Good day nurse O, I trust you are doing fine ma. I am one of your subscriber on RUclips. I have been applying for caregiver jobs in canada using my nursing cv but am yet yo get any offer and also am not sure if my cv is standard enough to keep applying for this offer. Ma please can I forward the cv to you to help me review if it correct ?
Please my question is am a Nigeria Register Nurse but I want to use this care giver route to come to Canada is it advisable and what are the requirements
Please nurse O. What if someone have an engineering degree or law degree and have acquired a certificate or diploma in healthcare program, which of the certificates should I evaluate? Is it the engineering or law degree which appears to be the highest degree or the diploma or certificate in healthcare? I’m confused as to which certificate I need to evaluate with WES. Thank you.
I'd advise that you evaluate your highest certificate cos you might also need it later for immigration or academic purposes, although you might need to upgrade it then. Also, it'll be great if you have a caregiver certificate that should be included in your resume
@@nurseo3408 okay. Thank you so much. So, do I wait until I get a job offer before evaluating? Because I wanted to start it and they website asked if the evaluation is for job application or for immigration and I got confused. I studied law but I’m currently doing some certification programs in healthcare. I was advised to evaluate my highest credential which happens to be my law degree but the plan is to use the healthcare certificates to apply for healthcare jobs but I wanted to start putting all other things in place first. Now I don’t know if my evaluation should be for employment purposes or immigration purposes. Please help me with that if you can. Thank you
@anthoniaibara9291 for the purpose of this caregiver program, I really don't think there's any order as to which one to do first. Getting a job might be what you need to start looking into once you have a resume at hand. Getting your credentials evaluated shouldn't take more than 3 weeks max depending on the evaluation body that you choose.
You don't have to wait till 6 months. You can either start your RN licensure process now or when you migrate down here. With the new caregiver program, you can switch employer the following day you enter Canada cos, you're a permanent resident already.
Yes, she used WES, but it totally up to you on which ECA body you want. Presently now that NMCN verification is on hold, I'd recommend that you use ICES, that way, you only evaluate your transcript and don't need license verification but if you use WES as a nurse, you'll definitely need to do license verification. Note that your evaluation report can be used both for immigration purposes and the licensure process.
@@sofiamwadzaya9209 not for everyone but if you're from a country that's having problem with license verification, it's therefore advisable to use ICES cos, just your transcript is needed for evaluation but if you're using WES, you'll be required to send your verification of registration with your regulatory body before they can give you your report.
I have a question plssss, did nurse yemi at any point did a caregiver certification course before she could apply for a caregiver job? I need a response regarding this so to prepare one towards this new pathway
No, just her resume portrayed her as a caregiver. Since you'll be evaluating your certificate with ECA, I'd say getting a caregiver certificate might not be necessary as you're already a nurse. I'd, however, suggest that you have cpr/ First Aid certificate included in your resume.
@syndytatahofficial4664 I'd advise you to create application with Nova scotia college of nursing. Request for license verification form and send it to your board of nursing in US. Once NSCN receives the verification, you'll be issued your Canadian RN license.
