One thing I've always thought is that MK4 would look really good with photo-sampled hd textures, in the same way the 2D games did. It would still look fake, cartoony, and cheesy, but it would be alot prettier in its own artstyle than direct upscales, compared to other games of the era.
I was always a big MK fan and I am till now. MK4 is my childhood game. Now when I watched this video I want to play it once more. Is there any tutorial for newbies where to download, how to configure emulator etc? Also...is MK4 Gold downloadable or do I have to spent half of my monthly income on some internet auction?
those textures I created on my own whilst I was experimenting with topaz ai. I was going to upload my own texture pack combined with pepodmc's textures to have a full MK gold HD however the project isn't finished and it wasn't at the quality I wanted it to be. One thing that really bothered me was the font, as it looks pig ugly. I also need to complete the vs screen for all the characters. watching the video again I'm actually pretty impressed by how good the textures actually turned out. I even replaced the textures for the dreamcast logo start up screen. Maybe one day I will complete the project

@@gamingruinedmylife3123 I use a PS4 controller too but it's a thrustmaster eswap pro version. Do you have analog stick input for MK4? I didn't. i used a different emulator because the one you're using seems to be a pain in the butt.
@@larsulrich3356 i play wired, I only have issues with the ps4 controller via Bluetooth. All inputs work correctly and I trick windows into thinking that the ps4 controller is a xbox 360 controller via the ds4 windows app. I use both demul and flycast. demul has the best support and runs nearly perfect emulation but flycast allows for HD texture mods so i prefer that instead. redream sucks, I even have the paid version!

I agree. If the resolution is high enough it'll look pretty decent. That is IF the platform allows him to use higher image sizes.

always a playstation 4 controller. And if it isn't supported natively then i use DS4 windows.

@@gamingruinedmylife3123 Yeah I used redream. I use a wired xbox 360 controller AND a wired PS4 thrustmaster eswap pro. Neither of them are wireless.
