In Todays Video , I am STRUGGLING to get my LS Swapped 1981 C20 Square body Started for the first time. This is why it pays to listen to your own advice. VATS absolutely needs to be 100% disabled or you will end up like me. Авто/Мото
Watched your Vid all the way through. I lost my brother unexpectedly last year and he was working on a 1950 3100 and a 1954 Bel Air. I felt completely lost on how to continue his work and see his vision through. I stumbled on your videos explaining LS fuel systems and learned a lot from your channel. God gave us another chance and although we butt heads a lot, your story has inspired me to set aside our differences and enjoy the time I still have with him. Sorry you lost your father. I haven't worked on my truck(53) for three years. Just put in a crappy motor to get the juices flowing. It's running. I need at least one tire to go down the road.....And back. Lol. Some other stupid stuff. Make it happen bro. Love to keep pace with you. (Minus LS. That's for year end of early summer).

Great video I've been learning a lot from watching your vids I have a swap I want to do on my 85 s-10 I'm pretty nervous about it because my family keeps saying it's too small but I've seen pictures of other People's s-10 swaps and I feel I can do it I just hope I don't have to weld or cut anything lol.
Its small but it fits ! You shouldn't have to weld or anything, just make sure you find some good mounts that you know fit, search forums and all that to see if anyone else has used em!

Man .I can't wait till I am done.i have just installed Ls in my 03 dodge Dakota..but it won't stay on..the donor truck I had the engine I had no problem before I took the engine out but I think I'll figure something r out .good truck buddy...

Hey Jovani, I can't tell you enough how ridiculously awesome your video's are. I've been swapping an LQ4 into my 85 K5 Blazer and I think I've seen/read just about everything out there. You are hands down the best. I also have no start. What HP Tuners product are you using? I've been using a cheap code reader from O'reilly's and it's not pulling up any codes. The tuner disabled VATS.
Im using the old mpvi they have a newer version now that works as well, but I would go back to your tuner and maker sure he wrote off vats correctly, as you saw here I had to do it twice for it to actually work

My dad died from cancer two years ago.. that dodge Dakota was going to be our project.well when I got out of prison. I only had six month with him before he pass away..I hope u finsh it just like I am...I'm next door..I live in San Antonio TX

Hey bro what do us swap guys do about evap codes in old 80s cars? i have 3-4 evap codes that reoccur soon as i drive it?
Disable the mil lights for those codes. In hptuners mark as do not report error

When I flashed out VATS I used the wrong write method. Write entire was the appropriate option and I chose something else. Also I left my crank position sensor unplugged slightly behind the starter.

Hey Man,I recently purchased a 91 s10 blazer. I'm wanting to do a LS swap. Any advice or videos that would be helpful. I have done a basic v8 swap in my s10 cameo and still working out all the bugs but I'm always looking ahead for the next project. Thanks so much.Shane
The S10 is a super common platform, the basics are all the same, I'd recommend looking at the best set of mounts you can afford as space is right
What settings did you use on your multi-meter and how did you connect it? I have zero experience with these things....mine actually started smoking.
For 12v dc systems you put the red in the socket with the V symbol and your black in the COM port.
Touch your red to the positive wire and your black to a ground, either the frame or battery negative. Set your meter to 20V DC and you should be able to read your voltage with the proper decimal place
Also the DC symbol is _.. not ~
I’ve hit rock bottom with my LS and can not figure it out .. i feel like I’ve checked everything electrical I’ve replaced things.. the engine turns but have no spark.. have my harness looked at twice everything’s seems to be grounded properly and everything’s working correctly ..

Very serious question. With all that was done and the condition of all the parts used. Is this a truck that ya'll think would last a long time and be pretty reliable? Thinking about ls swapping my c20 but can't afford a new ls engine and don't want to do all that work to have it break down again

This is why I hate factory ecu's, and own both fitech ultimate LS and terminator x systems. ....not quite budget friendly but soooo much user friendly. .....although I did use a factory 411 ecm on my '73 c10 swap......luckily the guy I bought the motor from already had the ecu tuned and dialed in to the mods he made on the 5.3 motor....all I did was add a cheap China $200 ebay harness.......but on my '74 nova the 370" lq9 I built with a lsa supercharger and 11.25:1 compression with 64cc ls3 heads I ran my fitech at first with a ls3 intake when it was N/A, but when I added the lsa supercharger is when I went too the terminator x.....now the fitech setup is sitting in a box in my garage and will be used on my built l96 that I put ls2 flattops in with a cam and 64cc ls3 heads for 11.15:1 compression. .......by the way that crew cab dually in the background is awesome, and pops truck will be just as cool, hell your already half way there

I have the same ebay harness everything works great except for I am not getting ground to my injectors. Any suggestions?
Ground is controlled by the ecu, that's how they work. The ecu grounds the circuit which fires the injector. Check it while it's running
It will start with starting fluid but that's it. The other harness I had on the truck ran so I know it's not a pcm issue vats is deleted.

Yes I am sure lol. I stick a test light into the plug and it doesn't even ground at all.

The software is all the same. The hardware is a mpvi

I've been asking myself where did I go wrong for 6 months.
In regards to what?
Wiring, timing and just short of sacrificing a chicken to make it run.😬 I've tested the power 12v crank, rechecked the timing, new plugs, new coils, new injectors, grounded everything. I've ordered new wiring harness just see if that helps. Not giving up.👽
