Interesting, thanks for the info, there are also neon pixels now that use led lights inside the blade but this is informative, plan on making a custom lightsaber in the future, tri cree is my favorite.
Ahh I just got my Adegan silver with a single diode and yeah it’s not as bright as another Alibaba saber I got. That was less than half the price and seems better overall. Ultra sabers was pricey with issues out of stock of the originally ordered apprentice Le V5, had to substitute for the longer Sentinel Le v5. Obsidian lite soundboard was also sold out so I had to pay extra for the obsidian soundboard V4

TCSS. Ultrasabers makes ok hilts. They don't put resistors on anything and their sound boards are basic.

I just got the Custom Fallen saber. The specs are, tri-cree with arctic blue, no sound, and covertec wheel and clip.
I ordered my sabers 3 months ago and they still have not delivered even thought why said 2 weeks ago that it would be 2-4 more work days
I ordered mine 3 months ago from ultrasabers and it's still processing and all I wanted was a grab bag saber

So If you have the tri Cree silver will the colors show up better with color disc?
They will show up better using the discs on a TRI White vs a single white LED. Colors will *NOT* be better than the colored LED you're making with the disc. If that were true, they would only sell white LED widths discs. A red LED is always brighter than a white LED & red disc. However, I've seen yellow and orange tones come out well with the color discs. LEE color filters also work really well IMO.

How's the battery life on the Tri-cree compared to the single diode?
I'm loving my Dark Apprentice in Adegan silver with a jury rigged yellow colour disk, since it is my budget send up to the Rey Episode 9 ending saber, but I'm thinking of ordering another one in LE with Windows in the Emmiter, to make it more Rey-like (now I have a chance to see the movie and pause on it in all its yellow glory).
I'm concerned about battery life though, since the Covid social distancing, I've been chewing through batteries because all of a sudden I have more time to practice spinning, and I had to swipe some rechargeables from my calculator just to fuel my Saber Habit.

When you hit an object, the blade will flash a different color for a moment like in the movies

Kamen Zagorov it’s basically a colored bingo chip you can put over the led’s to add color to the blade

Technically yes, as they have 3 diodes, one red, one green one blue. Some have a 4th diode of an additionally white light. And as a rule of thumb, an RGB will be less bright than a tri-cree of a single colour, because of how the colour mixing work. The short, is that an RGB saber works like one really big pixel.
To get a purple colour for example, Red and Blue will be very bright, but green will be dimmed down, because your eye interprets a lot of Red, and a lot of Blue, but no green light as purple. Think of it as trading off brightness for colour variety.
@@knate44 oh thats good to know. Would you say that the brightness of an RGB would be closer to a tri cree or a single led?
@@tangedy I would say it is somewhere in the middle, significantly brighter than a single LED, but below that if a tri-cree. Again, it also depends on the colour you want, but for any colour with more than 1 diode strongly involved (yellows, purples, oranges), it would be closer to Tri-cree than to single diode. Although if for some reason you wanted to emulate the lower brightness of a single diode, you can always turn the intensity down.
Another benefit of RGB or RBGW is that you can get a fairly bright saber that can still Flash-on-Clash, and with some sabers (I'm not super familiar with Ultrasabers boards, with them I usually go stuntsaber), you can also get different effects like a lighter-to-darker pulse.

OK, I did some research with my sabers. What I said is mostly true, so long as you use blended colours, such as a purple, or a lime green, but the single diodes seem to be about par if you want to go with any of the very basic colours, namely Red Green, and blue. So if you know you want one colour crisp colour you don't have to fiddle with in the settings, the single diode is the same, as the pure green red and blue on the Rbgw Saber. But if you mix any other colours, it only goes brighter from there. So a single diode still rounds out the bottom of the brightness list, with RGBW in between and Tri-cree or Neopixel at the top, but neopixel are more expensive, and tri-cree are locked into one colour, possibly with some shades mixed in.
Also if brightness is important to you I 100% recommend mid-grade blades over Heavy Grade ones. Heavy grade is only good if you want the weight to be more like a real sword, and if you want to do full contact sparing. The brightness difference is significant imho.
Better to get standard so u get flash on clash. Flash on clash is important in these sabers or it’s gona suck balls ⚽️ 🏀 🏈
I understand, but if you mostly do spinning routines, you don't really need Flash on Clash. Having a saber with Flash on Clash is awesome, and I recommend people in the hobby try one out, but Stunt sabers or basic sounds are perfectly reasonable for some applications.
