    Will people please stop critiquing a sport they know nothing about... Such a generic argument of, "haha funny pull ups" anyone who understands CrossFit knows 90% of training done is strict movements and butterfly and kipping movements are kept for competition standards to ensure speed and efficiency. The train up to 8 hours a day and take more care of their joints and ligaments than any other athletes on the planet, so no they won't be crippled by the time they are 40, so please stop painting a bad light to those who may be on the edge. This isn't bodybuilding, this isn't calesthenics, this is competing for title of fittest on earth so will everyone please pipe down they're not training in their garage gym.

      @Mental Matt you do realize there are several olympians who now compete in CrossFit right? I don't think they would call that an insult. CrossFit is the fittest sport in the world because it takes aspects from many sports. Including every sport you mentioned. Take top CrossFit Athletes and put them in any sport and they will do well. Take a most top athletes in one sport and put them in CrossFit, they will likely do poorly. With outliers of course.

      They did more o less 300 pull-ups and pistol and hspu in 20 min. Try to do it strict, you wouldn`t do xD.

      It wont be so bad..thats where the kipping helps..these guys aren't that heavy also..bodyweight training is the safest...but yeah some will experience bad aging no doubt

      @@josephpaladion235 that is exactly where kipping DOESNT help. With a strict pull you have constant tension in the muscles therefore not straining you shoulder joint. This whole flopping tuna style makes your shoulder joints constantly taking small blows. Same for your spine and even hips since they need to flop their legs to create momentum. It is and looks stupid

      @@royroos8036 I can understand the handstand push-ups and the neck risk there but they have been training strict pull ups and kipping variations for so long that they have built themselves in a way that gives them the ability to do these in a safe manner with control

      how do you think they pass the chin above the bar? even with a little pull effort it counts.
      Technique isnt evaluated here, just pull ups a sum as many as posible, just an instruction, not rocket scince

      You try 20mins solid of any of these exercises, then tell us all about your form. The rules are in place for a competition, It's not an at-home-workout for body building.

      Of course the scores would be very different, but everyone does it, so it wouldn’t make any difference for the race between each other. This is the sport crossfit

I have no problem with most of the movements but the kipping pull ups and handstands are ridiculous. If they were to be done strict, half if the competitors wouldn't finish. Again i want to make this clear, i have the highest respect for the competitors as athletes and as athletes they should be held to the strict standards of other part of the same competition.

      @@reginaldturner5937 no it’s exactly the same concept. It’s a sport specific form of the movement. In power lifting it’s more beneficial to create the arch. In CrossFit your more beneficial to learn and safely perform kipping pull ups when allowed

    Love the hate from ppl who come on here to trash crossfit when they've never done a work out this intense. You think you show up to a gym and start doing ha dstand push ups? No you learn the base build a foundation learn techniques and movement variation to then get better. These guys on this vid are pro athlete and train dam near close to what a navy seal would.

      Chandler Smith is a black guy (lieutenant when I knew him) from the army. Last year was 6th in the games. Blacksmifff on instagram. There are several people of color in the games. Just because you don't see a certain skin color doesn't mean they aren't allowed. It simply means they were not good enough that year

    As a non cross-fitter, Is there a standard for the pull ups??? Wtf are those? I would say 90% of them aren’t even close to getting their chin over the bar. I mean, I could do that ‘motion’ all day long.

      Okay do 20 rounds of 15 butterfly pull ups with 5 hand stand push ups and 10 pistol squats in between. Like literally just try it

      @@albertocabrera6880 that’s 100% false and just shows the people in the comments have no idea what they’re talking about. If you have ever been to a CrossFit gym the very first thing you do is practice form for 20 mins on a pvc pipe. It’s Olympic lifting and advanced calisthenics. Form is 100% part of the program

    That's more a hanging swing than a pull up. Most of them are not even getting their chins above the bar. Good for them I guess it's their sport. Feel sorry for the shoulders though.

      1 rep is getting your chin above the bar. This is the fastest way to do that.

      problem is this is the only way to " count " pullups with getting the chin over the bar... normal pullups woudl never be able to work when 20ppl are on 1 bar
