I’m 17 and I just bought one of these. I’m 6’4” and 180 pounds so I figured I needed a large bike for a starter. It’s slightly intimidating but I can’t wait to start practicing and getting good with it.

A 12 year owner... Your description is spot on. It’s almost like I wrote the script. It does everything well. However it’s not engineered for interstate cruising. It lacks a sixth gear, additional weight, and a few CC’s. But works well cruising nearby states and weekend getaways. Perfect for my needs. I bike I just don’t plan on ever getting rid of soon. A new one is about 9 K. Well done honest review!! Thank You 🙏

The Vulcan 900 has been on the market since 2006. As I write this (2023) the bike has been selling for almost 2 decades without any meaningful changes and yet is still relevant. For a bike to manage this feat it has to be something special. The Vulcan 900 does not really excel in any one way. Like all bikes it us a compromise. But the Vulcan 900, especially in it’s LT guise, is a compromise that works for a lot of people. Including me. And especially my wife! She had been riding on the back seat of my bikes for 40 years. After riding on the back seat of our Vulcan for an extended trip no other bike will do!

Vulcan 900 I think is a really good first cruiser. If you are a small or lighter person, this is the only bike you would need.

Looks like a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT which is the top trim level. These are great bikes especially for the price. I've owned mine for 11 years and for back road cruising, they're hard to beat. In stock form, I wouldn't recommend them for long distance touring as they really need a 6th gear or gear swap. They are reliable, trouble-free cruisers with excellent fit and finish, a very good bike all around.

Appreciate all the comments I literally got a good deal on a rebel 250 and out grew quick and next deal that popped up is a Vulcan 900. I'm 5'5 130 so it sounds like the perfect step up. Thanks to srk and the fans.

Great video! I also own a 2012 Vulcan Classic LT 900, and it's one of the best motorcycles on the road in my opinion. This is the second Vulcan I've owned. It's a comfortable bike with plenty of power and you can usually find them at a decent price.

A buddy of mine just bought a 2023 model, I asked him if it had a lot of torque down low and he described it like this... 🤔
It's got an extremely linear delivery of power, with just enough extra power that when you slam on it, it'll still keep even experienced riders, happy enough to enjoy their ride!!!
Coming from an old, overweight, beer bellied, with less than a 12th Grade Education, who was a life long Welder and Custom Fabricator... 🤔 😳

This bike seems like the same class as my Suzuki Boulevard 800 that i've had for a good 5 years or so. Definitely a great beginner bike that you could hold onto for awhile, case in point. I've had it 5 years and was pretty happy with it. until... I bought a used Honda VTX 1800cc, delivered everything my Boulevard was lacking. It's still a simple 5-speed, but the gearing is just a lot higher so you could easily cruise on the interstate going 80 and not feel like you're maxing out the motor. I'm honestly kinda surprised I kept my Boulevard for so long. There were many times since I've owned it where I thought I could really use something with more meat on it's bones. I guess I was just looking for the right bike that wouldn't disappoint me. This badass VTX sure didn't! lol

I have the 2011 ! I was very disappointed with how low geared it was ! Had to put front and rear pulleys and a 200 rear tires ! Still feels like it needs one more gear ! Put a batwing on it ! Also put bigger air cleaner bigger pipes and fuel managment ! Lots more power ! Much much better handling with the larger back tire ( the dealer won't change the back tire cause it's not stalk ) ! Love her now !! Want to get the 1700 or the 2000 too! And a duel sport!

I had the 900 Custom. I rode it almost everyday, rode it to Fla a couple times a month, up the Interstate to my buddies home several times a week. That bike was a very good road bike, never gave me any kind of problem. Run as fast as you wanted and then some. My buddy road a Dyna and I could stay with him any gear any speed. Mine was the 2009, I think they changed gear ratio that year to give it more of a highway gear.
