I have a similar yacht, a Hans Christian 43, and made up a 3 strand nylon bridle to avoid the anchor chain damaging the bobstay. You will love the Mantus rig I'm sure, especially when the wind gets up!
It was her first trip! We motored most of the time until the engine overheated (again) so she really hated the noise and hid inside. Once we anchored she came out and seemed pretty unfazed about it.
It's actually not that hard to deploy once you get it set up with the hard points on your boat, and practice doing it a couple times. We're actually pretty pleased with the results.
My Mantus kegs are 26feet so soon you get used to simply adding that to your scope calculation. After I set the anchor with the engine I pay out the remaining chain necessary to allow the bridle to take over and then additional chain to give a nice bit of drooping chain between the luridly legs. Enjoy!
Jesus Rich how big is the boat. Those shackles and eye look bigger than the one I had on the 100' yacht I was on last week..it's ok really. I couldn't look past the amazing cushions.

Love that Twitchell the Cat came out with you.

It fun seeing you guys out testing it out.
Thanks for watching us struggle...
Thanks for the vid. Our boat came with one, but the Mantus set up is better for a reasonable price.

Thanks, we plan to keep practicing with this new setup.
The Mantor kit looks really strong. I liked it, except for the security strap. We will see how long the velcro will hold. Cheers.
As soon as I get the engine overheat resolved, we'll certainly put it through its paces..

It's pretty big, but there's a couple vids on actual hurricane results that I watched, and the prognosis is positive.
@@svrambleon no doubt. I meant more the hardware. Better bigger than smaller. Boats coming along..
@@svrambleon On West marine website it does not show the big clip coming with the mooring lines?
Velcro? F’ing Velcro? Are you kidding me? 🤦♂️
Ummm...not sure what you're talking about. We didn't talk about Velcro in this video at all.
