Thx for all the help, Alek! I am at 357 listings and my numbers match pretty close. All time views 1937, visits 1131 and 10 orders and one listing with 11 in the cart. I try to get 5+ quality listings per day. I want 500+ listings by the start of the 4th quarter and 1000 by years end. So far, so good :) PS - I have a ticket for your event in September! Looking forward to it!
Hi Alek. Thank you so much for putting this information in a format I can even understand! I'm just shy of 1000 listings but my stats are just shy of the averages you spoke of. I am going to take a good look at them all and see what I need to do to be ready for Qtr 4. Thank you again for sharing with us!
Your definition of views is incorrect… a view is when someone clicks on your listing, a visit is all of the UNIQUE people that visit your listings. If you believe that 50% of people that view your listing click on it, then you’re crazy! That figure in reality is generally about 1-2% and can only be found out if you look at your Etsy ad performance
Hi Alek. I truly appreciate your videos! They are super helpful and most importantly honest. I was wondering how you do niche research now that etsy doesn't show the number of results, and instead shows "1000+ results"
Hi Alek, I have been following your videos and have been trying to create a creating mat on figma for a mug but can not figure it out, I have mug mockups but not a mug creating map in figma. Please help me.
Very informative! How should we think about listings versus time? You've shown us that you put up 4000 listings and then averaged 90/profit per item, with it seems the vast majority of the profit coming from a relatively small number of listings that "hit." If I understand you correctly, that 90 is at a moment in time - when you take the snapshot and you compute the profit to that point for the 4000 listings. But the "successful" listings continue to produce at least to some degree over time - yes?? In other words, even if you did not change anything, wouldn't your profit be higher a year later, two years later? Of course that is not what you would do, you would continue to add listings. But trying to understand. Does 90 then actually understate things???
what is your pricing structure on Etsy? Have to sell a boat load of products to make money when you only make $5 to $8 maybe depending on what it is. Would love to know how you price on etsy.
Hmmm, you said you'd prove it, but didn't. Please have me eat crow and prove the dashboard is your shop - any of "your shops." The mug example listing wasn't from your shop 🤔🐦⬛
For your shop data, I don’t think etsy counts views as impressions. Doesn’t it consider views the amount of different items they view on your shop after they visit?
@Alek, so views are like impressions, your listing showing up on a customers screen? Are you sure, there are many sources that seem to indicate views are click throughs to your listing and visits are a measure of unique sessions. In which case trying to get the ratuon of views to visits as close to 1 (100%) makes no sense. Rather lots of views and low visits.means you have shoppers explring many listings on your shop. There's no clear definition of views as far as i can see on Etsy's help pages but they do define visits.
Same principal applies. If someone is looking at all the products in your shop (unlikely but whatever), and they don't click on any, then you're not getting them interested in your products enough to click through. It might change your ratio, but it doesn't change the underlying issue.
@@alekSheffy you misunderstand. It's not a conversion metric if views and visits are not what you assume. I think views are click-throughs and visits are sessions. So you will always have views a bit more than visits.
I opened a store 10 years ago, and now I'll start selling, should I open a new store or keep the same one because it shows it was opened 10 years ago and no sales, what should I do, I'll appreciate your answers, thank you very much.
Hey Alek , really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail and also help you with the overall youtube strategy and growth ! Pls let me know what do you think ?
I managed to make tshirt 3 sales but holy moly there's so much fees like international fees etc. I'm selling on US market from Australia. My profit ended as only 10%. a bit demotivating tbh
So, I have been watching you for a while now and I really want to start POD! I have a question! When someone places an order on you Etsy shop, do you have to pay for the order while you wait to have the funds released? Thats what I heard, and it's been keeping me from starting! I found either printful or printify now as of a year ago have a store front which is free and since it's based on their site then the money upfront for the POD order isn't needed bc the person purchased straight from the supplier's website! I've heard both yes and no and I'd really love to use my art, and I would love to be able to showcase my Ai work as well but I don't not have the funds to cover purchases. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm a single momma and financially im breaking even on a monthly and doing this along with other side hustles would really put my family in a different place, and I am an amazing artist and great with customers and I love to make art and help people so this would be a dream come true if i can find a free way to start. I don't mind paying and if I had a credit card or something I would of already started! Thank you for your time!
I got on printful and found the answer to that one! So Im going to refind the store front within one of these POD direct sites to payments go to them so i dont have to have anything in my printful wallet!
Its called a printify pop up shop and you dont need to have money in your wallet to upload your art onto thier products eliminating the middle man and if you make yourself and online presence and just be a content machine and talk about your products and put a link in the whatever... it will make up for not having etsy pay for your traffic> Feel me?
His definition of views isn’t correct. What your stats mean is that 12 people looked at 14 of your products in your store in total. So 10 people only viewed 1 item and 2 people viewed 2 items (or 11 people viewed 1 item and 1 person viewed 3 items). Ideally you want a healthy ratio between views and visits, so people look at more items in your shop on average. Hope this helps!
Alek i have a problem with creating an etsy acc because of my country, i have everything i need to start my business, it's just only that I'm from Serbia that doesn't allow me to start, i don't want to put false information because i could get banned, can you help me somehow to solve this problem.
