Late to the party but if you don't have emissions, I suggest pipe with double cherry bombs and nothing else. Sounds great, cheap, easy, and definitely made my Mk4 2.0 feel like a different car!

So before changing the coil packs when you were pressing on gas just a touch was almost dying? That's something that I have on my VR6 and also it runs rough...(not crazy but just enough so I can feel it at idle while being stationed). And also when I rev the engine between 800-1200rpm it shakes even more but gets smooth after that...
Guys im struggling... I replaced headgasket on my 1.6sr akl motor and now its sounds like its bogging and backfiring out of intake... Timing is 100% and i replaced airmass and temp sensons but still nothing... Please help

I have this engine in my 99 Bora… do you have to remove anything to get at the plugs???

No 16V Variants existed from factory, so Variant is either 2.0 8V or VR6...
Not true. It came with 1.4 16v and 1.6 16v from factory
