  • Expanding on the Stage1 offerings in this video we test the ETS Extreme Turbo Systems Intercooler Charge Pipe upgrade as well as their direct replacement turbo manifold (header) to see if they gain any power on their own. Results are interesting and a testament to the adaptability of our Stage1 Tune. Please watch to the end for full explanation and enjoy!

Do you think part of the reason the charge pipe doesn't make more power is them reusing the factory pieces it goes to on the tmic just wondering if tmics like the perin or process west not using that part might have better result

    • @WT4T

I see no restriction at this boost level honestly. Other cars show similar results. It's the reason things like throttle bodies don't make power on turbo cars either until you're really running a LOT of boost

Great vid I like the tech, I had my 22 wrx on the dyno recently, ets intake, turbo back , Cobb tmic, turbosmart plumb back, charge pipe. 310hp+412tq, warm day summer 36degC, tuner said turbo was getting to much air and didn’t like it with the ets sleeve removed, preferred when sleeve was inserted . • @WT4T

Basically the car is anticipating each cylinder firing event to happen at a certain time, when it happens too soon or late from expected it counts a roughness.
