Dallas Fort Worth (Irving) Tornado + Epic Austin Lightning!!

- We chased the Texas supercells and found one...maybe two tornadoes. One outside of Forth Worth, and the other tornado outside Dallas in Irving, born of a mothership supercell. We also experienced intense Texas sized hail, along with an absolutely epic lightning show in Austin, Texas.

I was in downtown Fort Worth during this crazy storm and saw some rotating clouds not far from the store I work at! What was terrifying in the moment is now a pretty sick video from Reed so I can't be too upset 😅

I used to hate Tx hail storms. I was on a motorcycle racing to get home and got pelted by just pea size hail but it felt like ice picks stabbing my hands and arms! Thank God for the closest shelter, the Tower Records awning... it saved my life.

Thank you Reed, you are the #1, the lighting storm with silence was the one that I experienced here in Jarrell Texas last year one night, was so weird, no sounds, not winds, was hot, not even crickets sounds, I never experienced something like that, I went home, I tried to recorded it, but after that just came all the winds furiously, in every directions, was crazy and the tornado 🌪️ warning immediately go off, was crazy that night, thank God I took a mini shelter, but was so scary, I appreciate what you doing ❤
I sat out on my Patio in Paige and watched this for an hour! It was as good as it gets.

My daughter lives in Lakeway outside of Austin. The storm was hitting my house in N.Austin/Pflugerville area was a lot of lightning thunder and heavy rain. She couldn’t hear the Thunder but had the best view of the storm and lightning. She could see the base of the clouds to the top. I was watching it on FaceTime while I experienced it in real time.

I had no idea that lightning show was happening as it was so high up and as soon as I stepped out of my house, it was like the paparazzi were after me! I've only seen that type of lightning once before when I was a kid in Rochester, NY during a blizzard. Talk about strobe effect. 🙂

I miss electrical storms--growing up in SE Michigan, during the late spring and summer we often had them. We'd sit on the back porch and watch the show! Every now and then a bolt would discharge to the ground and the next morning you'd find burned holes in the yard :D
