I hope the students appreciate how lucky they are.

Once the kids absorb the essence of the their new conductor they will certainly begin to understand the spiritual and musical depth of who he is. Congratulations to UM for this amazing hire and in particular at such a moment in time in history for the UM Band Program. Hold on Symphony Band kids! You’re in for quite an incredible interpretive ride, and journey!

Strange not seeing him in uniform. I'm wondering if these students have any clue to what level their band will aspire going forward.

I have heard from many people he was disliked by the Marine Band and they were relieved he retired. He apparently didn’t care about his musicians and only thought about his career advancement.

If I were a classical musician, I would rather be in an orchestra than a wind band.

Totally different approach than Michael Haithcock. It was time for a change.
