What a creative, entertaining and informative video. I’m making a list and checking it twice for all your recommendations for my hair type. I don’t know girl why you only have 20 thousand subscribers but I’m here to help. I subbed!
So cute and creative! I got all the fried products! So helpful for you to break out from dry. It's almost always fine vs course hair for many other channels.
I just love your videos Summer. They’re wealth of knowledge, they’re fun and entertaining. You are so so creative. In all your hard work and effort really shows. I’m sharing your videos with all my girlfriends.
Sharing these videos are one of the most helpful things! It means so much to me that you took the time to comment! I love making these videos and means so much to get positive feedback ❤️
I like too just because it gives an added layer of protection. If you don't want to day 1 post blow dry, you need to make sure to use it on a day 2 or 3.
I am new to your channel, this video was super fun to watch. I am already pretty happy with the products I use, but I like watching videos about the same topic from different hair specialists (let them be cosmetic chemists or stylists or trichologists). My hair has been treated my whole life as straight hair (because the women in my family have straight hair, but I inherited some waves/curls from my dad and so drier hair as well). I have found that I can use almost endless amount of moisture even though my hair is only medium.
I'm 51, and my hair is CHANGING drastically. I hate it. What used to work, DOES NOT anymore!!! I purchased Biolage after an influencer convinced me, and several other expensive products. I've been using them 1 1/2 years now and my hair is WORSE!!! HELP us women of a certain age!!! I tried the Olaplex, K18, all the things. It didn't work. :(
I'm sorry to hear this! You need to first determine if you have dry or more fried hair. K18 and Olaplex all work great but if your hair is dry you need moisture/hydrating based masks. In the description I have all the products linked. The Olaplex 8, Redken 5 Min, Loreal Elvive and Kristin Ess masks are all for moisture.
I don't have a set favorite flat iron brand I'd say, but with fine hair a ceramic iron is going to be less harsh. Titanium is nice but if you don't make sure to use it at a lower heat I find they can be more intense for fine hair.
LOVE your videos. Is it possible that Moroccanoil products are too “rich” for my straight, fine, healthy hair? I just cannot get my curls to last. They fall throughout the day and by the next day my hair is silky, soft and mostly straight again. I’ve tried all sorts of combinations and I’m also wondering if I’m using too much of the products I try. Thanks! Again, great job on your videos and your education of us.
Are you meaning the volume products or their oil itself? I have always loved them, but at same time doesn't mean they work for everyone you know. What exactly are you using when curling your hair? Would love to have more details to help you as best as I can!
@ I used Moroccanoil Root Boost, Volumizing Mousse and Perfect Defense. Another time I added Styling Gel - Strong. Both combinations I finished with Luminous Hairspray. Then I’ve tried Oribe Root Boost, Volumista Mist, and Maximista Thickening Spray. Just wanted to compare to see if one worked better for me than the other.
@@SummerBeautyc I like it fine but it doesn’t hold curl either. I did just order Moroccanoil Extra Volume Shampoo and conditioner. Thinking maybe it’ll help, but not sure
I use a heat blow dry protectant when my hair is wet. I assume that is still working when I use the hot tool next, but should I then be using another heat protectant spray?
I do, as I have fried my hair in the past by not doing so. Was also coloring it a lot at the time. All hair types are different and some are more easily damaged.
Luv your videos! So glad you mentioned the amount to use on K 18. I just recently started using this on my fine short hair. They say to use 6 times in row at first and then back off to once a month . Just did treatment # 3 and noticed my hair is getting dryer!!! Now with what you said it makes sense! I've been using waaayyy too much!! 😮 now how can fix this dryness ??!!
Yes you really don't need a ton! I used to hate this product when it first came out because I was using so much! In the meantime you could opt to use either the Olaplex 8 or Kristin Ess option to balance.
@@angiebasham7021 No you don't have to stop using it, but if you take a week off and want to use a more hydrating mask in it's place it's not going to harm your hair. The Kristin Ess is the Strand Strengthening Mask! It would be a nice break in expense to opt for that in place of Olaplex 8 with the cost of using K18.
Great creative concept! It's probably kind of likely. I give away stuff that doesn't work for me. We do buy a lot of products as they change the ingredients and also use false advertising and etc!
So what do you recommend for someone has fine hair that is going gray with alot of mixed texture due to aging? I find products that work to tame the gray coarser hair is way too heavy for the fine strands 😔
This is always such a struggle! The Hydra Pearl Oil I like for my hair and I also love their Polish and Reunite. It's very refreshing feeling on the hair without being heavy, I use no more than a pea size at a time when applying to my hair and I use it on my dry hair later in my week a lot. They are on Amazon, Ulta used to sell more of their stuff but don't appear to as much anymore 😞. The OGX dry oil sprays are pretty light as well and you can always do a spritz in your hands to apply, over directly spraying onto your hair. Let me know if you have any other questions!
So would loosing my hair be due to damage and not treating it? I’m 46 and thought it was because of premenopausal … I have coarse hair and side of face has been thinning year after year. So I would need a good hair treatment and heat treatment?
What maximum temperature do you recommend when blow drying hair or using a flat iron to straighten hair. Would it the same as for curling so not more than 350F to 380F? Honestly your videos have been the most informative ones I have ever watched and so fun too Thank you
Sorry that I keep asking questions which do you feel is more effective for repairing my Thick/Coarse hair. Redken Acidic Bonding 5 Minute Liquid Mask or Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Treatment? Which do you feel is better for my hair type?
So would you recommend the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate 5 min liquid Hair Mask is better for Coarse/Thick Hair or do you think the It’s a 10 Miracle Hair Mask is better. Which hair mask is the best for coarse/thick hair??
They both are really nice. I honestly prefer the packaging of Redken over It's a 10 I think it's just easier to get the product out and into your hair. I also think it spreads through the hair a bit better, however if you want something to "weigh" the hair down a bit more, It's s 10 is more likely to do so.
I love new Matrix instacure - it is acidic bonding type of a product line, but it is lighter and I love it more than Redken. Also, NatureLab Tokyo has what it looks like a K18 dupe. I tried it and loved it.
It's still fun to try and buy new things though! It is just important to remember what products are actually going to give you the results your hair needs. Especially when it comes to repairing the hair.

I also think it spreads through the hair a bit better, however if you want something to "weigh" the hair down a bit more, It's s 10 is more likely to do so.
@@SummerBeautyc Sorry which would you say is more intense or better for dry ends because my ends always feel super dry?
L'oreal has an acid bonder equivalent too for cheaper 🙂
I love new Matrix instacure - it is acidic bonding type of a product line, but it is lighter and I love it more than Redken. Also, NatureLab Tokyo has what it looks like a K18 dupe. I tried it and loved it.
I have not tried that one yet, I always forget about Matrix!

OMG i do have a small Sephora in My bathroom😢
It's still fun to try and buy new things though! It is just important to remember what products are actually going to give you the results your hair needs. Especially when it comes to repairing the hair.

For Thick/Coarse Hair Can I use the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate as a Hair Mask to repair my hair or do you recommend something else??
Yes I prefer it more for coarse hair actually! It's great but for fine hair it is a touch heavy but it's still a solid product.

Miss Beauty you're a criminal offender of the beautiful variety. That said I always had a thing for rebels, so.... 😉
