2024 CrossFit Games OPEN 24.2 - Tied the GOAT of Male 45-49 @JasonGrubb w/ 750 reps!!

  • 24.2 is here, and it is a DOOZY!
    I thought I could hold a 2:15 pace per round which would give me the final 2 minutes (from 18-20) to knock out as much of the 9th round as possible. Ends up my brain believed I was fitter than my body this morning! hahaha. Was a great/fun fight to keep going!!
    Again, my goal is to earn a qualifying spot to the 2024 Masters CrossFit Games in Birmingham, AL on Labor Day Weekend. The path is:
    OPEN - finish in the top 25% of the M45-49 field
    QUARTERFINAL - finish in the top 200 of the M45-49 field
    SEMIFINAL - finish in the top 40 of the M45-49 field
    GAMES - fingers crossed, ENJOY the expereince!
    CrossFit Games OPEN test 24.2 is:
    20 min AMRAP:
    300m row
    10 deadlifts at 185lbs
    50 double unders
    Completed 750 reps (8 full rounds plus the 300m row in the 9th)

    I don't understand wrist wraps on this workout, but they clearly did something to knock it out like this.

      Hi Jay, thanks for watching! I tend to sweat quite a bit, so I like to wear sweat bands during workouts to keep my hands a bit more dry. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

      Thank you Mike! My goal was to pull a 1:55 pace. Was just under 1:50 on the first round (legitimately tried to go slower, but that was it!). Settled in to pulling 156-158 the first 4-5 pulls, but got it down to 152-154 most of the time. I did “sprint” the final 300m cause I really wanted to finish that. Pace for that was 136-138.
