The adapter that clamps to the ladder is a nice idea. Can I suggest you put a hinge on the left edge of what ever carrier gets attached to it, so that the carrier can be swung aside to allow access to the roof rack, without having to take the whole thing off completely before you can climb up.
I assume you mean the German firm LeTech. Their Portal Axle creation is brilliant, but their ladder solution only allows for items that could fit in the space behind the ladder. Black Sheep's solution would not have that restriction, if the suggested hinge design is taken up. :)
