I never saw the red warning light telling me to replace the germicidal bulb but I noticed that the dim aqua colored light from the UVC light was no longer present when I run my AC5900 in the dark. So there is more than one way to tell it needs changing. Thanks for showing us how the bulb gets replaced.
This was so helpful, thanks! I bought this over a year ago but I needed to be reminded of so much of what you said. I was not vacuuming the charcoal part like I should’ve been 😅
Nice review but I would recommend never using a std vacuum to clean the charcoal pre-filter. A std vacuum will churn the particles back into the air of your home. If you own a vacuum with a hepa filter ok. Otherwise take the pre-filter outside and clean it. I use a air compressor.
I have a few of these around the house. You’re right on high, they’re very loud! You still like yours? I’ve had mine for a few months myself and love them. I typically look for deals so I can find them for cheap.
We have the large one in our bedroom. And at work I have the tall thin one. They seem to work great. But I can only tolerate them on low if I'm in the room.
I have been looking for videos for the noise on different speed it is the most complained about feature and you don't let it run long enough on each speed so we can hear it .the tear off prefilter isn't a good idea I am surprised actually.
The pre-filter is velcroed on. There's velcro sections all around the perimeter. It's meant to come off so you can gently wash it. Keeping the pre-filter clean extends the life of the HEPA filter. The noise at low is very low, at medium - I consider it loud, and high - I consider it torrential. I leave it on medium when gone during the day, and low at night when sleeping. Personally, I could never tolerate anything other than low.
I would change the filter when the light goes on. Also, I would rinse out the charcoal pre-filter that's velcro'd on monthly and let it dry outside. That should help your filter last longer.
Can you help me? The company cannot answer my questions. I have never seen red lights. The manual says red lights, but mine are blue when I see them. I changed both filters and put in a new uv bulb. EXPENSIVE! Are these lights just timers or really tell when something needs changed? I changed my uv bulb but the light won't turn blue, after I press it down. For the other filters, should the light be on or off? Thank you.
The tiny LED dot above the night light indicator will turn red when it's time to change to HEPA filter. Replace the filter and then hold and press the night light circle button for 5 seconds to reset it. (Note that keeping the pre-filter, the charcoal filter, clean can extend the life of your HEPA filter.) The tiny LED dot above the UV mode indicator will turn red when it's time to replace the UV bulb. Replace the bulb and then hold and press the UV mode circle button for 5 seconds to reset it. The night light circle at the top front clothes blue.
@@Jean78578 thanks, i guess my uv light will not reset. so, i have to take everything apart again to see if the bulb immediately burned out after changing. not happy the company will not help me. my lights never turn red.
wow, I can't believe that the filters are not sealed in plastic bag. awful. I bought the GermGuardian AC9200WCA and all the filters were sealed in a plastic bag.

awesome thank you for showing the bulb replacemet
If the filters or the uvc light has to be change so it reminds you that those needs to be change
Thanks for the video!
The only thing I would say is the bulb slides out from the top of bulb, it does not pop out.
Nice job w/ the review!

just ordered it !!!!
So I should only change the filter and UV lightbulb when the red light turns on? I was changing them every 6 months.

Why do you need to use a cloth to remove the uvc light?
Touching a bulb with your fingers leaves oil residue on it. This will make the light bulb burn hotter and shorten its lifespan.
