I hope you can make a video on how to manage your trim/body positioning especially going around as near to the walls with corals or over the corals or sea creatures as possible without destroying or scaring them. Also, how to safely manage upward/downward currents. Worst case scenarios (what to do in case a dive equipment like weight belts gone, BCD inflator failure, air tank failure, lost flashlight and no backup during a night dive, etc etc) Lastly, what are the ways for effective air consumption. I knew somebody who only had consumed 80 bar of air for 55 min dive with small current. I know it's a lot. But I feel you guys can provide a very good insight on these things. I have been eagerly watching your videos. All the best!

wow !! First of all, I did the PADI advanced course and our navigation portion was something I never understood to this day, I literally had to go to a point then turn 180 back but really didn't get how this supposed to be done so I eyeballed the target. Finally I know what's up with all this and clearly understand how to use the rotating piece so eterlnally greatful for this. On the other hand, the quality of your videos are off the chart, please keep then coming !!!

This was the exact video I needed clear, concise instructions with demonstration. I have a good reference video. If I get stuck on something I can just reference back to this and hopefully work my way through it.

I was curious what the subject would be on your next video, and I must say this is a life saver! I had numerous people trying to explain to me how to use a compass, but I never really understood it, and thought there must be something wrong with my brain 😂 Now I see that maybe they didn't really understood it themselves, hence they were not able to explain it properly. Honestly your videos are sooo helpful in every way! Please keep up the good work as I think there are many divers out there benefiting from watching your videos!! Not to mention the quality of your recordings.. just WoW! And btw look at that landscape! 😮 Amazing! Thank you so much!!!

Great topic and really fantastic execution, not so many divers or dive videos can explain it like you guys do. Keep up the great work. Thank you for sharing your experience with us 😊.

Brilliant content as ever. Really informative and just whats needed if only sort of understanding the manual. I like to mount my compass on a 50mm velcro wrist strap, with velcro on the base of the compass. For extra safety I use a 3/4mm bungee as a short leash around my wrist. With this setup I can tare the compass off and hold it in one hand or two. It means I can keep it flat , have maximum control using my fingers and quickly press it back on the strap is a split second. Obviously It can also be used as normal wrist mount with the arm at 90 degrees (not a fan of this). Thanks for video, and loved the setting. 👍👍

Hey Scott, thanks for taking the time and watching the new video :) Utilizing velcro is a fantastic suggestion; I'll explore the possibility of creating one for my own use! You have any suggestion where to get the wrist strap ? Is that something off the shelf or you make this yourself ?

@@flowstatedivers The straps are just purchased online. They're general purpose for say cables/pipes, so don't come with the high diving gear price. Basically about 300mm long (long due to drysuit an thermals) with a rectangular ring on one end to pass the velcro through and back on itself to lock. Not sure if RUclips will allows details of the store so will mail the Flowstate address. 👍

It's important to note that the compass will point towards "Magnetic" north not "True" north. If you are trying to calculate a bearing to a point of interest based on GPS coordinates, you must remember to covert from True to Magnetic by adding the local compass variation. This variation can be found pretty easily online, but it changes based on your location.

I found that the batteries of my lamp and computer can create magnetic interference that alters the behavior of the compass. Put your compass on a table, and move your lamp near your compass. Tell me your findings!
