It's strange that many biographies - incl. Wikipedia - of Elisabeth Taylor don't even mention this movie; and yet that's where her beauty was at its most charismatic.
I used to watch this in my country ((Iran))... Now I am in my late fifties in America and I have no idea how to watch this full movie, I only watch bits and pieces..... That's when actors and actresses were really actors and actresses without any help of computer-generated crap.... Beautiful movie...
Me emociona poder ver este tipo de peliculas yo era un chamaco me imaginaba yo me ubiera haber nacido en ese tiempo hoy a mi tercera edad lo vuevo a sentir grac.
i remember someone wrote "fugdolli" in the 70s but later i have read "foulque-douilly" in a book. this name does not lead to any source. however, i remember "bois-guilbert" which lead me finally to this
I watched this movie when I was a child and at the end I only thought: "Ivanhoe, your're such a fool. Why did you choose Rowena and not this yewish lady named Rebecca? She's so much more beautiful than Rowena!"
I watched this movie several times in my youth and I always was glad that he took his old love Rovena. Elizabeth Taylor was strikingly beautiful but I had a crush on Joan Fontaine since I watched Rebecca.
Chivalry Since marriage ends upon the Earth Let friendship then but prove it's worth with Chivalry that knightly stay that wanders through the light of day you like Guinevere I Lancelot Upon the fields of Camelot Let night encroach with passions fire Chaste love will heighten our desire and quench all lust to manifest our soul’s communion in that nest where passion is the slave of love In charity with Christ above And if the night could set us free One kiss of innocence would be A seal upon thy passion’s flower A diadem within thy dower. a poem by Patrick Fealy
And you can even watch it today . . . for $4.99. Too bad books could only be read by putting down $4.99 each time, the authors would do so much better. In the future, to watch any RUclips video, it will probably cost $4.99. History and the history of films especially, are all locked up behind pay walls, lest God Forbid any owner should be deprived of skinning a renter.
back when movies were made to become legends.
Great movie, great actors. I love the book and this film

Beautiful movie...
👍 🇬🇧 ! Amazing to know that you enjoyed this great movie in Iran ! Yes, things have changed..!
In which language was the movie shown in Iran back then?
This movie was translated into Farsi, an official language from Iran...
I saw this classic in 1950's in Korea and it's one of my best classics ever since. 나는 이 명화(名画)를 한국(韓国)에서 학창시절 관람(観覧)하였던 바, 최고最高의 한 작품이다.
Elizabeth Taylor was beyond beautiful.
Yes, You are right. But Joan Fontaine was and still is my favorite.
I think Ivanhoe & Rowena = both better-looking in the 1982 version of Ivanhoe; but Rebecca's more beautiful in this film!
Beautiful movie to watch as a little boy.Thumbs up to NTA channel 6 Aba.

mooie tijden r.i.p Roger More
ma dove posso trovare il film x intero
I dislike how they remove Richard the Lion Hearted from the film versions and give all his scenes to Wilfred.
I've just watched this on Netflix :) they don't make yee old fashioned extravagant sets like this anymore
More so when it comes to values of courage and freedom.
Chivalry
Since marriage ends upon the Earth
Let friendship then but prove it's worth
with Chivalry that knightly stay
that wanders through the light of day
you like Guinevere I Lancelot
Upon the fields of Camelot
Let night encroach with passions fire
Chaste love will heighten our desire
and quench all lust to manifest
our soul’s communion in that nest
where passion is the slave of love
In charity with Christ above
And if the night could set us free
One kiss of innocence would be
A seal upon thy passion’s flower
A diadem within thy dower.
a poem by Patrick Fealy

@@rubenszimmermann1072 Your welcome.
Please, somebody knows this song?
The music in this trailer is all from the movie's soundtrack composed by Miklós Rózsa. A high quality re-recording is available for purchase.
🎭🎯💕
I rote.
La película y sobre todo la música muy bien, pero es una versión muy muy libre del libro de Walter Scott. Es decir nada que ver.

There exist things like dvd's....blurays.....I'm ordering this one now for 8.50.
Streaming is regression, not progress.
@@despayre3914 Could be . . .
This version is real Holywood pap. The 1982 version is far better, with Anthony Andrews.
