Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland then got lucky against Denmark with a dodgy off-side call and an even more dodgy penalty in their favor. Palmer, Bellingham, Kane, Saka, Foden can all play incredible football if you watch them play for their clubs you know they’re good. Alexander Arnold didn’t even get to play much despite being one of the best right backs in the world. Are English players overrated? Largely yes, but saying they’re not “good enough” is a bit hyperbolic, with a different manager and tactical set up they’d be a lot more dangerous

Allowing Foden to start the second half was the greatest error yesterday....
They didn't use the squad at all, same players, same play style, same tactics. Some players barely got a sniff in this tournament. Could of rotated players, rested players, changes play style. But we didn't. Spain was the only team in tournament that turned up to play football so deserved winner's.
Why pick a squad of 25 or whatever it was. Southgate just sticks with same boring players and tactics.

All dissapointment aside. I feel for the lads. Easy to throw venom but tournaments are tough and at the top level unbelievably so. We might want to see better football but I think they definitely put in the work and will be devastated. New coach new era new fortunes.
Perhaps playing at club level where you are surrounded and supported by world-class players encourages you to think you're better than you are? Had there been just one half-decent team in England's group, they'd have been coming home a lot earlier.
@@rostislavmulyeev760 I think you over simplify it. We all like to look at paper and think thats what matters and in a sustained campaign over 40 games it largely is. But in tournaments, there are no easy games and thinking there will be is actually a bigger problem. Also bringing together a team on the fly is a different ball game. These are good players and I think they proved that by showing it when it was needed. They need a system that naturally brings that out and not just under duress.
Realistically they should be happy, they were maybe the 6th best side in the tournament

The England Manager, and the team returning home after the Euros deserve a huge applaud from England fans. Those of you crying the manager and some players down I say to you it's unfair. The truth is always the truth that Gareth Southgate has been the best England manager since taking over a broken England team from Steve McLaren. The FA is managed by wise personnel who has the justification to make a decision on the England Manager's future, but not the haters.
Gareth Southgate and his backroom staff have done a good job by incorporating all cultures of this great nation into the national team which no other manager managed to do over years. Also, the style of play has changed tremendously for the best because of his wise managerial abilities. I strongly believe that the FA will maintain him as manager till the 2026 world cup. England heroes well home, and well done.

We played some of the worst football in the tournament and were 40 seconds from being knocked out against Slovakia. We have a manager that point blank refuses to drop big names and try someone else, Kane being one of them. If he was injured, then why play him.
