing to admit sf6 has more polish, especially at launch, then ggst. However, I do not think that makes a sf player better than a gg player.
Lies... 1:13 Snake had been playing and planning to compete using Potemkin at Texas Showdown for months, at least. He also said he was done with Strive after Texas Showdown a month before it happened. (He realized arcs systems or whatever intentionally made it so that when you press forward and back too fast, you get back dash. He went through all the games they touched and found that) Not a whim. He was playing Strive every stream in that time. Not a whim.
Why are these guys bashing him for playing cheap shit, 90% of the pros play the cheap shit. It's also foolish to bash this guy by assuming he can't adapt to the street fighter style of play. There's a good chance he can. I mean he was good at DBFZ and Strive, 2 games that were no where similar to Smash. What a bunch of crap.
@@exorder2005 people saying that new players can't adapt isn't new to SF to be fair, but it's just that SF is a franchise with a LOT more legacy players with a big following that it's not surprising a lot of loud toxic voices will talk shit on newcomers. Yeah, it's completely unfounded, and if Leffen enjoys SF6 I hope he gets to shut them up, but it's not a unique problem to SF
I love how pure and straight-forward his take on competition is. It's in direct contradiction with everything else that constitutes who and what he is as a man and professional fighting game player. A truly fascinating dichotomy.
I play GG Strive and the pros there aren't pro good compared to fighting games like SF, Tekken, KOF etc. It's just that there are barely any good players who take those games seriously. That's the case for most anime games. JimmyJTran who's a Tekken player just casually registered for UNIST at Evo and made top 3, and he didn't even mean to do that lol.
As much as I hate leffen, this comment is no bueno: 1. People from other games trying your game is a good thing, gatekeeping is weird as hell 2. Leffen was pretty decent at Fighter Z too 3. Even in GG, he's playing the same game as everyone else. It's not his fault the game is balanced like shit There's plenty to dunk on leffen about, but idk about this
Of course man, it’s real hard to compete in a melee tournament when you aren’t used to the smell of a venue full of autistic pedophiles who haven’t showered in years.
I think it has less to do with the competition and more to do with the skill set being different. leffen is a lab monster who can run his game plan better than anyone, but he can't play footsies. the fact that he leaves a game and calls it trash if he isn't godlike right away doesn't help, this is a guy who dropped cammy right away bc people were initially calling her mid and she wasn't degenerate enough. but I'd say it was a smarter decision to stick with strive and win evo than be mid juri player #17377
@@QGfk1 im sorry man but you can’t tell me leffen can’t play footsies when I watched him play melee for years. They’re different games and the neutral is different. 0:38 this statement ironically applies to Sonic fox someone who dominates game that are not that competitively large but once goes into game like sf and tekken he struggles, but people still call him “THE” goat for some reason like the only games he really was great at that had a large competitive scene was dbfz, but games like skull girls and mk are much more smaller
Dude Sonic fox did really well at EVO it’s not even comparable. Leffen on the other hand would be lucky to even make it out of pools. He was failing basic zoning fundamentals.
It’s not “for some reason” he plays at a competitive level every game he plays. Daigo is called the beast but looses a lot , does that diminish the skills he has demonstrated ?
I don't think Sonic is the goat, but I also don't think its fair to compare them. Sonic finished top 20 at sf6 evo. While Sonic is definitely another "big fish in a small pond" player, hes nowhere near as bad as Leffen is.
Leffen sucks ass, and you can rag on his appearance (as you should) all you want, but evidently your attempt at spelling approaching is about as solid as leffen vs punk in a FT10
I think the narrative of saying any street fighter player can easily win at GGST or that it is a higher skill game just because Snake Eyes did it dumb. He's one of the greatest players in the world and undeniably the best grappler specialist in the entire world playing a character that has alot more transferable skill into Strive with Potemkin. It's probably true that street fighter being a much larger game for an extremely long time the competition in it has grown the strongest players in probably any other fighting game. but alot of guilty gear players are better at the skills present in guilty gear like resource management, game knowledge, and risk/reward management than being good at reactions or footsies would. Maybe if punk got into guiltygear he'd destroy everyone, he is insanely good. but you don't see IDOM making alot of results in guilty gear.
I think this is because… most of the strive playerbase is newer, and hasn’t been playing fg’s for as long. You don’t really see those OLD school GG players playing strive. If they were, the skill gap might have been smaller.
the fuck do you mean? no one was applauding his victories in melee because that shit wasn’t earned. all the real competition, that is to say the melee gods, moved on to other shit like raising families. leffen has always been lame

PPMD? much worse player than leffen
I will say It definitely does feel like certain scenes have WAY more competitive players that makes winning big tournaments much more of a real challenge and a bigger achievement compared to others. I think its also a big reason why it took so long for someone like even Sonic Fox to really start getting actual respect because he had to play other games that aren't just NRS games before people actually started to see him as a genuinely a great player. In a lot of ways if you aren't in either Street Fighter, Tekken, or Melee then you're almost a second rate citizen even if you're great at what you do
You really really did your best to edit Snake out of context to make him sound like a hater when he was actually dissaproving of people booing him off the stage. On the acne thing, yeah he did that, but he clowns on people all the time, even Punk.
There's is no effort on my part to make Snake seem like a hater. He was mostly reading messages in chat, which i tried to convey by writing "CHAT:" followed by whatever they said like at 5:57 so that viewers know it wasn't snake himself that said it. He definitely didn't disagree with their messages most of the time, which is fine, he doesn't dislike leffen for no reason. Leffen has a very toxic history and has tried to discredit snakes wins in the past. Even if snake was a hater it would be kinda justified, but yeah, he's not.
Anyone want to elaborate on Leffen "toxic" history? Because so far I only get vague answers about him throwing groomer allegations against another Smash Bros player and getting Zero (who is confirmed to be a groomer) to almost take his existence away from himself unalive himself m outside of that it's also just "he is toxic, he is mean etc etc" ._.
Dude good compilation vid, but you clearly have a heavy bias against games that aren't SF lmao. "For context", SnakeEyez did not enter TexasShowdown to "prove a point". He had been grinding GGST since it had released, streaming for hours each day, and didn't initially compete due to the pandemic. Texas Showdown is also NOT a major, and the tournament he won had 239 registrants for GGST. Like, it's good and all to show people making fun of Leffen, but don't talk shit to other communities, especially when you're deadass wrong.
I meant that i included that clip of him winning texas showdown with pot in this video to prove his point that he made at 1:03 . Not the he entered the tourney to prove a point. Had i feeling that sentence might get misunderstood. As far is my bias goes, yes when it comes to 2D fighters i do see SF as more skillfull than many others.

That wasn't the point of including that clip, the point was, Leffen couldn't even win a Texas showdown level event in SF6, at least snake could get a small W in Strive. With Pot no less. Leffen went to headstomper 2023 for SF6, Swedish tournament, 200 player bracket, no SF player of note attended, tierwhored with Juri Han, and STILL got washed.
@@Hxnsson It wasn't very clear in the video and the way it was edited tbh, Melee is just much of a timesink as SF6 so it makes sense leffen would not have results there, it also felt that you wanted to display that there's a sentiment among the FGC that games that are not SF6 and Tekken are just inherently easier or less competitive, which is harmful towards those games and unfair towards anime fighters like strive, remember that on its day during the pandemic strive carried the FGC while sf5 and tekken were both a netcode and release cycle nightmare.
So people are saying that Leffen. Somebody that has been playing other games isn’t that good in street fighter, the game he plays the least when competing with people that play that shut full time.

Any tips against a zoner? I’m new to street fighter and I’m having the time of my life but Ken was spamming fireballs and uppercuts
He's a 2 time Evo GG Strive champion and a 3rd place runner up, he did well in DBZ fighters before he dropped it. It's time to stop with downplaying his skill, you can hate him all you want, dude is extremely cringe and annoying at times but his skill in fighting games is commendable.
The amount of salt generated in the comment section is amazing.
Please please what is the remix song with mf doom and westside Gunn
Do snake eyez and leffen have beef or some kind? The acne comment is uncalled for lol
DAMN snake eyez is such a hater i never realized how hard he be hating
Short people
The only guy with a good take on the video is Punk, the rest just sound really salty talking about characters and tiers when HC won evo last year and nobody gave a shit. Its funny how its always the mediocre pro players that talk the most shit.
snake eyez is not a mediocre player and leffen is just shitty as a human being which is the actual reason he gets hate
Maybe because the guy who won last year wasn't a toxic pos like leffen?
You know. Relevant information you leave out of your "argument".
And LOL
Snake Eyez and Punk mediocre? Bruh, you saltier than the ocean and just exposed it.
People talk about him using HC because everyone knows he treats people terribly whenever he loses or when he gets in an argument. He's a scumbag
What’s the westside Gunn song at the end though?
not sure what the remix name is, but that's his verse off of 2 Stings ft. MF DOOM. cheers!

LOL that beginning segment is the funniest I've ever seen punk 😂😂😂 I think I need to start watching his stream lol
i can agree on some of punk point but damn i was expecting snake eyez to be more mature (i dont know if anything happened between those two btw)
Snake Eyez sounds like a total hater but he's properly intuited that Leffen is indeed kind of a scumbag. He's probably not even aware of how Leffen has been saying shit that's out-of-pocket and making himself a pariah in the Smash scene for ages. idk if his behavior has been bad recently, but I know he's been considered controversial since like the pre-Smash 4 years.
If you thought he was mature, you have not seen his streams.
leffen deserves it though, he might possibly have the most devoted fans for absolutely no reason if you spend 10 min checking the shit he's done. trash person deserves getting trashed.
also a happy chaos player on top of it.
Snake eyes be more mature?! LMAO you really haven’t seen anything leffen has done have you? Leave it to blind hypocritical fanboys
It's a little strange cause sajam dunked on snake eyez for saying dumb shit like SF players are so much better than players in any other fighting games during the sf4. Looks like he is regurgitating the same shit from 10 years ago 😞
Only 7 minutes? Rookie numbers.
