I've been admiring your Gerald and Piggie (on the bulletin board behind your desk) for months now, so today I made my own! Hand drew in pencil then painted it with acrylic paint. Turned out so cute! I want to make more characters now!! Thanks for the idea, I think my students will love them!

We are finishing our first full year of implementing HMH Into Reading K-5. We recently had our training with a rep regarding the new foundational skills portion of the program that we will use next year. I also teach first grade and although no program is ever perfect ( after 22 years of teaching I’ve seen a few) I do like this program (at least I can say I positively don’t hate it). Good luck with your continued journey with piloting the programs. I also agree I can’t believe how fast this school year has gone by!
Hi Susan! I actually have a question about your model magic animals... how do you paint them? What paint do you use? We are getting ready to create our endangered animals. :)
You can't believe how many teenagers get there first job in fast food and don't know how to count change or make change using the least amount of change!! (I work at Culver's and have been put in change of training on register. I had one kid give back 8 nickels and another who didn't know the value of a dime!!

some of this seems so complex for little 1st graders. Do you mind showing how you teach this.

Heggerty is great to go along with Saxon phonics. I had so much growth with these!
Can you share your seating chart? I changed my seating 3 times last year trying to get it right. 🤦♀️
