    If you’re new to resin 3D printer, how do you figure out what kind of printer should you buy?

    Any idea what would cause a print to just not print at all? When my plate starts becoming visible (after hours of printing) there's just nothing on there.
    Thanks!

      Heyya mate, double check you haven't got a big gloopy mess hidden underneath your uncured resin in the VAT by using that plastic spatula to delicately feel around the tank. If you do it is time for a big clean out with IPA.
      Also make sure you have UV light coming out of the printer. You can pull the VAT off the printer and run a | Clean VAT Cycle | just to check if it is running.
      Finally if all is well consider increasing your exposure time. If you don't let the first layers get enough UV light they are likely to fall from the print platform. Check here for how to find the optimal layer exposure time - core-electronics.com.au/guides/perfect-resin-print-exposure-setting/
      Hope this helps and you get right back to 3D printing beautiful models! 😊

      Hey mate, this is the Eiffel Tower model - www.thingiverse.com/thing:3219415
      You will need to scale it and slice it using a Software like Lychee Slicer. Hit up this guide for information on that - ruclips.net/video/CHPHh1tIWu0/видео.html

    Great video
    I have an opportunity to purchase both the Creality LD-002H Resin SLA 3D Printer + UW-01 Washing here in Canada for $319.00 as a first time purchase of a 3d printer would you say that this is a good printer to purchase and a good deal. I work in 1/24 1/35 scales.

    • @Core-Electronics
      @Core-Electronics  2 года назад +1

      Heyya mate, thanks! The Creality LD-002H is an excellent way to get into resin 3D printing, particularly for those scales your interested in + if you can your hands onto a cure and wash station right at the start your 3D printing life will be significantly more easy and fun 😊

    Any suggestions on why the print time for the Eiffel Tower is clocking around 12hrs? I'm currently printing the same model from the thumb drive. Printer is the Creality ld-002r. Really appreciated the information on under/over curing.

    • @Core-Electronics
      @Core-Electronics  2 года назад

      The Creality LD-002R features an RGB screen to shape the UV light emitted from your printer. Compared to the LD-002H featured in this video (which uses a monochrome screen) the UV transmission is significantly lower, which results in longer curing times per print layer and overall long printer times.
      The estimated times on your printer are also very rough guides, unless you calibrate your slicing software to account for your specific printer's speed it could be out by an hour or two.

      @@Core-Electronics thanks for the reply. I was thinking should I print an object, let's say a building, horizontally instead of vertically? This would reduce the layers, no?

    Just bought one of these printers... Would you not recommend having this and printing stuff in my room?

    • @Core-Electronics
      @Core-Electronics  2 года назад +1

      Resin printing is best done in a well ventilated area, I wouldn't recommend setting one up in a bedroom. Fumes aside, dealing with resin can be messy and inevitably you'll deal with a spill or two, it's best to set up in a dedicated space that can be cleaned easily.

    Realistically someone's first print would not be using a wash and cure station.

      If I can save just one person from the mess of a resin printing without a wash and cure station then I will be ecstatic. Nevertheless all the procedures talked about with the wash and cure can be readily emulated manually.
