my 2011 kx450 is hooked up to a battery, me and a mate of mine who is a auto electrician went over my bikes electrics, mine an start but dies right away unless hooked up to a battery straight to the fuel pump. Another mate of mine has a 2011 stock works fine, i tried his ecu, harness, fueltank with his pump. didn't try voltage regulator rectifier though, but we both assume that's what causing the issue. other than that they are amazing bikes, mine has 120 hours now with top end done at 50hrs. Plan to get full rebuild soon.
Looks like a fun track. I remember your previous video on the fuel pump issue. Had a 2016 KX250F and never had any problems, aside from venting coolant if you let it sit idling for any amount of time. Seemed like, once the engine was at operating temp, you better be moving. I know modern 4-stroke “race” bikes heat up quick, but that KX250F was much less forgiving in that department when compared to other 4-strokes I’ve owned (YZ250F, CRF250X, KTM450EXC, YZ250FX). Now I have a YZ125X, which is my introduction to 2-strokes and likely the last dirt bike I’ll ever own. For the type of riding I do, should have gotten a YZ125 twenty years ago. Would have saved me a lot of money! That Kawasaki green is pretty cool tho…
Apologies for replying to my own comment. Just wanted to add, the 2005 CRF250X was my favorite of the bunch. Others will disagree, but that Honda agreed with me. Great woods bike. Long-term, I think they are known to have soft valve seats? Anyways, if you own one, don’t skimp on your valve checks when due. Honda is good, but Yamaha is better when it comes to intake/exhaust valve wear.
Hello. Yes that track was very fun. Unfortunately it recently closed down. I'm keeping fingers crossed that someone else will come around and reopen it. Yeah 4 stroke MX bikes heat up fast. I remember back in like 2017 I was on a 450 only, and went and purchased a YZ250 smoker. I was quickly reminded how much cooler the smoker runs in the tighter woods and hill climbs and stuff. Seems as if it would never over heat no matter how long it sat there with no wind going through the rads. Now I won't even consider a 4 stroke for the trails. MX track the 4 stroke is good but for the trails its all smoker for me anymore. I agree on the kawasaki green, I like the team green color too. Mean green lol. Didn't they fix the valve seat issue by 2005 on the CRF? I thought it was 2002 to 2004 that had the soft seats? Can't remember. But the weakness of the yz250f back then was valves dropping if ran too long. Them little valves on the 5 valve head needed to be replaced after 200 hours to be safe. Up to 200 hours though and the bike was solid!
I personally wouldn't want to drill in my frame for a hour meter. I either use zip ties or I glue it on with shoe goo (can be found in Walmart shoe section). If glued on with shoe goo be sure to use tape or something to hold it pressed on while the glue dries over night.
Watching the video and talk about the Kawasaki’s quality, how do you feel about the kx250 2021 and up quality wise? Anything to keep an eye out for? Appreciate the information!
Hello. The 21 kx250 is about the same level as thos kx450. Motor seems solid and reliable, the only issue I have seen is with the fuel pump. It has the same pump as the 450 and can cause hot start problems on some bike. But that does seem a little less common with the 250s than the 450s. If that ever happens to yours just toss in a all balls kit and she will be good
@@drknes4012 thats good news. It doesn't seem to happen to every bike, just some. Have a few friends who thier original pump is still fine after a few years
@@UpAllNight91 question: 2021 kx250 lost power out of a corner and died. Starter spins motor without any clanking but will not start/run. Possible things to look at? Cam chain jump timing? Cam gear spun on cam? Piston cracked or rings? Appreciate any insight!
Haven't done a 23 yet, rode many 22s though. But I'm sure a 23 CRF450 is coming soon and I will surely post video as soon as one passes by. Also interested in getting a ride in one a YZ250 23 too
@@NickW90 oh man cool. Yeah I think you will like it. Probably won't hit as hard as the crf450. But a good slip on and stuff, unleash her a little if you want that. But bike wise, she is a solid choice
My '23 has 75hr on it and luckily no fuel pump issues 🙌🏼
For sure. It may already have the revised fuel pump. Kawasaki did a recall on the 2022's but by 2023 they may have been putting in the updated one.
I'll take the green one!
gota love when state regi stickers match your bike!
LoL. Right!

Nice! I bet it is the voltage regulator, if you already tried a different ECU and harness. Its got to be the regulator.

Did you drill into the frame to install that hour meter? I've always been worried to do that and have just zip stripped it but like the look of this.

Sweet stand. What brand of stand is it?
I asked the owner. He said its a matrix thans
Thanks for the info, it’s a nice bike , for a 4 stroke 😂
LoL yeah. Of course I prefer the smoker's better but this Kawi did a good job. Now if Kawi could just make smokers again!

That kawasaki looks like my 2022 yamaha 2stroke the aluminum frame

Fantastic
That bike isn't bone stock it has a pro circuit slip on exhaust and frame guards frame guards don't increase the perfect but the slip on exhaust does.
Good eye, Sherlock
Lay it over and throw some whips 😂
