I thought the pivot link in the center was NOT suppose to be vertical at ride height/half travel. I though it was suppose to be angled 5 or 10 degrees With the bars parallel to the ground.
You’re right about the 5 degrees. At half travel my pivot point is about 5 degrees. My ride height is a little lower than my half travel which moves the bars slightly. The main factor in a watts link is that both rod sizes are equal and the angles are equal. As you saw in the video, by checking the center at all ride heights. As long as everything stays centered during travel then the middle pivot point angle isn’t a factor. I centered my middle pivot with the bar all the way compressed, knowing I could extend them to achieve the slight angle at half travel. I hope that makes sense and thanks for your comment!
I have the Kp watts link along with their 6 link setup. I have no complaints other than I think it's kinda ugly..just my opinion. You are right about the notch part. I had installed some notches from AVS prior to bagging my truck and when I went to install my watts link, I ran into a little bit of trouble. However the guy that designed that watts link and 6 link was able to make it work for me

This is not changing te position of the diferencial I have panthard bar and he moved 1 to one side i like if it’s up and dow straight the body to the chassis
That propeller in the center IS NOT supposed to be perfectly vertical. If you’re looking at your vehicle on this video….the top of that propeller needs to be slightly to the drivers side. I really hope since the making of this video you’ve adjusted it properly
Thanks for the detailed video! I ordered mine right after I saw it. Quick question: My bars need the heim joints welded in and yours appear to have come welded in already (and look shorter than mine). Any advice on measuring them before welding in case I need to cut them down? I guess I'm wondering how do I know the length they should be, even though I know they are have some adjustability? Also, will the shorter pivot brackets, like yours, lessen my amount of travel...Or does it matter much?
Did you order the kit I had linked? If you did, you shouldn’t need to weld the heim joints in. Go to ride height and center your middle bar, meadure from center to center and make it an inch shorter for the watts bar.
What’s the measurement from the back of diff to the back part of links, my fuel cell is back there I want to know if I had enough room for the watts links kit. Thanks
i was always taught the pivot bar should be level at mid travel as opposed to ride height. guess it really does not matter on a system that will not use the complete travel.
Do you know if the parts are the same with a smaller notch? I think I have a 3" c notch on my frame. I definitely want to do this just want to make sure I get the correct kit.
Just had this put on my 2002 ecsb silverado. Itching to go pick it up from the shop (today or tomorrow). To hell with that panhard setup! lol Watts is the only way I'll ever go.
@simple.c10 I put about a hundred miles on it yesterday...confidence restored!!! Towards the end...I smashed the throttle from a stop and let her eat...no wheel hop or awkward suspension flex. Man it felt great to feel the beast come out again! (LQ9 mild tune, 4L60, 4.11s)
I've many videos on a watts link doing research for my 64 F100 and your video is very well done and very relatable to me as a DIY'er. Thank you for sharing!!!!
Great video. Was wondering if this is a universal kit or is it specific to the C-10? After doing some research, it is only mentioned for Chevrolets. As I have two Ford pick-ups I'm doing work on and would like to add a watts link to both of them, this kit caught my eye. Have a good one.
@@SIMPLE.C10 Outstanding. I mean, I could build one from scratch, but I'd have to source all the parts. This would make that much easier. Thanks again for posting this. Take it easy.

A pan hard allows the rear end to shift left and right during suspension travel. A watts link will keep it centered at any height. It’s less about horsepower and more about stability during air ride travel. I’ve used panhard and it can work flawlessly in the right setup.

@simple.c10 thks ill work it out but it strange that most utubers doing this all ways pass it off rather just give a part number but we live in bad time thks will not bother you again
If I am drag racing on the street or strip, Is a watts link necessary? Is the watts link basically for bag vehicles? The looks is awesome but I can't afford to waste money if it really isn't necessary. I'll simply go with a triangle link or four link.
From the back of the rear of me to the back of the bracket is 6 inches. I had to get a new rear crossmember to give me more room to scoot the gas tank back.
Do you have a way/link for others to contact Alex for parts ,I need parts made for my mini truck.

I believe it sticks back about 9 inches and then you need some clearance from there.
Do you remember which u-bolts and blocks you used. I bought the watts kit, tinworks trailing arms from you so I want to use what you use 100%
It’s the velaworks rear diy slam kit from my website.
Ok thanks sir. Those blocks look a lot bigger in pic then they do on truck!!
@@DallasRCracing you have to cut them down to whatever size you need. If you have tinworks arms you cut them down to 3 inches instead of 4

I just bought a rear sway bar for my 1957 Chevy truck. I sure wish I had seen this first.
A sway bar can be used in addition to a watts link since they do different things.

Once I got everything lined up I extended both rods about an inch that put the Z angle in it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I believe you are correct!
You’re correct, my “ride height” was the middle of travel for my truck. My rear bags will inflate 10 inches so I set it at 5 inches inflated.

Maybe I missed it in the video but how much suspension travel does this set up have?
About 10 inches b
Can you use this for non bagged trucks?
Yes you can!
What dimensions are your wheel cribs
They are 16x16 and stacked 9 high
install a grease fitting in that rubber bushing.
Do you have a suggested part? Please link. Thanks.
Brother. Can this watts link handle 430 horse power? Or do you recommend the bolt on from kp?
I like them both. Not sure about the HP since this is the first one I’ve ran.

Yes, No worries on that JP.
Good afternoon. Great job. Is it possible to lift this whole system a little to the top. weld reinforced sheets on the bridge at the ends.
I would say anything is possible with the right fabrication skills. It works well as it is.
Thank you very much, I understand you all the best and good success.
Isn’t using a adjustable pan hard bar better then using the watts link? Watts link takes up a ton of space and it’s not like you’re making 1000 hp.
A pan hard allows the rear end to shift left and right during suspension travel. A watts link will keep it centered at any height. It’s less about horsepower and more about stability during air ride travel. I’ve used panhard and it can work flawlessly in the right setup.

What paint and color were used for your frame, rear end and watts link?
I used the rust oleum truck bed coating spray paint. The textured stuff. Don’t use rubberized undercoating. Worst stuff ever.
@@SIMPLE.C10 is that a satin or flat?
@@chadhebert1776 the truck bed coating is considered a matte finish. It’s not glossy because of the sand type texture but looks really nice.
