Thank you for your review Ben. You are the first I see who don't have trouble to transform the side skirt panels because you do it in a different order. I hope you are showing all the steps. i was beginning to hesitate to buy it because of its bad transformation ;)
Just got the reissue, heard there was some improvements, but some other reviewers say it's just left over stock. Curious to see how Xtransbots version will turn out.
I really love this guy, there's a good chance he ends up in my personal Top 10 for 2017. I have him as the best out of the last 2 months of pick ups for me, so he beat out KFC's King Gorilla and Kingzilla, MP Road Rage, and the Toy World Coneheads. As a side note, I absolutely love Toy World's Coneheads, some of the most underrated figures of 2017 in my opinion. However, I would agree that their scale is just a bit too large, so I probably will swap them out for the Make Toys versions. But, they blow the Takara releases out of the water.
my favorite space El Camino is back again. a third party should really come up with a trailer that he could haul. maybe just an attachment like Rodimus Prime. .... hmm mm Kootumus Prime
Hi Ben He is a really great looking Kup. I really like him. Mine will come in tommorow so can't wait to check him out. The car comparison you did what company is the Sideswipe from? Thanks for another great review. Are you planning to go to CONS again somtime? Really was great meeting you there and drinking a beer together a couple of years ago. Take care mate. Roy
Seeing Bobby Skullface's review on this, to me as well, something about this figure seems pretty fiddly to me. I would probably wait for a better Kup figure to come out, honestly.
G1 Smokescreen I do enjoy Skullface's reviews, but he's not great at transforming. This is why it's good to watch 3 or more reviews and get multiple opinions.
I wish I knew. Fanstoy is the IPhone of Transformers 3rd party companies. They could make a crappy figure and mindless people would buy it just because it was made by Fanstoy. I have never transformed any of my only FOUR Fanstoy figures. They feel like they’re way too tight. I dislike the scale they are using for their MP’s, they don’t fit the officials that we all have.
Did you have to bend anything in order to make it go into those panels on the side of the alt mode? People are saying you have to bend parts to make it work.
There's a couple places that you have to bend but he's not too bad. The feet was the hardest until I figured it out and then it's really easy once you know how it locked into place. I blind transformed him and I did it after about 30 minutes. Sad part, once I transformed him, I found the instruction manual and I transformed him way out of sequence as I transformed the truck portion first and the instructions had the legs first, which would had made the last couple parts way easier. After watching the video, I transformed him just like this except I finished d truck portion when he left that little flap open but, I don't connect the truck portion until his legs are done and then snap the hood into place. I find it easier this way as it'll automatically slide over the leg portion.
Currently I own Sovereign and Terminus Giganticus. Not particularly planning of getting a big amount of other figures from them, but their Blitzwing is on my radar.
Shuraking Dino so ,the pieces fell off? Came already broken?broke through divine intervention?or....were you(or someome else)handling it at the time when it "BROKE" into 4 pieces? I
So many clearance issues and pieces not tabbing in during transformation, very annoying . Great and hefty realistic fig tho, esp the diecast and details
They're fairly common combinable grey base plates typically used for gundam and other gunpla assemblable figures. Sites like SirToys have about 10 different styles you can order and build walls and floors with. Random other sites keep ones randomly. They usually have little catwalks and robotic arm pieces you can attach to them as well. For some larger ones, X2 Toys sells orange and purple ones with storage lockers built in, and Toyworld/Zeta include heavy individual plates with many of their recent releases, too.
I pretty sure it is the KO brand Reximus Prime oversized MP Grimlock (it is closer to true MP scale than orig MP Grimlock, but is a bit big for the FT set) - there is a comic colour and tv colour version but I don't think you could tell the diff from the alt mode.
Shuraking Dino Actually no, I stop collecting for like 3 years, but you can check out a new company called Alien Attack Toys. They got op in tf4(or maybe tf5) figure and Dino on the way. So, I'm waiting for the initial review. UT also got the same one. But I'm betting my money on the UT one, simply based on their first movie line product Lockdown. Last one is another third party company, TFEVO. They got Hot Rod, and from what I saw on picture, it's just gorgeous. I'm quite excited, for I used to collect movie line ones.

Great review man! Kup is one of my all-time favorites from the original series. Reminds me a lot of my grandfather very gruff but very wise.

Love the robot mode, love the Alt mode, the transformation however, do not wish it on my worse enemy, good lord.
Does the old bot proud.

Optimus Prime:"Koot? No, his name is Shitpiece. Didn't you watch Dr. Smoov's video?"
Alex Lemonds Now I think it's being spammed too much.Like every Koot review has these references.Yes,I may have did ONCE but it was ONCE.
Alex Lemonds Thanks for reminding about that video. Couldn't find it and thought it had been deleted.
just got this figure today and came to your video for help transforming him as the instructions are a bit useless! damn this figure is a workout!
Great Review Ben! Can't wait to get him.
Ben your review eases my original concerns
How did you get the fenders over the waist panels without having to pry it over?
Did you do anything to that sliding joint to loosen it up? Mine is tight as all hell.
my favorite space El Camino is back again.

Take care mate. Roy
Now if only we can get a decent masterpiece Arcee and Elita-1...no I'm not going to let that go.
New transformer home world "Zygar" That's a cool pronunciation. (No sarcasm)
He looks amazing, i just got him for a good price on ebay , he's too bad, not great but pretty ok, i took forever to transform him lol

Ben, which Springer was that in your group shot?
Why are fanstoys transformations always so convoluted and overengineered?

What Ultra Magnus cab in alt mode is that about 19:15?
6:18 his hand looks like a Sumo wrestler's face.
When I look at the backpack size of this and their Blitzwing, I think to myself: Where did it go wrong?
Currently I own Sovereign and Terminus Giganticus. Not particularly planning of getting a big amount of other figures from them, but their Blitzwing is on my radar.
I wasn't gonna get him either way, because I already have the MMC Insecticons. No issues at all.
Shuraking Dino figures dont break, they get broken!
Shuraking Dino so ,the pieces fell off? Came already broken?broke through divine intervention?or....were you(or someome else)handling it at the time when it "BROKE" into 4 pieces? I
I can’t get the piece at 4:10 to slide up. Won’t budge. 🙁 first time Fans Toys has let me down.
+Nac_ZR yeah I had to really wiggle mine , try moving it down a little first to loosen it up
Benscollectables I meant 14:10. Took a huge amount of pressure and given the parts hanging of that piece I felt it would break but it did move. 👍
So many clearance issues and pieces not tabbing in during transformation, very annoying . Great and hefty realistic fig tho, esp the diecast and details
Does anyone recognize the background bits Ben uses? I'm keen to get something like that myself.

Thanks for the info.
I working on making the g1 autobot base with the orange ones
I love it but all these third party toys are a little too pricy for me
which Grimlock is that? 20:13
I pretty sure it is the KO brand Reximus Prime oversized MP Grimlock (it is closer to true MP scale than orig MP Grimlock, but is a bit big for the FT set) - there is a comic colour and tv colour version but I don't think you could tell the diff from the alt mode.
cool, will check that one out.
Thanks
I wish the windshield was see through plastic
too complicated and the whole transformation is not cohesive enough.
