It’d be cool if you both had a different ROE and didn’t know about your opponent’s, so either of you could unknowingly trigger the other to fire because you crossed X boundary, locked the other, or flew too aggressively towards the other

Legit. He flies the 16 all the time. Would be nice to see him fly something else once in a while, that isn't the F-14/15E/18/16 or any of the FC3 planes.
That would defeat the purpose of the engagement. The skill is not knowing what your opponent is doing and taking action. The tension for us viewers is like riding along with GS as he reveals how to counter against all odds.... not knowing what his opponent is doing. His tactic worked, got him over the water.

2:39 the underside of the mirage looks like the place where they store those missiles, stright up the "missile aisle" of like a home depot or something. looks like cutlery in a drawer.
A shame no one armed the Mirage 2000 with the Meteor. India and France both dipped their toe into the water on it but neither committed. I guess both will be going all-Rafale pretty soon, so it didn't make financial sense, but still would've been cool!
France certainly is. As for India, well, the Rafale is only going to join the zoo of Flankers, Fulcrums, Jags and Tejas variants alongside the venerable M2000s that have only recently been through a major upgrade.
For a while, I thought this was going to be the first GS video to end without a single shot being fired. But the Mirage just had to start something and as a result, ended up with a nice little ticket to AMRAAM City. You should do this again against a Greek Rafale since Greece also got some Meteor missiles when they purchased the planes.
Awesome fight. Man, the Mirage is a sexy looking fighter. I know I might get some hate for saying that, but that bottom view with the missiles was sweet. I know Australia had Mirages before the F/18 and just think for such an aged fighter they look great. Great video as always. Still would like to see you in a Mirage and J10. Keep em coming.

Cyprus map is well modeled. kyrenia, nicosia, gecitkale (lefkoniko) and Beşparmak mountains (kyrenia mountains) look like the real thing. The Dogfight seems to have taken place on the Turkish side of the island.
Could dropping tanks be useful in a BVR fight? Is it possible the tanks could decoy incoming missiles? Also, have you ever determined the result of dropping tanks over civilian inhabited areas? Have your tanks ever done damage to buildings or people on the ground? I know this is simulation, but it is still interesting to me.
Dropping the tanks in BVR won’t have any effect on the incoming missiles because they don’t emit anything. Dropping tanks in dcs doesn’t do any damage too to the land or civilian areas, the damage that they could do isn’t modeled at least in DCS. As for the utility of dropping tanks in BVR the most you can get i think is more maneuverability but as far as for other things they will not help :)
@om3gaa-_-849 also worth noting on the Mirage 2000 and the F-15E having external ordnance increases RCS so you can get picked up further away. But mostly, dropping tanks makes it easier to accelerate and maintain speed, which obviously is critical in BVR.

I wanna see a border dispute play out between two totally non-neighboring countries like Japan vs South Africa. Just trying to explain how such a border dispute could take place would be entertainment in itself. Either that or a dispute between two totally non-threatening, milk-toast countries like Switzerland vs Canada or something. They could shoot each other down while being polite about it LOL

I just wish we could get the 2000-5 as an upgrade for the 2000c, I just want a competitive mirage man. I can't even look forward to modules cause they either add to the American powehouse, side with the american powerhouse, or are stuck in development limbo, or just don't add anything to the general dcs experience.
Turkey HAS NOT f-16 viper at all. Greece has currently have 18 rafale f3r. They also have 24 mirage 2000-5. They also have 5 F-16 vipers which will gradually become 83 in total.
TBH, I was rooting for the Mirage. I was hoping he’d close the gap after his last Fox 3 and it’d go to the merge. He really kept GS on his toes till the end.

mayb this is an idea. do like 10 (possible) bvr fight where it is random who is gonna attack like u and the dude ur flying against is gonna get a yes or no out of a randomizer and if its a no to u u cant be the first 1 to shoot. sorta like the coldwar.

I think he did, but since GS went defensive almost immediately at top speed, the Mirage couldn't close much distance until GS turned to recommit.
