    Getting a Dyson hairdryer revolutionised drying my hair. I have very fine and thin hair, and my previous dryer was scorching my scalp, even on the lowest heat setting. Also, using a heat protestant has helped normously.

      I use a heat protectant when drying my wet hair and if I immediately use an iron after blow drying to either straighten my hair more or curl it, I still will use to spray heat protectant before running the iron through my hair. My hair easily gets damaged so I try to protect it as much as possible.

    Hi, i have a question about heat: I have fine to medium hair, and I noticed that less heat (much less than what I usually see in video tutorials) works best for styling my hair. For example: curls done with a curling wand at 220 F last way longer than, say, even at 300 F. Similarly, blowout waves at high heat and air speed last much less (like 1 hour or so) than at low heat and speed. I often hear that curls last longer with hotter settings , although you obviously don’t want to damage your hair too much. So… how do my hair make any sense in all of this? Thanks 😄

      They can be great! I personally love the Brazilian Blowout Smoothing Treatment over a keratin. It's very similar results but formulated different. I find Brazilian Blowout to be more hydrating and doesn't completely flatten the hair out as much. Granted that also depends on if your stylist knows how to customize them for your needs. In the last 10yrs I've had 3 clients specifically ask for a Keratin over the Brazilian Blowout and I didn't find the results as good.

    I haven't coloured my hair in around six years. I'm now interested in cassia (the close to colourless cousin of henna). I've read that it can it do wonders for hair and scalp health (I also have dandruff issues and itchiness) and make the hair appear thicker. But I'm not sure about trying it, my scalp is really sensitive, and my hair is naturally fine.
    Do you have an informed opinion on cassia (especially on thin/Scandinavian type hair)? Probably won't be a complete a disaster? Was thinking I could do a skin test first.

    FACTS! I have easily damaged, fine hair and everything you said is so true! I would add, for me personally, that I will NEVER get my hair highlighted without the stylist using Olaplex with it. My old stylist used to use it, and I never had any damage... no breakage, no split ends, nothing. Unfortunately he moved away. 😪 New place only uses Redken and swears to me that the bonding works just as well as Olaplex. Well, it doesn’t! As I'm sittin' here growing out my bleach damaged ends... UR! 🤬 Olaplex is patented, so they cannot be the same or work the same. In fact, big corporate Redken tried to steal Olaplex's formula and Olaplex won a big lawsuit against them!
    I have a question... is it ok to, after I've blow dried with a heat protector, spray the pre-iron heat protectant on all over and brush through, then curl or straighten, rather than spray each individual section? I'm always short on time, and it would save me SO much time! I've always wondered if it would be ok to do that.

    • @SummerBeautyc
      @SummerBeautyc  Год назад +3

      Sorry to hear about your hair! From my understanding Redken doesn't offer stylists something to add to the bleach like Olaplex. I believe their acidic bonding is solely for post highlight or coloring services.
      You can apply your heat protectant that way, I have certainly done it to save time myself. I don't think it gives you as much protection but better than not doing it

    • @SweetStuffOnMonarchLane
      @SweetStuffOnMonarchLane Год назад +1

      @@SummerBeautyc I don't know, but I'm thinking they meant the bonding ingredient was already like, "in" the Redken formulas, not an add in/add on thing like Olaplex.
      Thanks for the reply! Makes sense that it falls somewhere between "not as good as spraying each section of hair, but better than no heat protectant." OK in a pinch... kinda what I was thinking too! 😀

    • @summersadie3687
      @summersadie3687 Год назад +1

      I believe that K18 offers a '"molecular repair mist" that prevents damage during and after services. Would this be similar to olaplex which helps to mitigate bleach damage?

    • @SweetStuffOnMonarchLane
      @SweetStuffOnMonarchLane Год назад +1

      @@summersadie3687 Interesting, I didn't know K18 had a product like that. I wonder if it would be as good as Olaplex though, or just another one "like it" you know? There is another product called 'epres' that's recently come out that was created by the same chemists that created Olaplex, but I don't know much about it either... seems promising though!

    • @SummerBeautyc

    • @SummerBeautyc
      @SummerBeautyc  Год назад +2

      I like Olaplex, K18 and Redkens Oil For All for fine hair. When using oils the correct way they help greatly to hydrate or protect the hair, using before heat exposure and applying lightly between washes, if you feel your ends are dry. I don't think they work well for fine hair in sense that you see influencers(with all the hair in the world) applying all through their hair. For fine hair I just find even the lightest oil to be too much when applied in that sense.

    • @summersadie3687
