Just a question, why not Eq your sounds through pads inserts? And get them sounding how you want through your program output? I usually use submixes when i stack drum samples, 3 different kicks or snares and each one getting their own bus channel for eq and compression.
This excellent information. I do have a question, how do you export the submix? I explode the tracks however the submix doesn't get batched in with the wave files.
That.was so sick I just threw in my mouth a little. I’ve been looking for this on my MPC One since I got it 2 months ago. I didn’t realize that I could use the submix like an Aux track in Pro Tools or a folder in Reaper. As usual, thank you. All hail Da Kang!
I’m super late on this but when you say you mix into your Daw, can you do that inside Mpc software or do you have to send it somewhere else like Logic or ableton??
I've been trying this a little bit and I notice an improvement. However my snares aren't real punchy. Would. It be wise to submix the snare on its own or just eq? Thanks again!
Glad I could help! Personal Help Session are always available. That's how most of these guys super charge their beat making. 👍🏾 link is always in video description of newer videos.
Thanks for that, I totally forgot about the submix feature on the last update. You can now fully produce a track in the MPC Software now, mastering is done with plugins anyways so I think the MPC has come full circle now. Well done👊
Can I do this in standalone mode? I have a Conga program that I have the conga set in 4 different banks , bank A dry sound of the low and hi conga ,Bank B the same set for ambience and Over head mic's in bank C . I want to send bank B and C to the subs channels so I can give any amount of ambience and over head to the dry sound. Thank you
After you finish the project with the static mix and the sub mixes in the MPC how do you export the stems to the daw? "dry" or with all the processing you have already done and just continue on the daw from where you stopped?
Off subject Question! The metronome in mpc essentials isant hitting on measure. It was but now it is not. It's only doing this in this one project not in any other project. Ive never experienced a metronome off beat before. Do you have any advice for this strange issue? PS I record at a very low latency always have (16 Samples "0.4ms") So I know it is not latency.
On the mpc x there is a knob that off sets the entire beat. I used to accidentally nudge it when I work fast. I don't know where is on your particular unit as I don't have essentials. I'll do some research and try and find it.
Da Drank Kang awesome man thank you! Also I am using the same software you have there! Im new to it which is why i thought it was essentials. Ive picked up pretty quick with the help from your videos!
@@DaDrankKang I figured it out. It was Izotope Ozone 8's Maximizer "Transient Emphasis" , I had it on the master track and thats what was causing the metronome to be offbeat. Strange stuff man!
I liked how the Daw showed the graphic EQ it made it easy to see all the separate frequencies. Is there any think like that in standalone mode. And if not which would recommend using if mixing in standalone mode?
You will love the video coming if you like this one. 👍 stand alone mode is only for what's in the machine not the software. So the EQ you saw here won't work. Only the EQs in the machine will work which are not linear like this one. Linear means the graph type EQs. I don't use stand alone mode with the MPC x. didn't pay this much money to use stand alone. I have other older MPCs for that. I paid to use the software. 👍
You can put the 808 sample on a piano roll and then use the pad perform. Hit me up on gram if ya need me to explain further it was a little confusing for me when I was tryna figure it out ✊🏽✊🏽@mike_craftsman
@@dubwizezt really... I just went on Google and typed in "free EQ plugins" and about 35 of them just came up. lol! If you don't know the key of your song then you can always use your ear to match the sound. But you should always know the key of any project you are working on.
I think you mean you don't know the key of the 808, right? You may have heard this before, but the best and easiest way is the old-fashioned way. Compare the 808 to a keygroup like a piano. Pitch the 808 up an octave or 2 to make the pitch easier to hear. (12 semitones is 1 octave).
It's a "soft clipper" plugin. Soft clipper plugins are used to keep your track from crossing a certain volume level or "clipping" without turning down the sound. It will also add a punch to your sound without turning the volume up. It's like a limiter without making the track louder. 👍🏾

I think the idea is to do both. Get the sound where you want then when things start piling up in the mix and blending together start dialing everything in. Thats how I learned it too. Everything has to have its space in the mix. Quality makes quality and garbage in garbage out etc...
I thought so at first too...But, instead of throwing effects on every pad individually, taking up resources, and time, you can apply them once to all, minus what you don’t want to affect
