“Just make cars more affordable and people will start buying them”. This fact escapes the auto manufacturers brain trust and yet here is our Sarah stating fact…..
problem is people bitch about high priced 100k truck they bought and how it depreciates so fast. yet they are the problem cause they bought it still. manufacturer are seeing that you cost vehicles are still selling well. so they are going to focus on high priced vehicles for maximum profits. people quit being dumb buying over priced new cars, price will come down, dealerships CANNOT have new vehicles not move on the lot. people stop buying expensive, cost effect will show it's face again.
Cheap cars, simple cars are being killed by regulationism and eco-nuttery not manufacturers. That and bad money, of course.
Ferrari just entered the SUV market. lol
Most things are based on trends, like big chain grocery chains they probably use AI to figure out the pricing of cars. Its like this because trends let them know that's what people will pay for it.
They do make affordable cars. You can buy a brand new car for $10.000 if you wanted.
It's wild to think the world is so flooded with boring crossovers that now even a Camry looks and feels sporty.
US manufacturers don't even have sedans anymore. We HAVE to shop at European or Asian dealers for that option.

They did make it more sporty. Roof is lower than what it should be for a daily driver sedan.

Talk about the new reality, where automakers will only bring something back if they can charge a boatload for it. Versus, say, the Yaris. Although that also hints whether consumer tastes are really that strong

@@SarahnTunedI’ve heard so many auto reviewers refer to as a CVT, implying it is the old CVT design. As you say, it has planetary gears and has modes based on the relative rotation speed of the two motors. CVT in name only.

Long time camry owner. 2011, 2014, 2017, 2019. They were all great. Never had a single issue and no complaints.
This one is fantastic.
When you only keep your cars for four years or less, I would assume not.
It’s nice to see Toyota still making sedans. Not everyone wants a crossover-basically a plastic cladded station wagon on tippy toes.

@@Xander1Sheridan True, but most don't even really know what they are buying. I see people calling the RAV4 a "mid-size" suv all the time and its not even really an SUV. Its a crossover and even if you go by American standards, its a CUV, Compact SUV.
You need to ground clearance here in florida. The flooding gets worse and worse every year as they keep developing and destroying the swamps.

I had a brand-new Camry for a rental car when I was traveling last week. It was so new it didn't even have plates yet. It was an excellent car; I was thoroughly impressed. Fuel economy was amazing and it was remarkably zippy too.
Thank you, Toyota, for not messing with fake gear shifts, just a steady stream of power how it should be.

One of the reasons I bought Camry hybrid. I don’t want a car to fake what it’s doing.
Exactly, the fake shift points are the only thing I hate about my Subaru Legacy. The fact that they didn't even include an option to turn the fake shifts off is just stupid. It would be both faster AND get better mileage with them OFF.

I tuned out the moment it was revealed the "AWD" Camry only has 30kW going to the rear.

I have a 2018 Camry XSE hybrid and I love it. Comfortable for long trips and very economical. Last summer my wife and I drove from Reno Nevada to Green Bay Wisconsin and back with lots of side trips along the way. Total distance was 6800 miles and we used 145 gallons of gas while driving slightly above the speed limits all the way. Climbed the Rockies with no sweat. Everything worked as it is supposed to and did not use one drop of oil. These are great cars.
Impressive fuel consumption. Even though full EV cost less for fuel but overall hybrid is the best choice at this point in time considering the problems with charging full EV. Traveling on a trip of 6800 miles, the last thing you want to think of is Wether there's a charging station next when the EV battery is about to be empty.
Still drive my 2005 Camry. Solid as a tank. Still running perfectly. Toronto Canada
Most people don't need AWD. It just adds more cost, complexity & eventual repair problems to a vehicle. Even in snow country, having the proper tires is a lot more useful & important than having AWD, especially on a regular sedan/hatch.
Great car. A 2025 Camry Hybrid FWD is $37,200 up in Canada. Still affordable for some folks.
Could get a Nissan Frontier PRO-4X for that price here in US....

Vancouver BC, just saw a 2025 camry hybrid AWD XSE in stock at a dealer, listed price is $47766 (includes Freight, PDI, levies, and dealer fees).
That interior is impressive, there aren't a lot of manufacturers doing anything besides black/grey/tan these days.
The red interior is nice but the outgoing 8th gen already offered that option
I recently got a new SUV with red leather. I was reluctant at first, but extremely happy I made that decision. I was getting tired of black with my previous cars.
I would not call two tablets glued together instead of real instruments impressive.

Toyota has the best infotainment center with the needed traditional buttons and knobs. All manufacturers need to follow suite.

Thank you Sarah for reviewing the car you're in. So many RUclipsrs poo poo this car cus they can't be known for liking a Camry. However The Camry is decent modern car. No arguing that. If ppl are looking to buy a Camry don't expect it to be a Twin Turbo BWM.
Not to mention that a TT BMW have a 1/4 life expectancy of a Camry.
The 2024 Camry is actually getting a lot of respectable reviews on YT. I think Toyota has gone the extra mile to make a very drivable peppy affordable sedan with all the things Camry is known for: reliability and value.
The Camry has always been a great car, but this 2025 model is exceptional. I've seen them at the dealership, and they are awesome! These are Lexus like.

Totally agree with you Sarah about Subaru discontinuing the Legacy. I bought a 2017 3.6R and love it. Subaru replaced the naturally aspirated flat 6 with a turbo 4 first then seemed to struggle competing with Honda and Toyota in this segment. Really sad to see the Legacy 6 roll into the sunset.
Totally agree with you that cars are made for roads and roads are meant for cars. Also, if you need more cargo space, get a wagon instead of an SUV.
If you actually need space you get a minivan. The only pro to SUV’s are their towing.
I am all for wagons, but they are almost dead. At least in North America.
I’m so disappointed that my Golf Alltrack was killed off for the Taos. It is 100% better, the Taos is utterly pointless because the Tiguan is also 100% better for a couple grand more. Also disappointing is Europe still gets a Passat Alltrack which would be even better, but we don’t.

Drove a 2022 Camry and it performed beautifully. Really enjoyd driving this one. If I were in the market for a sedan, this would be it

Agreed, that interior is really nice looking. Granted, if you adhere to color theory the all-red would make you angry all the time, so maybe the customizable "gauge cluster" and other such features are meant to balance that out??
And for that price, we'll see if the production version keeps to that, but a car for less than 40k is amazing these days.
SUV box shaped vehicles are fashion statements and would have a place if everyone was driving around 6 people or lots of cargo all the time. Instead SUVs mostly have 1 or 2 people and convert most of their energy into pushing air.
Camry is about to offer a fine package inside and out! I have been a fan of the Subaru Legacy all-wheel drive sedan: Camry is the place I would turn to for my next vehicle.

The LE or XLE will handle New York potholes better than the SE/XSE
2020 RAV4 Hybrid Best eco score; 97! 10 mile drive on flat US50 hwy. on a 67 degree day. I took 2 miles to get to 65mph, 6 miles of cruise control and 2 more miles to slow down with the brake pressed just far enough to move the needle into the regen mode. Best tank average of 47mpg in around town driving all under 45mph. I really is a fun game!

12:00 Naaahhh as a past sedan owner, sedans are essentially useless for carrying any large items that aren't suitcases because the opening is by default an awkward shape and taking stuff out is a pain. Hatches and wagons for the win. I once wanted to pick up a used armchair for my mother and despite being almost 500l in volume the trunk couldn't take it due to the shape of the opening. You know what could? A first gen Yaris hatch.

lol. Dual tips, no fake stuff! Sorry, one of those tips is a dummy pipe. No exhaust passes through the outer tip. I have a 2023 Camry XSE with dual quad tips and there’s a dummy pipe on each side.
That rear exhaust segment going diagonally across with all the bends is an interesting design decision
Probably the exhaust person was late to that meeting!
Just noticed you gave a thermal effeciency rating, not sure I've noticed that before, maybe because it was something that I didn't know I needed to nerd out on. Anyhoo...Toyota have made a press release in the last week or so that with their new generation motors, they've made significant gains in thermal effeciency ratings. Who knew that effeciency is something to glorioujsly nerd out on. Nice!
I have a 2023 Toyota Corolla hatchback. It also takes the 0w8 oil. It cost $25 a quart! It's $155 for an oil change at my local Toyota dealer. So much for affordable.
You can use 0w20. You can buy 0w8 at Wally World for like $28 and just DIY. Stay away from the stealer. They will charge you for 0w8 and then throw in the cheapest bulk 10w30 Dino oil.

The Mazda6 was a great car. Due to higher CX-5 sales, it was discontinued.
Yep, it is a perfect car on asphalt. They sell very well here in Florida. If we try offroading, it's just a question of whether the shark, the alligator or the snake finds us first.

Camry’s are great cars, but $37K for a Camry is just absurd. I don’t care what trim it is. Got mine in 2019 for $26,700 out the door and it’s paid off. Went to the dealership recently to get an oil change. Decided to check out what they had on the lot to pass time. Saw a 2025 Camry xse blacked out. It looked great but the sticker price was $51,499. Camry is supposed to be a solid, economical option for the everyday driver, not mid tier car pretending to be a luxury vehicle. Safe to say I’ll be keeping my 2019. Only has 48,000 miles on it.

Inflation calculator would suggest that US$26,700 in 2019 is equivalent to US$34,000 in 2024.
@@yo2trader539Got mine for 39k with taxes, gap insurance, and 125k extended warranty. Also windshield warranty for 5 years and free door ding repairs. Did feel expensive for a sedan but so far I’m loving it. Perfect daily commuter.

Until someone totals your ride, insurance doesn't pay replacement and you're back into this sucker car market, having to pay for a bunch of tech trash you never wanted. Drive safe!

I'm just glad it is not as fast as my 23 XSE V6. I do like the extra MPG of the hybrid, I think I am getting about 23 mpg.
It’s a Camry, not a race car. 7 seconds 0 to 60 is decent.
The hybrid won’t get any better mpg than the V6 at 90 mph that most people drive.
@@angelgjr1999 lol, 7 seconds 0-60 is pathetically slow. It's not about being a race car, it's about driving pleasure & confidence. With a fully loaded car on an uphill on-ramp trying to merge with 80mph traffic, you're going to wish you had more power.

Impossible. Toyota only has base trims at their media events, I don’t attend those anymore as it’s not worth the time to make a halfass video in a rush at those things.

We won’t get the updated Camry in the UK. As far as I’m aware, the European countries that will get it are Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.
I wouldn't be totally surprised if it also makes it here in Finland cause they brought the current/previous Camry here for the first time since the 90's and it flew off the lots for taxi companies and boomers.
The new Camry will also be available in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

It really does suck. We've got a 2021 corolla hatcback & its sounding kinda concerningly louder & more whiney at 31k miles. I'm going to change the fluid despite them saying its lifetime because I understand that they are just saying these fluids can go longer to show lower costs of ownership.

Thank you this was a really great review. I own a 2014 hybrid and I love it but I’ve been searching for a new one. The XSE model is my first choice but they sell immediately once they hit the lot and I don’t wanna order one so I’ll wait but thank you.
I’d take the 8th gen XSE v6 all day long over this. It looks better it’s nicer with less piano black plastic and the v6 is silky smooth
Same here. Nothing better than a naturally aspirated V6 or V8 engine. Hybrids and EVs are like snails or inch worm.
