Breaks my heart to learn she was traumatized by her ANTM experience. She’s an extremely talented and strong woman and it saddens me to see the show affect somebody’s life that much in such a negative way.
this is show how much britains tv production were so much more “ethical”.because it seems like Alisha and Louise were shocked by how ridiculous ANTM behind the scenes.
There was a controversial photoshoot in Alisha's BNTM cycle where the girls had to pose in a middle of a Norwegian blizzard wearing practically nothing but plastic bottles.
BNTM is considered the 'boring' anti climatic style but at least they let the contestants relax and talk to the crew and there's something to be said for a naff set and less drama
Alisha, you are stunning and strong. It takes a strong woman to admit she is seeking counseling and is still traumatized and yes someone with feelings. It is called Narcissitic abuse, been there and done that with an ex of mine. I am old enough to be your mom, I wish I could just reach out and hug you, you stay stong and be the queen you already are. We love you in the USA, my favorite girl of the season.
I'm so sad Tyra dimmed her light. Alisha was the SOLE reason I tuned in for this cycle. Yes I love the other Brits but Alisha was one of my all-time faves. I figured she had the best shot at winning. But to hear this from her hurt my heart. Alisha is right...how is tyra not embarrassed by the damage she did?
Can you interview Azmarie in the future? I want to know her thoughts having being eliminated just because she refused to do learn Tyra's booty tooch class (which I thought was so cringe-worthy)
Alisha was BORN to act!!! We saw that in the music video & the confidence commercial. She’d be such an amazing television host/news anchor. She’s hilarious, too. I need her to have her own show.
@@gloalisha You were brilliant during your commercial, & very sincere interacting with the sweet girl you were partnered with. Eff ANTM! I’d love to see you as a host or correspondent. 😍
Hearing how Alisha felt reminds how lost I felt during graduate school. It feel awful. Luckily, I had people around me that helped me. I can only imagine what Alisha went through being left alone through that at such a young age!
Cycle 18 was one of the worst of the entire ANTM franchise. After watching this interview it gives a great deal of insight into the why. Alisha girl, you're amazing.
I didn't care for this cycle either and I was hoping that I would because I liked Alisha on BTNM. She was actually my pick to win,but this cycle was meh. I did like Louise and Anneliese.
I'll just echo what Alisha said "THE BULLIED BECOMES THE BULLY" I mean, we all saw that one coming.. This is by far my most favorite, most genuine, most heartfelt ANTM spills that you have and by far the most non holds bar unlike the other chat that's all about book promotion. 💅🍵 Sending all of you loves from the Philippines.
I'm an "old" ANTM fan, I only watched seasons 1-7 before moving on. I didn't see the season that this young lady was in, but she is stunning, and so, so, so well spoken. I wish I were half as articulate as she is and I'm twice her age! I've been binging a lot of ANTM information on youtube lately and I'm horrified at how abusive it was behind the scenes. I'm so proud of all these young ladies for having the courage to speak out and I'm so sorry for what they went through. For what its worth, Tyra never impressed me, it was always the girls that shined and kept me watching and rooting for them.
The producers definitely DESTROYED her confidence and mental psyche. Robbed in BNTM when she should've won period! Anyways Alisha is iconic her lines in the video slayeddd. I still quote and hum to it this day. QUEEN!
I can't help to feel some type of way with Tyra. In the interviews you done with the Black ANTM girls so far, I hate say it, but you can see there is a continuous bias of certain black girls Tyra rooted for, showed support & ones she rooted, but gave them a hard time. That's far I wanna say. Unless everyone wants to point the obvious. That's what it feels for me.
I'm 100% sure that you'll get all sorts of answers when you ask ALL ANTM contestants. There will be some who are very thankful, some who already moved on but will think "yeah, it was a great experience" and others who left the show unhinged regardless of skin color but when only the ones who have something to say against Tyra (and are preferably Black) are being interviewed, of course it will give off the impression that Tyra has something against Black contestants. Big chunk of it is bias confirmation.
@@vsfs.compendium ... if you didn’t notice the way Tyra spoke to dark skinned Black girls on that show you were (probably intentionally) not paying attention.
As someone who deals with depression I absolutely saw in her eyes how she felt. I absolutely adore her and I’m so glad she’s her happy self that I watched on Britain’s
How they did her for the elimination thing was extremely effed up. I’m starting to think Tyra really let these shoes and her success just change her as a person. Like at this point sis doesn’t even get that she’s caused some damage.
They set up her to win?? How? If production picked the worst photo every other week so she was up and down , Tyra be cold as ICE to her and the people didn´t care if she was ok ( except Miss Jay ) .. and then select her as the winner? You would think it’s petty and evil how Tyra treats those girls who resemble Naomi or have a sort of connection with Naomi, badly. However, i think it’s kinda sad. Tyra was a kid when the industry was trying so hard to make them fight. She was definitely traumatized
Not gonna lie, I would LOVE to see Tyra, Tyra’s Mom, and Naomi on Iyanla Fix My Life. I need to know what happened here and why she is traumatizing all these chocolate women!

1:43:50 "We can count who are actually successful. We can count how many are actually eating." Gosh, my mind went straight to Jael, to Mirjiana, to Kimberly, to Renee...
Wow, the tea regarding Tyra is really disappointing to hear. During cycle 1, when the girls were eliminated Tyra would go back to the girls hotel room and sit down and have a heart to heart with them and give them advice on what to do next. Ken Mok did put a stop to that after Cycle 1. As Tyra got wealthier and more famous, she changed. This isn't that uncommon at all for celebrities and people in the public eye. Fame and wealth changes you, a lot of the time for the worse.
I wonder if she made herself unaccessible, everyone would expect something from her. Maybe she put the wall up to avoid that, maybe she wasn't equipped for mentoring life, i think it can be draining. Or maybe she knew production were going to do these girls dirty and it was better that she wasn't close enough to them to feel emotional about it. Show business is cutthroat.
I followed cycle 1 elyse’s live journal after the show way back in the time! I remember she briefly talk about her experience in antm and said Tyra didn’t care any of them at all.
@@Taku10619 Expecting Tyra to care for all of them are wrong expectations. Tyra offered them an opportunity with the show. She's not there to hold anyone's hands and guide them through the show. Some models like ungrateful Winnie Harlow said that the show did nothing for them because they expected the show will take care of everything for them. Nope.
@@vsfs.compendium ANTM was a reality television show where every single contestant earned their spot. The were working 16-20 hr days and only getting per diem to feed themselves. They owed Tyra nothing. It’s incredibly weird and darn near idol worship to think Tyra was doing them a favor by ruining their public reputations, paying them almost nothing and breaking down their confidences. People who were given a mean girl edit like Winnie Harlow often found it incredibly hard to work after because the way it’s affected their brand. Tyra is a human being.
I really like Alisha after watching his interview. I watched all of the cycles when they aired in the UK but I think I stopped watching after this cycle because the show just got bizarre and pretentious. As I got older, I could see how narcissistic Tyra was and how it was all about her. It sickened me and I'm glad that other people are waking up to it and it's all coming out. The Tiffany rant never sat right with me and it made me think that Tyra was a psycho. She totally has the crazy eyes. Even though Naomi can be mean and I would never want to be in her presence, I respect her because she's upfront about who she is. Tyra put on the friendly big sister facade, when she was absolutely cruel. It's also pathetic that she's triggered by dark skinned girls. I never bought into the idea that they were only being cruel to the contestants because they want to prepare them for the industry. They ARE the industry. Tyra and co were the people that the younger generation were looking up to - they could have changed the culture of the fashion industry by being kind. But they used it as an excuse to inflict pain on the people below them. Finally, I'm not impressed with Jay Manuel pretending like he was against everything when I'm sure he participated in the toxic environment. He only cared about Tyra's behaviour once he was on the receiving end of it. He used to make bitchy comments all of the time on the show. They all suck and I would never want to be part of Hollywood and the fashion industry. I would definately have a breakdown.
If you rewatch old episodes it’s definitely apparent that he was very complicit in the toxicity of photo shoots (he was actually a main enforcer as Tyra wasn’t even there for most of them). He’s really full of bs rn
YES to everything you just said/typed! Especially the stuff about Mr Jay, he was and still is as phoney as Tyra was/is! He knows it would cost him his career if he stuck by the decisions he and Tyra made back then, that's why his Phoney Gap azz pretends to have issue with it now and blame it all on the show/the producers but miss thang was the CREATIVE DIRECTOR so we can NOT just let him just sit and act like he didn't know what was going on till it was too late and that it "bothered" Him. Honestly really breaks my heart to hear how these young hopeful ladies were traumatized by the very same lady they admired and revered. I literally just unfollowed Tyra on social media out of support for anyone who has been affected by the mistreatment. I will always love ANTM for the entertainment value but I can't endorse Tyra anymore and you know what? That's ok with me. She'll still survive without my follow ship - I just hope all the girls affected can/have grown and bounced back. Thanks for sharing Alisha with us.
When Marvita and Tiffany auditioned the first time, they were mental wrecks and Tyra paid for therapy so they could get their act together and audition again. Tyra also paid for Isis' gender reassignment so she can become the closest to a woman. But what do you do? One bad word about Tyra and you immediately unfollow her. Very petty.
@@vsfs.compendium With all due respect, I won't be complicit with it but its no shade to Tyra the real person. I will always love ANTM for the enter-taint-ment.

I didn't even need to see all these interviews. I saw part of Tyra's interview with Naomi (it was so gross I couldn't finish it) and I knew that everything that Tyra said or did during the entire run of Top Model, was an extension or reflection of the beef, however real or imagined, between the two of them. She projects either herself or Naomi onto every girl she meets and feels the need to dole out either punishment or redemption accordingly. She can't let someone feel happiness, sadness, confidence, or growth unless she can take credit for it. She is a malignant narcissist and a fucking monster.

I'm just here to say that I'm disappointed in all of ya'll that dragged Winnie for saying the show did not help because live after live posted by Oliver, Winnie was RIGHT. And the fact that Eva dragged Winnie is because Eva went from REALITY TV to REALITY TV while everyone else was out here tryna model. 🤷🏽♂️
Exactly what I thought too, Winnie was so right and people dragged her, she is a model not a reality TV star and that's the difference and that's why she said that. Winnie is amazing ❣️
This is hands-down my favorite interview. I liked Alisha back in her season, but I've developed a stronger appreciation for her after this interview. She is incredibly raw and real about the dangers of reality television, and all this enforces why ANTM will work with modern-day audiences if it were filmed the same way today. You can tell how much she's worked over the years to find the positive growth from her experience on ANTM, but how much it's been clouded by some genuinely traumatic experiences. I have so much respect for her and wish her the best.

@@lqkim9756 Nonsense
@@selina5598 I prefer the low key style of BNTM and Australia too. Less of a vehicle for Tyra to ham it up

QUEEN!
If you could contact the girl from UK that stormed off the show please! I need details on what really happened🤔

I came back to watch the end of this stream and just want to say how considerate and kind it was of her to ask Oliver about him and his music, etc. She seemed truly interested in the answers to the questions she asked. Which is normal for people to do in real life but when someone is being interviewed, it’s just so rare to see. She seems like she has a very good heart
You would think it’s petty and evil how Tyra treats those girls who resemble Naomi or have a sort of connection with Naomi, badly. However, i think it’s kinda sad. Tyra was a kid when the industry was trying so hard to make them fight. She was definitely traumatized

1:43:50 "We can count who are actually successful. We can count how many are actually eating."
Gosh, my mind went straight to Jael, to Mirjiana, to Kimberly, to Renee...
Fame and wealth changes you, a lot of the time for the worse.
but its not surprising
Thank youuuuuuuuu

When Marvita and Tiffany auditioned the first time, they were mental wrecks and Tyra paid for therapy so they could get their act together and audition again. Antm was traumatic for so many models.... I hope they get reparations

Omg, she’s so stunning. So high fashion. Thank you beautiful young lady for pouring so much out❤️ I got teary eyed hearing Alisha talking about the trauma.
Uuuggghhhh. I have been soooo damn excited for this interview! I’m _so_ glad that it’s here! I **love** Miss Alisha soooo damned much! She’s definitely one my all-time-favorite ANTM contestants! (Alisha, Dani/Danielle, & Aminat!)
Thank you soooo much, Oliver!!
