By far the hardest challenge in the game. Everything else I managed to cheese in some form, but here I absolutely needed Zeromus and my absolute best timing.
I didn’t play this much when it first came out.... I was REALLY into FFXI until about 2010 when they screwed it all up by creating Abyssea which made it totally EASY MODE.... after that I took a break from games for about a decade.... THIS GAME is truly epic!! Tons of story and tons of challenges!! Especially the Zodiac System! Glad I waited so long to get into this one!!
the key item here is: DO NOT COME DESTROYED FROM OMEGA MARK! If necessary, reload the save from lv 91 and try again. I only managed to defeat the judges when my party entered the battle alive and without reverse or beserk. Then I used the zeromus strategy, you dont need to have Dark Energy but Niho is crucial. One thing that also helped was that as I never used espers during the game, Zeromus was not assigned to anyone untill this battle, so in the beggining I choose the lv 99 character with most speed anyway, this battle is ridiculous, probably in the top 5 hardest bosses of FF series
not sure if you already know this but by what i have seen in your videos, you don´t sort your items. If you go to inventory and select "sort" in magics for example, they will appear in that order in the characters menu. That way you would not have to search where is the elixir in the inventory because it would be next to other curative items.
Nice strategy, I'm gonna try it out the next time. But I think Nihopalaoa + Zeromus is way faster. I cleared the stage with one character only (Vaan in my case). I summon Zeromus then I use a Bubble Mote on him, then I equip Nihopalaoa and use an elixir on him. He casts his final attack that oneshots 2-3 Judges. Then I use an elixir on myself so the mystes charges are restored and repeat the same strategy a second time. aand... stage cleared in more or less 1 minute :)

Saw that strategy from the video. Great strategy! I would never thought about that. I'm currently at Trial 100 and don't have the Nihopalaoa, unfortunately. Also, I've done all the trials without any summoning, quickening, or legendary weapons/equipments (Gendarme, Seitengrat, Great Trango, etc.) for the extra challenge. Wish me luck!

These judges were a real pain in the ass, i finally did it without dark energy but with nihopalaoa and zodiark. Probably the most difficult battle in zodiac age imo
Stupid disease is what is killing me. I did not wqnt to farm for ribbon so only my healer has it, but good lord I hate that status. What is more stupid is that if you die you still have the stat on you
Talk about a tough battle . . . I used more than 50 Dark Energy, but the two remaining Judges Gilbranth and Zargabaath kept using Elixirs. I finally started using Wither and that worked, and just when I thought I finally turned the corner . . . UNKNOWN ERROR OCCURED! Wow! That really hurts. So now I have to start the fight all over. But thanks for the tips Fuzz . . . very helpful.
I finally beat them wow!! I don't think I've ever fought such a hard final fantasy boss thanks for the tips, Tho I started with 1 dark energy with berserk and reverse on vaan! I was so lucky! Wow! What a fight!!

Yeah, I did the same thing! Just use Basch and Zeromus. Summon Zeromus, Bubble mote Zeromus, equip Niho. Throw elixir on zeromus, cast big bang. Repeat 1 more time, Gold Trophy
@@kristapsvecvagars5049 yeah, with this strategy big bang should hit for around 200k to all judges. Just elixir the summoner afterwards and repeat it a second time and you'll beat all five judges in two hits.
Without that one accessory, this fight feels impossible lol. But really sucks once you only have two left who keep elixiring each other. SO frustrating. At least, was without Zodiark or Dark Energy :P You make it look easy lol. Btw, what would you suggest for espers per job ?
Finally got the Platinum Trophy in this game after 90 hours of play. Trial mode was pretty tough as I had none of the ultimate weapons (too lazy to farm or RNG stuff, the only one I got was the Gendarme shield from you're video). I did have 3 ribbons and Nihopalaoa which were the saving grace for me in trial mode. I used Zeromus to beat the judges quite easily using the bubble mote, Nihopalaoa +elixir and then Big Bang method. Just two round killed all 5 judges in a flash.
So any time I use Dark Matter, it does 0 damage to the judges! I have no idea why. Thanks for the videos man, they’ve helped me a ton! A game I’ve tried 100%ing since I was about 8, and tried about 10 times. Appreciate any response. I’ve tried spamming I’ve done Zeromus twice when he has 1HP which does massive damage, more than Zodiaek. Used Zodiark 5 times after that, and they still wouldn’t die. Maybe 2 of them died...
Maybe a little late: They spam elixirs on each other and depending on your level Zeromus will not oneshot them. You need to Nihopalaoa and elixirs to instantly trigger his final attack. otherwise you just will not deal enough damage. And then you need to repeat it. If you want to use Zodiark, there is no delay allowed and luck is involved, depending on the enemy's use of their elixirs.
Basically spam final Eclipse, and or dark energy until the final 2. Spam sleepga on final 2. Atk for lowest HP. Throw in sheer, expose, wither occasionally. Got it.
Thanks for the video. It gave me some ideas on how to do trial 100. I was recording it and I was kind of nervous because I died so many times previously. I had 4 dark energy. I could have gotten more but I didn't want it to be too easy. Level 100 wound up taking me about 35 minutes because I have to stop and think a lot. My video came pretty good. I watched it several times after. I still think I could do better so I will try again. Anyway, thanks.
Iv seen 4 different approaches to this fight and iv tried them all, I haven't taken a single judge out yet. It's like they have 5million HP each and are immune to almost everything

My setup to kill the Judges quickly. Everyone has charge, raise or arise, attack lowest hp max with dark energy. That is all for gambits. Penelope had Zodiark. As soon as the fight starts summon Zodiark and do his final eclipse. This for me took out at least 2 of the Judges. The everyone was throwing the dark energies and the rest died real quick. It then loaded up my save from level 90 and tried again. Same results and a quicker way to defeat them all.
I can't get dark energy bc I'm playing on Xbox you can't manipulate the rng. I've been fighting these judges for the last 2 hours now and I'm down to only 3 I've used all my elixirs and mega elixirs but everytime I get some HP down they are always using potions and elixirs and mega elixirs. Iam at a stalemate right now
Man this fight was BS and I was even at Level 99. I struggled to get Ghis down even after using several Quickenings (thanks to Megalixers) I didn't have any Dark Energy so that probably made things worse.
This is the only boss in the whole game who's freakin' me out! I've completed the 99th trail. My beginning state at the begin of the 100th trial is: 1. Balthier level 78: alive with 9.999 HP and bubble belt 2. Bash level 50: alive with 2.500 / 5.500 HP 3. Penelo level 84: K.O. (she's my white mage / red battlemage) I do have about 8 Elixers and 7 Mega elixers and plenty enough of remedies and phoenix downs. I've all the magics, technics, espers and plenty of Seitengrats, Great Trango's and the Gendarme Shields. I don't have the Nihopalaoa accessoiry so this will not work for me. I've tried about 10 different strategies. I think the best one is to spam of Zodiark's Final Eclipe which will do 60.000 damage to all 5 judges. I can do this for 3 times which means I've done already 180k damage. But Judge Ghis (which have an amount of 124.000 HP) did not die after 3 times Final Eclipse. Even a 4th final Eclipse i've managed to pull of doesn't seems do the job. If anyone says this bossfight is a peace of cake, please let me see this with remote play! If anyone can help me, please add my on PSN -> Djinnax I want that platinum trophy badly! I really appreciate if anyone can help me out with this!

Very nice! Yes challenging it was. But after al I enjoyed playing this game. Yes I obtained the platinum trophy! Mist walker is indeed about luck. But i managed to do the Black Hole twice. You need to push as quick as possible and don't worry about what quickening you push. But I think that if there's a Mist Charge option this is the best chance to do the level 3 quickenings. You will get this Mist Walker trophy! 🤜
I'm looking at your menu. It shows that your clock is only two hours into the game and your steps are only 3300 or so. Yet your levels are in the 70s and you have a ton of items and gear. Did the timer and steps reset themselves? How many hours did you put into this game?

Just beat this fight myself:D Turns out you can disease Ghis and Drace (with the nihopalaoa) Silence and slow works on some of the others as well as perma sleep on Zargabaath.
@FuzzfingerGaming man you weren't watching well. You set penelo to do a megalixir and then a curaja from Ashe hit and you change Penelo's actions to a prince's kiss before she could finish scathe. Megalixir does in fact recover mist charges. Also you should do auto-sort in your inventory item menu. You spend so much time searching for items this will help so much.
This definitely shouldn't be a strategy or how-to guide. None of your videos should be. They're good to watch to see how the bosses behave, but your fights are always a complete mess. So are your gambits and menu system.
I am just not good at the game, this is all I have to do for the plat and I simply cannot beat them. Got them down to final two but that’s as far as I have gotten.
No you still don't get to keep anything. Starting the weak mode puts you with ZERO items from trial mode. It's only if you load a save after a trial that you keep items. So level 100 is impossible to keep anything from.
my characters are in decent shape except for 2 of them being in berserk and one of them being the healer yet i cant survive for a bloody minute! got max level on my main 3 and fairly high level on the others and i just keep being dropped, i dont know what to do!
Once you think about it you have to cheese this battle regardless. Whether it’s this method, zeromus, or the niho trick, if you try to fight them FAIR your gonna have all of their boots stuck in your ass 🥾 🥾 🥾 🥾 🥾
I've put over 120 hours into the game only to reach this battle completely fucked up from the one previous and unable to come anywhere near close to beating it. Even if I came in fully healed I still don't believe I'd be able to do it. I'm Level 99 with 3 Seitengrats. I guess I'm just shit. By the time I've taken out Ghis I'm seconds away from death. I'm both furious and depressed.
After getting over my temper tantrum I got back to it. It took about 3 hours but I managed to claw my way to victory over a fight that lasted about 25 minutes. Geez Louise! So tough without health and the necessary items, but by golly when that final judge fell!
Good job. I feel your pain. I had no seitengrat, no dark energy. And 5 or 6 elixirs. But I have 500 hours experience. Love this game. Finishing up the platinum trophy tonight and retiring
Hi, i've finished the trial mode 100 - i've managed to stole the tourmesol how would i retain this to the story mode? it asked me for a new game plus but it retain the items.
I’ve not reached trial 100 yet and didn’t realise it would ask you to start a NG+ after, but would it work if you stole the item you wanted and then died on purpose?
I dont have the Nihapolaoa, and no Ribbons, and I get absolutely DESTROYED! Any tips?? Ive never played anything harder than this in any game ever, they one shot me regardless of status buffs, and Im lv99 :( Not even Zodiark Deathblow x3 killed even ONE of the judges. This is actually pure bullshit. I can never have time to heal even with elixir. Is it actually impossible without Nihapolaoa?
I love your guides but I found this one to be too much of a cheat. Yes, you didn’t use Seitengrats, but you did use Dark Energy farmed using the Reks method, which is a bit of a cheat, especially as it’s not available on formats other than PS4. Would have been nice to see a method that only relied on items gained fairly from the main game. That said, there was still a lot of good info in the video that is invaluable, so thanks.
Late reply but so what? Dark Energy is extremely difficult to obtain because you can only get it with the diamond armlet equipped, which allows for rare items to obtained but at a *VERY* low percentage chance (you mainly get gil or knots of rust). At 0.1% it's low enough to make farming for it naturally pretty much out of the question for most people. That kind of rarity really isn't very fair so is it any wonder that people resort to RNG manipulation? You can obtain one via the Bazaar but only once.

3 Dark energy 1 charged dark matter 1 zeromus big bang ( bubbled zeromus, and then reversed an elixir on him. Did a crapton of damage - someplace close to 300K ) 1 zodiark = 1 judge flashing at the end. My party beat em down. Finally. The imperator trophy.
souls elite have you used 99 knots of rust? In the original game, the strength of dark matter is dictated by the number of times you've used a knot of rust. Btw can anyone confirm this is the case in zodiac age?

In order to stop Zarg from using Elixir you have to Sleep him. Mostly the only way. This is of great importance

Yes I obtained the platinum trophy! Mist walker is indeed about luck. But i managed to do the Black Hole twice. You need to push as quick as possible and don't worry about what quickening you push. But I think that if there's a Mist Charge option this is the best chance to do the level 3 quickenings. You will get this Mist Walker trophy! 🤜

I'm looking at your menu. It shows that your clock is only two hours into the game and your steps are only 3300 or so. Yet your levels are in the 70s and you have a ton of items and gear. Did the timer and steps reset themselves? How many hours did you put into this game?

Just beat this fight myself:D Turns out you can disease Ghis and Drace (with the nihopalaoa) Silence and slow works on some of the others as well as perma sleep on Zargabaath.

@FuzzfingerGaming man you weren't watching well. You set penelo to do a megalixir and then a curaja from Ashe hit and you change Penelo's actions to a prince's kiss before she could finish scathe. Megalixir does in fact recover mist charges.
Also you should do auto-sort in your inventory item menu. You spend so much time searching for items this will help so much.
Megalixirs actually *DON'T* recover mist charges, I remember trying it and nothing happened. Elixirs do though.

This definitely shouldn't be a strategy or how-to guide. None of your videos should be. They're good to watch to see how the bosses behave, but your fights are always a complete mess. So are your gambits and menu system.

No you still don't get to keep anything. Starting the weak mode puts you with ZERO items from trial mode. It's only if you load a save after a trial that you keep items. So level 100 is impossible to keep anything from.

my characters are in decent shape except for 2 of them being in berserk and one of them being the healer yet i cant survive for a bloody minute! got max level on my main 3 and fairly high level on the others and i just keep being dropped, i dont know what to do!

I've put over 120 hours into the game only to reach this battle completely fucked up from the one previous and unable to come anywhere near close to beating it. Even if I came in fully healed I still don't believe I'd be able to do it. I'm Level 99 with 3 Seitengrats. I guess I'm just shit.
By the time I've taken out Ghis I'm seconds away from death.
I'm both furious and depressed.
After getting over my temper tantrum I got back to it.
It took about 3 hours but I managed to claw my way to victory over a fight that lasted about 25 minutes.

Hi, i've finished the trial mode 100 - i've managed to stole the tourmesol how would i retain this to the story mode? it asked me for a new game plus but it retain the items.
I’ve not reached trial 100 yet and didn’t realise it would ask you to start a NG+ after, but would it work if you stole the item you wanted and then died on purpose?

I dont have the Nihapolaoa, and no Ribbons, and I get absolutely DESTROYED! Any tips?? Ive never played anything harder than this in any game ever, they one shot me regardless of status buffs, and Im lv99 :( Not even Zodiark Deathblow x3 killed even ONE of the judges. This is actually pure bullshit. I can never have time to heal even with elixir. Is it actually impossible without Nihapolaoa?
I love your guides but I found this one to be too much of a cheat. Yes, you didn’t use Seitengrats, but you did use Dark Energy farmed using the Reks method, which is a bit of a cheat, especially as it’s not available on formats other than PS4. Would have been nice to see a method that only relied on items gained fairly from the main game. That said, there was still a lot of good info in the video that is invaluable, so thanks.

Late reply but so what? Dark Energy is extremely difficult to obtain because you can only get it with the diamond armlet equipped, which allows for rare items to obtained but at a *VERY* low percentage chance (you mainly get gil or knots of rust). At 0.1% it's low enough to make farming for it naturally pretty much out of the question for most people. That kind of rarity really isn't very fair so is it any wonder that people resort to RNG manipulation? You can obtain one via the Bazaar but only once.

I agree. I really wish he'd shown a strategy without dark energy as I can't farm it in the Switch edition and it makes this particular video useless.

souls elite have you used 99 knots of rust? In the original game, the strength of dark matter is dictated by the number of times you've used a knot of rust. Btw can anyone confirm this is the case in zodiac age?
