Thank you Nurse O for this video. I like how you stated clearly what to expect in this licensure journey. I’m in Nigeria and I want to know the best way I can get my Criminal Record Check for CRNA Application.
Thanks for watching. You can have your CRC done from Alagbon Police station in Lagos and have the hard copy sent to CRNA. This is cheaper than using CSI background check done online
Hi Nurse O, thanks for always being there for us. Pls with the AHS pilot, using the link sent to us for NNAS registration, one of the forms downloaded is nursing council verification form, on the nursing council verification portal, for the verification board, do we put NNAS or CRNA as d verification board. 2) Under the CRNA application sent to us Tru AHS pilot under the jurisdiction verification, there is another nursing council verification form, my question is are we to do another nursing council verification for CRNA application or is NNAS sending the report to CRNA. 3) for the criminal record check we are asked to do, is it adviceable to do it now and if not done now is there any implication to that effect. Wh address do we copy it to after getting the report. Pls I await your response
Hello, For NMCN verification form, the requesting body will be NNAS. Secondly, NNAS and CRNA are two different bodies that does not share information or documents which means, your final evaluation report from NNAS will only be sent to CRNA for further decision and not the documents you've sent to NNAS. In short, you'll need another VOR for CRNA. Lastly, there's no deadline to when you can submit your CRC, just that once you've done it, you're a step ahead in your licensure process. You can email the result ( not you personally, I meant from the police office) directly to CRNA or send the physical copy through courier. CRNA ADDRESS: The College of Registered Nurses of Alberta is located at 11120 178 Street, Edmonton, AB T5S 1P2 CRNA EMAIL:canadian@nurses.ab.ca Let me know if you have further clarification
It depends, try applying for job offers from Indeed Canada site and see if you're lucky to get an employer that can sponsor you. Also, try to write ielts, do your credentials evaluation and create your express entry account cos not everyone will have luck with work permit Also, have you considered coming to study?
Hello nurse O, please i am applying crna and i have gotten to the liability purchase. Its required of the applicant a crna license number and your AAN membership number. I have the AAN membership number but in your video you are to submite your application before the crna issues a license. Which i dont have as an IEN hence am stuck. I dont know how to go about the payment of the liability. To submit my application. Pls help
Well, if I get your question right, you need to first create an application with CRNA, meet all criteria for registration, CRNA will then notify you to purchase your liability insurance from CNPS. Once you've made the payment using your CRNA ID no, CNPS will inform CRNA that you've purchased your liability, and then your license will be issued .
After NCAS, you have to apply with BCCNM regulatory board. They'll be the one to determine if you're eligible for att then, and they'll forward your name and details to NCSBN ( nclex board) and that's when you can register with Pearson Vue. Let me know if you need further assistance
Thanks for the detailed video. After getting the registration done and probably getting registered , How easy will it be to get a job and long will it take to immigrate. I will be grateful to hear from you
Getting jobs after registration and licensure isn't a problem but immigration can't be predicted depending on the type of visa you're applying for. So I'd advise you process both your licensure process alongside immigration
Hello Nurse O, thanks for all you do. How do someone who qualified as an RN in Nigeria 23years ago but has not practiced since after qualifying? Can such a person return to nursing after staying away for so long? Is there any other way one can reach you apart from this page? Thank you.
Thanks for watching. Well, you'll have to reinstate your license first with your nursing regulatory board in your country to be in good standing and then possibly practice bedside nursing even if it's just 6 months to allow you have safe practice hours then proceed with your Canadian licensure journey. You can reach me on ig @ o_funky1.
Hi sis, hope u r good? Please I need clarification regarding this ECA using IQAS/ICES. Can I go ahead and evaluate bnsc and RN certificates even though the RN is not from SON but from the uni I finished, meaning same transcript fr both? Please ur guidance is greatly needed.
@mustaphaaisha2324 yes if you're using either of the 2 ECA you mentioned, I'd advise you evaluate both to give you better chance of having comparable report. Doesn't matter if your school issue same transcript and curriculum. Hope that helps

These are the countries that CRNA allowed to register directly with their nursing regulatory board without credential evaluation from NNAS but if your country isn't listed, you'll have to go through the old process of getting your advisory report from NNAS before you can now open an application with CRNA. www.nurses.ab.ca/strengthening-the-system/groundbreaking-changes-made-for-internationally-educated-nurses-coming-to-alberta/#:~:text=The%20College%20of%20Registered%20Nurses,apply%20to%20become%20registered%20nurses

You can obtain a Canadian and international CRC through one of the approved online companies, CSI and MyBackCheck, and they can provide your results directly to NSCN electronically. You may also obtain the CRC through local police or RCMP, however, you will be required to submit the original hard copy of the CRC to the NSCN via mail or drop off. The regulatory body will notify you of the CRC services to use and when to request for it.
Thanks for the update, pls can you help us with step by step on how to apply for WES. And for the Wes application wat is the primary purpose for evaluation, is it for certificate, licensing, immigration , employment or education . Pls I need clarification on it.
Wes evaluation can be used for 1. Immigration purposes esp when you're applying for PR. You need credential evaluation from any evaluation services such as wes, icas, ICES, etc with general ielts to initiate your express entry application. 2. You can use WES report or other evaluation services I mentioned before for credential evaluation If you're planning to apply with BCCNM ( British Columbia) as part of their requirements when applying to NCAS 3. You can use it for schooling sometimes as requested by some school 4. You can use it for employment purposes sometimes especially if you're planning to apply with AHS( Alberta health services) jobs for internationally educated nurses who have applied to CRNA ( college of registered Nurses of Alberta) for their licensure. Hope this answers your questions
@@nwaubaniifeyinwajoy8122 yeah but is not compulsory to use wes, you can also use other evaluation services such as ICAS, ICES, IQAS especially if you don't have masters, I'd say don't use WES so you don't end up with not comparable results. For BCCNM, you'll need credential evaluation done which will be sent to your NCAS account then NCAS report will be sent to BCCNM. Watch my video on BCCNM update for better understanding

Thanks for the compliment. The main issue is immigration and that's why I always advise people to start their immigration process alongside with the Nursing registration. Immigration time frame cannot be predicted and it also depends on the type of pathway you're taking e.g, PR, work permit, student visa, visitors permit. I'd just say, know the immigration pathway you intend to take and begin the process asap
