Fierce ride definitely one of my favorite and imo a top tier ride cymbal . The versatility on that joint is crazy . Perfect for jazz , gospel , funk/r&b , even rock .
I have a fierce ride from early '00s when it was the Jojo Mayer signature ride. Used it alot in in a surf rockabilly group and loved the way it cut without overpowering. Ive got a 24 Bash ride for that. lol
For me I like fierce the most. a good combination is fierce ride + legacy crash, or RAW bell dry + artisan brilliant crash, I have an old Sabian ride at home, vault Ralph Peterson ride which sounds very similar to fierce ride, except that it has a stronger bell. nice video.
had tons of them...2 18" Duo's, 2 20 Duos, Legacy"s 22, 21,20, HH light ride 20, HH Medium 20, 21 Vault Fierce, 20 and 21 Evo rides,,,2 22 Medium rides 80's...a couple Crescents ...still have a full Sabian bag I'm gonna sell off...maybe a few others and lots of matching crashes...always sounded great...always very clean and pure sounding...started wanting dirty funky trashy..had to move to Zildjian
@@randyrossdrums it was the K cons...started getting into lazz and big band...was looking for that woody stick with warm wash. Plus, I realized all the guys I was watching the most...Erskine, Steve Smith, Steve Houghton...all were playing almost the same rig. 14" NewBeats, 19" Beautiful Baby (left side) a K Con 22 of some sort, and a 22 swish...add crashes and splashes to taste. Right now, I've got a full Erskine bag.(minus the 16" and splash)..it can do almost everything. I've got a bag with 14 Armand hats and Avedis reissues, 19 with rivets, a 22, and 18 crash and a 20 swish. And a knock around bag for open mics...14 Armands, 19 K custom with rivets and a 60's 20 A...both cracked and repaired for almost no money...and an 90's HH 20's china with rivets. I'd love a few more K con's on the lighter side...since mine's a Medium...But, also wouldn't mind a 22 K Medium Dark ride...it's like the K con of rock rides...dark, with cut and stick...perfect for rock and jazz
@@randyrossdrums just realized...most of the ones I've sold are on my channel if you want to hear them...a few I forgot about...some prototypes and vault rides.
Awesome cymbals! But most of all, very amazing playing man!!!
Blessings!! Thank you 🙏🏽
