After watching your video, I have to ask: Did you skip Microbiology in college? UV-C kill rates lab is one of the earliest labs in Microbiology 101. (Yes, light can kill microorganisms, particularly in around 250nm.)
I bought one for my moms tiny office in our restaurant that never got any airflow and I was worried about how stuffy it was. She couldn’t work in there properly and the place was so old I thought maybe something harmful was there. This little thing made a world of difference. The air was much better quality and it still works even now for me. I’ve had it for years and have no problems. When we got the bad air from the California fires this cleaned my room’s air while I had to be at work. I recommend for small spaces for sure.
Say what you’d like but here’s my experience. I work in a office in Boston 2nd flr. The bathrooms always stink. One of the guys bought one of these things and plugged it into the bathroom socket. The bathroom is a typical 3 stall w/3 urinals. It gets a fair amount of traffic. Once this unit was installed the air quality, smell was an marked improvement. We all commented on how surprised we were that it would have such an effect. So the principle design works and works well. But after 6 months the fan seemed to have died. With no fan the UV light will do little good. So if they improved the quality it would be a no brainer. After seeing this thing I of course researched UV sanitization. Did you know when you smell horrible odors it is akin to tasting the molecules? So yeah....I’d grab a unit or two and throw it in the bathroom. If the fan fails well buy a new unit or buy a different brand. The concept definitely works.
I've had mine for 3 years and I'm not sure it's done anything either. My wife bought during that crazy year and that's why I did the video. However, I agree with you....probably a waste of money.
@@UltimateTechHub I'll say it before anyone else does. The cigarettes are the waste of money. If I could quit my office would smell a whole lot better after I re-paint the walls and clean it out well. I have a disgusting habit.
I bought 2 of these and ordered replacement bulbs but i cannot unscrew the bulb to replace it. My hands are too big and something cuts my skin when I try to unscrew it.
I have mine for over two years but now it’s making a louder humming noise. It’s happened before and I’ve cleaned out the dust. This time it’s still humming loudly. Any idea why?
The problem is you really want more watts in your bulb and more air circulation and a hepa filter. Only the 5000e and the 5250pt models use an 8 watt bulb. If you'll notice, the reviews are better for those models.
@@UltimateTechHub Even in a small area. Better off getting a model that will function as desired, but that's just my opinion. I did my research and decided that I would rather just get two of those 5250pt, keep one in the bedroom. Move one around the apartment as needed. I researched these models, it's not for me, unless they come out with a newer model with a bigger bulb.
@@UltimateTechHub The Gg3000bca was the monster model for bathroom, bedroom, and laundry room, kitchen etc, 9 watt bulb, but they discontinued it, I think. You can find them on Ebay. But I read good reviews. I will pick one of those as well, add a tiny fan to blow around the air.
@@CoolhandLukeSkywalkr Sounds like you have done the proper research and thanks for the great information. I will most likely get the larger model with the larger bulb as well. Thanks again for watching!!!!

I've had mine going in my tiny office for more than a year to clear out tobacco smoke but it does nothing. I feel like it was a waste of money.

After ours is plugged in for a while (20 min), the light turns from blue to red. Can't find any explanation in the manual. Any ideas?
Could be the bulb is bad.
I think red means you need a new bulb. I could be wrong...
Mine is now yellow/orange

Try using tongs. I had my wife unscrew the bulb. My hands are too big also!
It’s just a tug not a screw I believe. I could be wrong but I had one and I think it was just a pull out and press in type of bulb.
That's my problem too!
I finally got mine unscrewed, wrapped a cloth around my fingers.
Did you ever figure out how to?? That’s what I’m trying to figure out

Mine always made a slight humming noise but mine is in the laundry room so I don't notice it. Could be the bulb needs replacing!
I had one, I had it plugged in behind the front door. It fell out of the outlet and it didn’t work the same afterwards. I threw it out.
Sorry to hear that. Mine is still plugged in and working. When I say working its on but not really sure it does what it says it does.🙄

Yep its a small air santizer so a small space is really what its meant for. Thanks for watching!!

@@CoolhandLukeSkywalkr I agree. But for my small laundry room it will work fine anywhere else and it would not santize the air properly.

I believe this model uses a 2 watt bulb. Good luck 👍.
The genuine bulb from the manufacturer is 3.5w.
It does work .. for larger rooms, I use multiple plug-in filters.
who cares what you feel!!! change title to im gona guess it works du
